Mellow Mushroom

The food was pretty good. Got the oven roasted wings and mushroom pizza (Holy shiitake). The pizza was a bit greasy but tasty.

One of my favorite restaurants. My favorite is the loaded potato pie (which I get without bacon.) It's delicious, filling, and reasonably priced. Plus I loved my server Kylie!

Do you remember when there was a Mellow Mushroom on East Franklin Street? Now that was a damn good Mellow Mushroom, and my daughters and I ate there way more often than we should have! This MM is not nearly as good. The one positive I'll say is that my daughter appreciates that you can build your own salad. Other than that, nothing here is worth the hassle of going to that part of Franklin Street. Disappointed.

So, the manager sent me an email and asked that I give them another chance, so my daughter and I ate dinner there. Actually, it was her choice because she was craving a salad, and she likes that you can build your own (but they charge individually for each item so it adds up quickly; as opposed to X amount for 6 toppings).
Let me get my main complaint out of the way: when you have nearly every table next to a window open, why would we be seated in the back, right next to the bar, a wait station, and a door that leads to the kitchen??? We had to ask to be moved because it's a busy area and we couldn't hear each other (aside from it just being annoying to have people walking by you constantly).
I've raised my previous rating from 3 to 4 if for no other reason - the Bruschetta! It was one of the best I've had out as the bread was toasted perfectly, and the amount of each ingredient was perfect. The salad was good and the toppings were plentiful. I still didn't love my pizza, but perhaps it just isn't my style anymore (and, it's expensive for pizza). I ordered the Italian sub to take home to my husband, and it was beautifully put together. However, are you really charging $1.89 for a bag of chips??? How about a side of pasta salad, or baby green salad, or free chips!? He said it was delicious though. I do appreciate the care the manger took in replying to my review, and inviting me back. It's still just not one my "go-to" places.

This place is okay, it has some open seating that you can watch some of the games at. Our server Justin was pretty cool, he was attentive but not annoying just enough. Our food took a long time to come out, he came over and apologized before we had acknowledged it and he kept checking on it. As soon as the chefs finished making the food he brought it right out. The cheese was so hot I burnt my tongue but that's my fault.
We had the portobello mushroom app,it was okay. It wasn't exactly what I thought it would be. We also had the pretzel bites-those were awesome.
We ordered two small pizzas- a buffalo chicken and the shiitake mushroom. I preferred the mushroom, but my friend preferred the chicken. I probably wouldn't come here if I was starving, but it's solid bar food. They have a good selection of beers but I did not imbibe this time. Will be coming back when I am in town again.

Mellow Mushroom is a decent place for dinner in CH -- I don't rave over it and I also don't avoid it. All the pizzas are baked on whole wheat crust, which I appreciate. My go-to is the Holy Shiitake with three kinds of roasted mushrooms, onions, Parmesan, and truffle oil. The spiral swirl of garlic aoli makes the Holy Shiitake look a bit like a cinnamon bun with chopped chives on it, but the overall flavor combination is quite tasty (I don't miss the red sauce). Mellow Mushroom's Caesar salads are also good. The beer selection is decent. Servers typically range from fine to cheery. The decor is colorful and forgettable.

I wanted to love this place. I've received a couple of recommendations. One thing I'd like to say is that when I called my order in on the phone, the employee was prompt and courteous and repeated back my order correctly, the first time. When I came in to pick it up, again, superior service.

The problem lies in the food. My daughter ordered a ham and cheese calzone. Most of the calzone was just bread--meaning most of the FILLING was just bread. This was crazy disappointing. Also, they only included one very small side of sauce. She commented that it would have been nice to have two sides. She ended eating about 1/3rd of it--the part that actually had filling. I ordered the meatball hoagie--was disappointed for two reasons--first off, this is the first time I've been served a meatball sub without full, round meatballs. They were cut into small pieces (a money saver, I guess?. Not cool Mellow Mushroom! There was more cheese than meatballs--major disappointment. Lastly, they were incredibly skimpy on the sauce so it was one DRY hoagie. Sadly, it ended up in the trash.

Had a good salad here. A lot of high quality ingredients.

They forgot my garlic cheese bread and I had to remind them. It came out well after the salad.

They should have comped it. Didn't.

Deduct a star for that.

PIZZZZAAAAAA WHERES THE PIZZAAAA. You can not go wrong with Mellow Mushrooms pizza selection. My favorite- the Mushroom Shiitake pie! Everything about it is amazinggggggg the cheese the crust the garlic aioli the mushrooms EVERYTHING. There's a wide selection of seating and the staff is super friendly :) the croutons on the Caesar salad are also to die for. Pizzas come in three different sizes: S (4 slices), M (6 slices), and L (8 slices). My friend and I got a M and I could have stopped after the second slice but I like overeating when it comes to pizza so I did it and I was in the happiest food coma I've ever experienced

Good service and food at this location, but the tables were all sticky. I think they were using a towel with Soda in it to wipe everything with.

The service and food were excellent! I didn't know which pizza to get and my server, Lauren, recommended I get half and half, so I ordered half "Cosmic Karma" & half "Veg Out" pizza with the Greek side salad. Next time I will try the "Holy Shitake Pie". Both the food presentation and flavor were outstanding. Delicious! Laid back atmosphere with art deco & hippie vibe. Great place for families, a date, or hanging with friends. I didn't try any of their beers but they had a nice variety of craft beers to choose from. Highly recommend. I'll definitely be back!
