We have been coming here off and on throughout the years and I was a bit stumped to see that the yelp rating was so low? The Happy Hour here is very diverse. Unlike some place's HH, the HH menu isn't all fried foods! Us ladies enjoy coming here for Happy Hour!
Love the variety of food available on the HH menu. We've had the buffalo wings, firecracker shrimp, beef sliders, oysters on the half, clam chowder, chicken lettuce wraps, steamed mussels(my fave), oysters, stuffed shrooms, cheeseburger, steak carpaccio(DeeLish), and fish tacos.
We have dined in the restaurant too but wasn't impressed. We gave it another go, and we were all really pleased with the food and service! Ben, was our server and he was fantastic! The wait for our food took awhile but our entrees were delicious! The roasted veggies, beets, carrots, and brussel sprouts were a nice touch!
The bar area is kind of small but there's plenty of seats outside. Believe me, it fills up fast on Thursdays and Fridays. The service can be hit or miss. But the food and drinks are always on point!Helpful 36Thanks 0Love this 34Oh no 0 - 666135718519Mar 25, 2019Updated review
I finally tried the Happy Hour. Awesome pricing. $5.50 cheeseburger with fries, it had a charbroiled taste and the buns were buttered and grilled. The burger was cooked perfectly to order and seasoned well. Delicious! The burger and fries were a full plate, not miniaturized for the HH. The Asian chicken lettuce wraps contained 4 limpy flat leaves. It had slices of grilled chicken in it. The flavors were bold and fresh. $7.
But it took forever and a day to get our food. The wait time was loooonnngggg. Ugh. After placing the order, it took 32 minutes to get chicken lettuce wraps and 38 minutes for the cheeseburger. Yes, I was timing everything. Absolutely absurd wait time. It wasn't even busy, the bar section was less than 1/4 full and only 1 table of 4 people out on the patio. But I suppose that is the compromise to cheap eats and drinks... the wait time.
HH is offered 3-5 pm on the weekends and 3-7 pm during the week. Great. The lemonade is house-made with simple syrup. Nice. Iced tea is fresh brewed as well.
Just know that HH drinks and food are a good deal if you are not in a hurry. Expect a long wait time (30 + minutes) for your food plus scarce wait staff attention. Also for HH, they request you purchase a drink worth $3.40 or more, alcohol or non.Helpful 13Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0Feb 9, 2017Previous reviewI had lunch here on a Saturday about a month ago. The hostess was cheerful and sat us right away. I noticed The weekend lunch menu is different than the menu they have posted online and present during the week. Our waiter was Mark, gracious and engaging. He was great; very knowledgeable on the menu, on top of the drink refills and clearing away our plates. But alas, only if the food was on par with the excellent service and lovely 5 star decor and ambiance.
-Coconut shrimp was Fried perfectly in shredded coconut and served on top of smear of orange horseradish marmalade. Also on the plate was a tablespoon of mango chutney. The chutney lacked a deep flavor, but was good not great. The bad thing was that it 4 pieces for $12, the marmalade was a skimpy serving just a smear on the plate, and mango chutney lacked a significant flavor (oddly it didn't even have a distinct mango taste) and serving size was about a tablespoon.
-Chopped salad had lots of sliced green olives, which I wasn't expecting. The menu only states bacon and blue cheese. The olives lent the salad an overwhelming olive salty briny taste which I was not anticipating or enjoyed. The plus side was the serving side was larger than I anticipated. $8.30
-Fish n chips were pretty good. Nice golden ale batter crust with moist filets. It was served with a small serving of coleslaw.
-Complimentary bread was delicious. Crusty exterior, moist fluffy interior.
Next time if and when I come back, I'll check out the happy hour which they even have on Saturdays. - Nov 16, 2018
Mom's birthday - where to take her? She loves seafood and raised me to love seafood, so I hit the Yelp app to find - seafood!
I saw McCormick & Schmick's listed... frankly I didn't realize we had a McCormick & Schmick's nearby, but I've been to the one in Vegas a few times when I was living down there and enjoyed it so I figured I'd give it a try.
