When you come to an urgent care you want 3 things
      1) expediency
      2) great bedside manner
      3) answers

Check one check two check three----even if 3 was a sucky answer.

Basically was told ---yes, what you're experiencing is bad and not good, but we treat acre symptoms (hydrate you, keep fluids and food down).....and so, if your symptoms persist, you need to see a primary care physician.

And just like that....bye bye $75.

Honestly....huge waste of a near hundred bucks. But----I guess if that's all their equipped to do, then that's all they can do.

Like I said, they're super nice, professional, really clean and expedient.

      Quick
      Efficient
Friendly, knowledgeable and polite (Mary, the PA is awesome!)
Accepts my insurance - I called to confirm first (you'll get routed answering service)

I had no wait. I was actually the only patient in the building.

I was visiting from out of town and had a bad reaction to all the bug bites and benadryl and hydrocortisone wasn't cutting it. One of the bites also started to look really bad, I'll save you from the details. They took care of that one bite and prescribed me something a bit stronger for relief. They did give me a steroid shot after I had more time to think about it, I wish I didn't take it.

Have come here twice, both times very pleasant experience!

They take my insurance, Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Never had any problems with this portion, which is always a relief.

I was always helped super fast, like zero waiting time, and everyone is super friendly!

They have a Keurig machine for coffee and tea in the lobby (I've never had time to use though because I've been helped right haha). And they have a basket of snacks once you're on the other side of the waiting room doors! Niiiiice.

Came around closing once because all of a sudden I was having a major eye problem and I was still there once they were closed but they didn't make me feel too rushed or like I was being annoying. I greatly appreciated this because I was in so much pain and could barely open my eyes, or keep them closed. I just had to keep blinking! It was the worst! But I digress..

The other time was a couple weeks ago for a study abroad physical. Nothing special there, just quick and painless and they sent over all the info to UT for me.

I'll def continue to go here for any problems in the future!

Decided to walk away and I'm happy with my decision.

No answer when I tried to get info after making my online appointment. I wanted to find out the cost to be treated with no insurance since I'm waiting on mine to kick in ($165-$185 base).

When I asked about lab fees I had a sneaking suspicion surprise bills would likely follow.

Oh, and there's no parking. I know it's by campus but its an urgent care.

I downloaded an app to see a Dr. over Skype and problem solved $50 dollars and 15 minutes later.

Maybe this is a little unfair, but I couldn't give it 3 stars and probably not a bad choice compared to the ER for something like stitches or a sprain.

I am writing only the third one-star review, but I had the almost exact same experience as them. READ AND BEWARE.

While MedSpring is a beautiful and clean looking business on the outside, the doctors are completely incompetent.

After fearing that I have the flu, I scheduled an appointment on a Sunday because I was feeling absolutely terrible and could not wait for the doctor's office to open on Monday. I go in and am impressed at how nice and clean the space is, and how quickly I was seen. That's about as far as the "good experience" goes.

Dr. Coughlin is an older man who does NOT make his patients feel comfortable at all, came to my room after about 10 minutes of me waiting to quickly and emotionlessly ask me what i'm feeling, then quickly discount my complaints by saying, "It's probably just allergies" because "pollen counts have been pretty high." (Go look at pollen counts for the week of 2/23-3/1. I guarantee that it's the lowest that they have been in a long time.) Pretty positive that he's wrong, I ask "Are you sure? I'm sure they've been pretty low." Of course, he thinks i'm an idiot and says "yes, i'm sure."

WHAT. THE. FREAKING. WHAT. I can't even.

Know that as a non-native of Texas, I have never had allergies nor dealt with any of the wide range of symptoms that y'all unfortunately have to deal with.

However, since I would not settle for "it's just allergies," I demanded a flu test, which quickly came back as negative.

Okay, so maybe I didn't have the flu. He's not such a bad doctor, right? WRONG.

After quickly telling me I don't have the flu and almost pushing me out of the examination room, I ask him to hold on, because I have more questions. Acting clearly annoyed, he asks me what else is wrong. I then tell him about some sore in my mouth that I have never had before, and after looking for about 3 seconds, says, "I don't know."

