Full disclosure: I'm a Boston Red Sox fan. I was born there, I cannot control fate and destiny. Plus, I love them, no matter what. (It's been tough this season...)
Anyhow, I really love the Memphis Redbirds. Before I moved here, I thought my days of watching baseball in person were over. Admittedly, I had no clue there was a minor league team here. Thank the LORD there is one.
AutoZone Park is phenomenal. For a minor league stadium, it is gorgeous. I love that you can walk around and stretch your legs when you need to. The bluff is cool: cheap seats where you can let your kiddos run around.
Food is awesome and relatively inexpensive. BBQ NACHOS. DO IT. You won't be sorry. Beer is beer, but they have Ghost River, so that's pretty awesome in my book.
Seriously, I can't figure out why the games don't have more people attending. This is a place you can't pass up.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 806301581Aug 6, 2023Updated review4 check-ins
For the 2023 season, the dilapidated scoreboard screen has been put out of its misery and replaced.
It would be a good thing if the Redbirds would consider contracting with a nearby parking garage.
My family and I always manage to have a good time here, as baseball has traditionally had a nice, slow rhythm to it. We shall return for more home games.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Jun 29, 2023Previous reviewFor the 2023 season, the dilapidated scoreboard screen has been put out of its misery and replaced.

I know that it's fashionable to support the local NBA team (Memphis Grizzlies / professional basketball), but I really enjoy and prefer the relaxed pace and atmosphere of that other great American sports invention, baseball.
To be certain, the venue (AutoZone Park) could stand a little sprucing up. After about twenty years, the building has aged relatively intact. There are some visible areas of deterioration, like the areas of mold growing from some of the outdoor ceilings. However, the long uncleaned areas of dirt and cobwebs are inexcusable. Laziness especially bothers me for something so easily corrected.
We enjoyed the buffet that came with our ticket price. It included: pulled pork barbecue, collard greens, mashed potatoes, salad greens, hotdogs, nachos, cookies, brownies, and some other foods. The ice cream sandwiches that the staff made available to us were a nice way to end our meal.
After the game ended, we made our way to the first floor gift shop, for a few souvenirs. My favorite item that we bought was the Redbirds wall clock (on the discount rack at 50% off). I'm ordinarily not much for corporate sports logos, but The Redbirds are a different animal. They're my hometown, AAA, minor-league baseball team! Anyway, the clock has been hanging prominently in our home for the past few months, and we smile at the memories that viewing it brings.
I'm very much looking forward to the impending 2023 season, and hope that the team again offers affordable ticket deals for middle class folks like myself and my wife.Jul 31, 2022Previous reviewThis was my first game of 2022, but certainly not my first Redbirds game, ever. Although the game was postponed (rescheduled) due to rain, it felt really good being back inside of the ball park. The personnel were universally helpful and nice. There's just always such a good vibe going on there.
I'm looking forward to my next visit, as most of my ticket price was refunded. - 53712882511Sep 20, 2021
We enjoyed every minute of our first Redbirds game! Memphis' Triple A team were a joy to watch in their game against the Bats. Lots of action! Dustin provided between-inning Game Night entertainment which was so fun and he even included someone from our party in the games! The stadium is lovely and our tickets were only $20 a piece, to sit in the first rows behind the Redbirds dugout! Great seats. We picked up a few souvenirs and some free nachos, as it was Free Nacho Tuesday. Lots of fun! Great value, too.

Absolutely horrible would not recommend have us on a 2 1/2 hour delay due to wet field when it hasn't rained in days

We regularly go to see the Redbirds and normally have a good time. Clean, safe, and friendly employees. We went a couple weeks ago though and the food was trash. Undercooked hotdogs and overcooked pretzels. Gross. Over $60 worth of disgusting food. I recommend the Redbirds Stadium overall but buyer beware of the food.

My 4th grade daughter attended a field trip to the Redbirds game on Thursday, May 4. She stated it was the worst field trip ever. They arrived at 10:30 and all they witness was them smoothing the dirt out. Three hours of sitting in the hot sun never seeing a game. When they left at 1:30, my daughter stated the game was starting. Every parent who paid for that field trip should be refunded.

Auto Zone park is a gem of a baseball park. However, it's rapidly descending into disrepair. Paint and general repair would do wonders.
Also, what happened to beer vendors and music on the mezzanine outside the gates? It used to be a fun festive vibe while waiting for the gates to open.
Very disappointing state of affairs. Sad to see.Helpful 1Thanks 2Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chrissi J.Memphis, TN099Aug 1, 2018
I really enjoyed the game today! I have to take the time to recognize Ms. Dana Davis I believe! She was so sweet and had a smile on her face the whole game! Now that's great customer service! Even gave my kid's tips on how to get Rocky's attention! I'm so appreciate of her kindness! Thanks Ms. Dana!

I remember my very first Memphis Redbird's game- I can still smell the fresh smell of hot popcorn & the taste of hot popcorn the taste of a hotdog loaded with mustard relish and topped off with onions and a few pieces of sliced jalapeño peppers -I remember my very first Memphis Redbird's game as associate with all of my favorite foods during one of America's favorite's sporting events!! Add always order a hotdog and I'll be frank with all the works on the top a large cold Coca-Cola and that hot bag of popcorn to make for real game day treats-- I sit somewhere near home nothing like sitting in your home base the wind in your hair -the fresh smell of grass fresh cut grass -the sound of that makes when it connects with the baseball -the cheer in the roar of the crowd the excitement of everyone in the crowd cheering on the home team--I always remember on special game nights when the gates were open there will be offerings of complimentary baseball souvenirs to have and to enjoy during the game that you can take home with you afterwards it varied from replica stadiums replica bobble heads