I liked that I was able to make reservations online. I didn't think it'd be a problem because we were planning to eat fairly early (5PM) but it was a Friday and you never know! I had an event to go to at 7:30 PM and didn't want to run into any delays that might affect that.
We arrived a few minutes late due to traffic, but no worries... our reservation was there and we were seated immediately in one of the curtained booths in the dining room. The bar was packed with happy hour people - wow, happy hour seems really popular here!
The booths were nice because they were *quiet*! Mom has problems in a noisy environment due to her hearing aids, and I sometimes have difficulty with conversations in a noisy environment as well. Neither of us had problems in that area, so that was much appreciated. Granted, the dining room wasn't very busy, but I think the booths still would have been helpful if the dining room was busy.
Mom ordered the Sea Scallops and I ordered the King Crab (steamed) I also ordered a side Caesar Salad - the waiter caught Mom asking me if she could share some of my salad and offered to split it for us... that was appreciated.
The salad was great - nice and fresh crispy romaine and good balance with the flavors. Splitting it gave each of us a nice sampling.
When our entrees were brought out I had to ask for drawn butter for my crab, which I thought was a little odd since it was specifically highlighted on the menu. Our waiter made a somewhat awkward comment like "I'd be happy to get some if you'd like some..." as if I was making a special request - but it *was* mentioned on the menu. Minor detail I guess, and he did promptly return with some... but I nevertheless found myself thinking "it was supposed to be there in the first place."
Mom thoroughly enjoyed her scallops. Unfortunately, my crab was just OK. It wasn't horrible, mind you, but it wasn't what I hoped it would be - which of course was a disappointment.
We had room for desert! Mom got a complimentary Chocolate Lava Cake for her birthday which was very good, and also a very generous portion for a gratis birthday dish! I had the crème brûlée which was excellent as well.
Overall, this was a good experience for us and we'll likely be back to try it again, but unfortunately things fell a little short of my expectations (based partly on my experience with the Vegas location).Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Sep 2, 2018
Happy Hour review only: After hearing my coworker go on and on about how great the HH was at McCormick, a group of us finally tried it out after work. At first glance, the menu offerings and prices were really impressive, considering the usual price point for the items here.
Since it was Wednesday, $1 oysters and $1 prawns, were on special. Our group ordered that along with fish tacos, truffle fries, calamari, seared ahi tuna, and M&S Jam'on burger. They also had great happy hour drink specials and our group took advantage of the $6 wine and $4.50 beer.
All in all, it was a great way to sample across the menu and I was particularly impressed with the fish tacos and the burger. Since the weather was pretty mild, we sat out at the patio before it got too crowded and our server was pretty good about checking on us.
I came back after dreaming of the burger and my second experience was definitely not as impressive. We ordered the fish tacos and burger again, and opted for the hummus and the ahi poke bowl. The tacos and burger were okay, but the hummus and poke bowl were awful. The hummus was dry and needed more olive oil. The ahi poke bowl was a weird color and did not look appetizing at all. I wished we'd just ordered the sane items we ordered the first time and not tried the hummus or the poke bowl. Since it was over 100 degrees on our next visit, no one wanted to go out on the patio so the bar area was packed. Service was pretty non-existent. We gave up trying to find our server and just flagged down any staff member we could locate.
It was pretty disappointing and we're probably not going to be in a hurry to come back soon.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 1, 2020
I've only been to this place for happy hour because they have the best food deals on the planet.
ALL the places I've been to--- McCormick and Schmidt is the only one that can prepare such a divine garlic white wine butter sauce for the muscles. There is nothing that makes my mom happier!
We were treated to a Vetrans meal. That was such a surprise and makes you awesome sause.
No wonder I'm a Landry's member!! Thank you for making my mom feel extra special!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Maria K.Kihei, HI4254021700Oct 19, 2019Updated review
My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary in the back patio. The atmosphere was perfect! The patio is in the shade and there is a beautiful waterfall to add to the ambulance.
