The food is delicious and always a large portion. The staff is very accommodating. Highly recommend!

great food for the area, for Italian food in the area this is it, beats olive garden all day, long like any other place. It depends on the time a day in the cook, but even with DoorDash and whatever else that delivers it, it's raining with me. I'm not household.

We stopped by here as we were in Ironton and it's my moms favorite in town.
To start with, the building itself is beautifully restored and is wonderful to look at during your meal. The waiters were all very friendly and we had plenty of refills and a heaping plate of breadsticks with marinara to start.
I was going to do the spaghetti but I found the marinara sauce a bit bitter. I didn't want to run the risk of having an entire plate to contend with of it, so I did an order of bruschetta for lunch.
The portion sizes are very large and everyone else enjoyed their meal.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 17, 2023
I love the food here, I don't think I've ever been disappointed with what I have ordered. The service is just so-so though, I have been here and had great service and I have been here and had horrible service. My latest visit here unfortunately was the latter, we sat and waited a long time for anyone to take our order. Every time a server was close we would get their attention and received the same response, "we'll get you in just a moment". When we started to leave a waitress came over and apologized so we did finally order. Our food was good but no one ever checked back on us for refills or to see if everything was okay. After we ate still no one came to bring a check, I finally went up to the cashiers area and paid there. As I said the food is always good and the building is very cool, it has a 1930's look and it's pretty neat to look at the old architecture. All in all the food is great, the service can be but it can be pretty bad.

This is such a nice little downtown restaurant! The food is delicious and not too expensive. Service was good. I'll be sure to come back next time I pass through Ironton!

Wife and I sat at the bar. Visited on the Saturday before Valentine's Day to avoid the crowds. Promptly greeted by two bartenders and some bread. I had a combo of chicken parm, fettuccine alfredo and lasanga with a side salad. My wife had a huge bowl of shrimp alfredo along with her salad. Outstanding food, service and atmosphere. We can't wait to go back!

Blown away! I'll start with cons first so we end on a good note :)
Cons
-No website
-Called my order in, was told it would be 20 min. Turned out to be an hour
-Only 1 computer for the servers to enter orders and cash people out?
-Screeching baby (seriously - don't be rude to other guests, please take it outside)
-Parking sucks
Pros
-Delicious food! Really impressed. 100% worth the wait
-Despite being incredibly busy (and perhaps short staffed?) the staff was very nice and patient
-Alfredo sauce tastes homemade
You gotta go try this place out!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 1823135015079Nov 27, 2018
This was my first visit to Melini's Cucina Italian restaurant in Ironton, Ohio. I met an old friend here for lunch while I was in town. She had eaten here many times and liked it so I gave it a try.
I asked if they have a lunch menu with smaller portions and they did not. However, they had a baked spaghetti lunch special which was a smaller portion, so my friend and I both ordered the dish. We were served garlic breadsticks with marinara for dipping prior to our lunch arriving. The breadsticks were delicious as well as the marinara! Crispy but not hard, that's the way I like my Italian bread, and there's was on point! Oh and did I mention they serve Pepsi, my favorite soda!
My spaghetti was served on a hot plate. It had melted cheese over the marinara and meatballs which was lovely. Who can say no to cheese? Not me lol! I really enjoyed the marinara sauce and I'm very picky! And the meatballs were packed with flavor. Loved it!
And I loved the old building location! My pictures tell the tale of the history of this building. I love old architecture and this spot was right up my alley. I want to come back and experience happy hour at the bar as it was gorgeous!Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 10Oh no 0
