Affordable education. This is great for the local community. The culinary program ran under chef Thomas is wonderful. The new

2023. I hold a BA and BS. I had such a bad experience registering at this school. Depts seem clueless. Only 2 professional math tutors in this building Peer helpers are available but from experience it takes 10 minutes to get one answer correct. At this rate you will not pass if you struggle in math.
In addition, if you audit a course. you will pay 350 per credit.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1 - Bilal D.Crystal Lake, IL052Jan 13, 2020
Inept admins. Pretty sure they went out of there way to give me a hard time because they didn't want me to graduate. Literally refused to let me see the academic counselor and told me it will be a 2-3 hour wait everytime I went. Found out much later or I would have gone in with a lawyer and have half there assess fired for intentionally refusing to let me graduate even thought I had pretty much straight As. I got pissed at the receptionist who than told me I'm not going to be able to graduate and they are very busy but I can pay a fee and the will mail me a diploma. When it came in it didn't have any distinctions on it. Honors Frat, honors section, or high honors. Called them they said it was a clerical error. Could be fixed for a fee. Didn't bother calling thought they were idiots later found out the decided they didn't like me.

I absolutely loved MCC! I was very skeptical as somehow it wasn't "cool" to go to a community college. But after getting my associates in science from here and transferring to a 4 year school, I realized it really was cool. I saved so much money by going to MCC. I just graduated from Illinois State University with my degree in elementary education and out of all of the professors I have had, the best ones were at MCC. It was a great, relaxed environment. The school was kept clean. It had great events and it seemed like there was always free food. The classes were challenging and I learned a lot. The professors truly cared about you and would bend over backwards to help you succeed. I would have gone here all four years if I could have. I cannot day enough nice things about it. I never once had a bad experience at MCC. HIGHLY recommend! And for all of you high school students afraid about what your friends might think (community college *gasp*) they will be so jealous when you don't have any student loans and they're thousands of dollars in debt.

As nurturing as an institution can get. Graduated from here with my associates and transferred to a 4-year school. Nearly everything transferred. Great work-study opportunities. Couldn't be happier.

Nothing but problems in many of my classes. I've had two horrible instructors. One barely spoke English and we're in the United States the last time that I checked. So, why hire instructors who don't speak English well? Do they realize how hard it is to learn when you have a difficult time understanding their thick accents? Duh. I have also had good instructors, it's like rolling dice though, you either get a good instructor, or a really bad instructor. It's a liberal mess there, too, and they've been through so many presidents it's no wonder MCC isn't doing well for its students. MCC has lost touch. So sad. It seems as if students have been forgotten.

FORGET THIS SCHOOL, THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. IM DONE WITH IT. I CANT BELIEVE I STAYED AS LONG AS I HAVE. they have been almost shut down so many times its sad. most of the teachers there are remedial and barely have a joke of a degree from SIU. they are C people at best. I hate this school, you have ruined my want for higher education. I would rather move than deal with this joke.

Don't trust the office, don't trust the school and don't trust them with your future. What a disaster! I've gone into the advising office 6 times and have been turned away and asked to come back 4 times. Somehow I'm always there at "the wrong time" right when somebody "just stepped out". All I want is to get papers to transfer to a different school and can't even do that. I would give this school less than 1 star but unfortunately it's not possible.