We came at happy hour for drinks and taco Tuesday! We had such a nice time with delicious food and great service. Our server was terrific! I'm sorry I didn't get her name to give her props. She even gave us a free dessert when I told her we were celebrating our anniversary.
This is my second happy hour here in the last 6 days! And I have suggested this to friends as a great place for happy hour.Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 11Oh no 0Sep 7, 2016Previous reviewMy husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary in the back patio. We stopped at McCormick & Schmick's the other day ... primarily to say hello to a great bartender we know from another establishment (Chad). As it turned out, our friend was not working that day. Regardless, we decided to grab some lunch. We have always enjoyed our dining experiences at the several other McCormick & Schmick's locations we have tried.
Both indoor and outdoor seating was available. Inside, you could eat in the bar or the inviting main restaurant. This steak & seafood eatery has a comfortable, upscale look and feel backed up by old-school, first class, professional service. The menu provided many tempting food and drink choices complicating the selection process (good problem to have at a restaurant).
Ultimately I decided upon a Cabernet Sauvignon byJoseph Carr and my partner selected a Decoy (Duckhorn) Chardonnay. I would have really enjoyed a Decoy Cab if it had been offered by the glass (although not as good as full-fledged "Duckhorn" ... it is not bad).
With respect to food, we decided on several small plates .... starting with oysters. I chose an assortment of oysters i.e., British Columbia Buckley Bay, California Kumamoto and Maryland Chesapeake Bay. By request, they were served with finely shaved ice that had a pleasant watermelon mint flavor.
Next we ordered Seared Ahi Tuna with pickled peppers and a tasty dressing. Then we enjoyed a Lump Crab Cake with a Fire Roasted Corn Salsa. I liked this very much; it was prepared with a generous amount of crab. To complete our meal, we opted for an Ahi Tuna Tartare that was prepared at the table. Really delicious.
We had a most enjoyable experience at this "new to us" McCormick & Schmick's. I recommend this restaurant.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Mar 25, 2017
Happy Hour daily!
Dined here a couple of times in the past many years ago and I can't remember those experiences anymore (I wasn't actively Yelping yet) but I've come here recently twice for Happy Hour and I've enjoyed the nice portions of food and the delicious choices of appetizers. The bar and happy hour section has lots of table seating and it is to the right as you enter the restaurant. Just walk in and grab an open table.
We've been well tended by the friendly and attentive servers busy running around attending to patrons and food can take awhile to arrive because of the number of people during peak hours. I've had their Bruschetta ($3), Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms ($7), Truffle Fries ($3), and Chicken Lettuce Wraps ($5). All were delicious and nothing bad to say. The HH menu had plenty of appetizers to choose from as was the cocktails.
Located in The Fountains across the Galleria happy hour is everyday (yes, including two hours from 3-5p on Saturdays and Sundays). We had a pleasant experience here during our visits. There is outdoor seating as well.

I had the greatest lunch here, service by Dyana was awesome, clam chowder delicious and hot, and the rainbow trout had an amazing buttery, lemony flavor, moist and delicate. Even though this restaurant is far from where I live I'm definitely coming back soon.

Came in on New Years Eve and wish I hadn't.
We had 7:30 reservations. We didn't get seated until 8:00 because the hostess said they were running behind; totally understandable since it was NYE. The bad service didn't stop there. Once we got seated, it took a good 20 minutes to get our drink order in and another 20 after that to even get the drinks.
For a majority of the time our waiter was MIA. Maybe around 9:30, we flagged him down to ask about our food and to order more drinks. He was a bit agitated, but then again, so were we; it had been over an hour of just waiting around when half the tables in the restaurant were empty and there were plenty of servers up and about.
We over heard our waiter tell another table the Chefs were behind for the night, but what does that have to do with such poor table service?
We finally got our food at around 10:00 pm (2 1/2 hours after our original reservation time). The food looked really good but flavor was decent at most and side dishes were cold.
The waiter was nice enough to comp us 2 desserts for waiting so long. Still not worth the mediocre food and terrible service.
I am not sure if they are under new management because when we went a year prior the food and service was impeccable. Overall I would recommend avoiding this place.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