This is when I had it. You're a practicing MD, discounting the patient's complaints, and then have the wherewithal and incompetence to then tell the patient that "I don't know". I was so upset and confused that I asked him to explain what he means that he doesn't know, to which he replied, "You should see your primary care doctor or an ENT." ...Well what the heck did I just spend a $35 copay and $200 in insurance for?

For the cherry on top, I should have mentioned that my girlfriend was also feeling terrible, and that Dr. Coughlin told her the EXACT. SAME. THING. We talked afterwards, and almost verbatim, Dr. Coughlin told us the exact same sentences about allergies and counts being high and blah blah blah.

Words cannot express how unhappy I am with MedSpring, and I am even considering writing a letter to their corporate office to let them know that they hired the most impersonal, incompetent doctor that acts like he is much too busy for a couple of Asian people with "just allergies."

TL;DR version: worst urgent care ever. Go see your primary care doctor. DO NOT SEE DR. COUGHLIN. UT Students, go to UHS instead.

One of the highlights of SXSW was my visit to MedSpring. Of course I'm teasing; no one wants to be sick at SXSW. But if it happens, this is the place to go. It's right on The Drag, and it is spotlessly clean and very modern. A hostess checked me in and made sure I was comfy. A nice young man checked me in, and when he figured out I was from out of town, set about making sure there was a pharmacy close by that would fill my prescriptions should I need them. The doctor was friendly and efficient, and they got me in and out in about 35 minutes.

The best (most surprising part) was when a doctor called the next day to check on me. I like my regular doctor a lot but she doesn't check up on me the next day.

All in, about as good an experience as one can have going to the doctor.

I have been to many urgent care facilities in my time, and I have never been to one as clean, efficient and fast as medspring.

I couldn't book an appointment through my regular doc cause they were closed on New Years Day, so I decided to go to medspring on my brothers recommendation.

I put enough $$ in the pay to park for 2 hours located directly in front of the facility and took a book because I know the drill at these places. I didn't even make it through a paragraph either in the lobby or while waiting for the doctor in my private room, which was complete with flat screen tv, remote and couch.

The doctor was prompt, courteous and prescribed me exactly what my other doctors always have.

No additional cost, just my regular copay. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. On top of that, she emailed my prescriptions to Walgreens for me, and they were waiting on me upon my arrival.

5 stars is all yelp gives you, but I would give medspring 6 if there was the option

4pm Friday, potential ankle break, no way I was getting in to see my regular doctor, no way was I going to the ER, and didn't want to suffer all weekend.

This place was great. Yes fancy, but way more importantly, super great staff on the phone and at the location, immediate appointment, took X-rays, got a brace and pain prescription, was in and out in less than 45 minutes, and only paid $35, which was $5 more than a regular doctor's visit. Plus, the follow-up doctor phone call on Saturday was previously unheard of for me and very impressive.

Close to UT campus, with the one negative being crappy parking.

I am completely flabergasted. I have never been to such a high caliber urgent care or medical facility in my life.(and that is saying a lot because I'm sick all the time) I have a sinus infection and the Dr. had me in and out in 30 minutes. I'll never go anywhere again.

The facility was uber fancy. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and sympathetic. They have free wifi and tv.

I begrudgingly visited MedSpring Urgent Care last Saturday. I would have preferred to visit a doctor at the UT Medical centre for a copay fee of $5.00, but it's not open weekends and a bad ear ache persuaded me to visit this fancy pants medical centre on the drag and pay the $30 co-pay. I am not sure what you pay without insurance. I would guess a lot!

So this is like the Hilton of medical centres, when I'm used to the motor-inn sort. Overall I had a very positive experience. I didn't have to wait long at all to see a doctor. When I first arrived, I was offered a hot or cold beverage while I waited in the main waiting room. I was then ushered into a private waiting room, which was fitted out with a flatscreen TV and 90 channels - and I was given a remote control and encouraged to watch whatever I wanted until the doctor arrived. An improvement on germ-covered tattered magazines I suppose.

I was seen by a pleasant nurse, then a friendly doctor, and finally a happy cashier. I got the meds I needed and went home satisfied.

To be honest I couldn't care less about all the extras - I would be happy with a no-frills doctor visit as long as my medical problem was solved.
