This review is for Andy Bates.
Andy has cut my hair at a previous salon. I learned he moved here so I followed. He pays close attention to the style you're looking for and talks it through before he starts. He is delicate and precise with his cut. It's always a pleasure chatting it up with him and I always leave with my hair looking fabulous.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Danielle R.Roseville, CA13612Jul 21, 2021Updated review

I want my money back. I will not stop. I will use wvery method to i formthe public. Employeeing a known drig addict could shit you down
I'm a medical professional so don't insult me me your ignorance. Pupus are not supposed to be that size. And when i confronted her they did not change. Hence, she had an altered mental state which means you knew. Because obviously this is common. So you are pitting clients at risk. If one psychotic break occurs the owner will be just as responsible.
Where's my money back?Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Mar 1, 2021Previous reviewThis is a true story unfortunately. I have Aspergers and am very distressed by bad surprises and unexpected change. I spent 5 years growing my hair out. I researched and thought this was the place. But I'm also medically trained and noticed right away she was using drugs. Her pupils enlarged so much the iris could not be seen and it was fixed, indicating something like molly or x. I should've left but being autistic I did t know what to do. I told her to cut off one inch from the back and no more than half an inch in front. I brought a picture and even drew how I wanted her cut to lay around my eyes. I was tired so I had my eyes closed but to my horror she cut off over 6 years of growth. Over a foot! And she ignored my rule that I needed a color that would not fade brassy in the sun. So she tells me
To avoid the sun because this color can't tolerate it!!! I was livid and asked her why she ignored my request and she said she felt I would look better in a pixie. If I wasn't paying over $300 for it then perhaps one could excuse it. But to be bullied into paying the bill and even shamed for not liking it. Other stylists joined in and were so condescending, as if I just wasn't hip enough to get it. She even claimed that as an artist she knows what is best for the client. Then don't charge me! I was even turned down for a job because discrimination is live and well. Especially in the beauty insider far It was a six figure job.
My father is a public figure so it would be easy for me to bankrupt this business. Let's hope the
owner recognizes that supporting an ego maniac drug addict. I've had to spend thousands of dollars on wigs because the cut was so bad. In fact I brought a wig with the exact color and cut I wanted. I was a makeup artist as well as medical professional and your soul function is to serve, accommodating what THEY want. I've also had a friend study her reviews and a large portion were made from dummy accounts. Because of my savant traits I taught myself to cut hair and I have done a far better job cutting my own hair, so much so that I cut all my friends and family hair, as well as harder skills. To make matters worse I have to make public appearances representing my father and the Kings, and I was laughed at during my first appearance after the cut. Derogatory, hurtful terms. I cried alone many nights. Here I was recovering from a grave illness and all I wanted was to feel good about myself. This destroyed my co did everything for years and still does.'XXu was
To the owner: I will continue to write these reviews on all sites until I am properly compensated. I have spent thousands of dollars
on wigs, especially since my hair fell out because she ignored my allergies.
Some it's either a class action lawsuit (I have found more victims) or I receive compensatory and punitive damages. If you'd like to speak with my attorneys this can be set up, although I am busy finalizing a settlement I just one which is I appropriate to discuss in detail. I never lose.
I am proud to say that as a service professional myself I put the client first, regardless if I disagree with them. She should be fired and her wages garnished and sent to my bank account so I can afford to get it fixed. I even developed bald spots due to her aggressive and negligent processing. I've been dying my hair for years. The rations weren't correct and my scalp was scabbed for weaks. I told her what chemicals and brands I could tolerate. So she used those in I can only imagine is stupidity or passive aggressiveness. The irony is I chose her for all the positive reviews but I asked an old journalist friend (I was a reporter for awhile) to look into it and approximately 87% were friends, family, or paid for.
I will delete this review once the owner and stylist make public apologies and reimburse plus a monetary or gift gesture of contrition. If not, I will make into a news story. After all this doesn't just affect me. You suffer too from false reviews and I have a duty to help you. - Tonie A.Sacramento, CA715199Oct 27, 2020
Rachel was recommended on reddit when I googled curly hair cuts in Sacramento. This was my first time getting a curly haircut and man did I really need it! Rachel kept my hair nice and thick but still layered and voluminous. This has to be one of the best haircuts I've ever gotten. I keep playing with my hair! Going to the salon is like going to the dentist for me! I've had bad experiences before and I've only gotten my hair highlighted five times now. Rachel is the best and I highly recommend her. I'm so grateful to of found her !!

Blowout is the worst name for a service.
All I think about is my friends with kids talking about their unfortunate moments with diapers and poop strewn about. But I got past the name and finally decided to treat myself to a 'blowout'. I understand why they call it that, but my mind immediately goes to diaper problems!
Before I made my appointment here, I used Yelp to look up a few locations on the Grid. I called and emailed a few, just to be certain what their 'blowout' entailed. I decided on Maverique because they had plenty of time slots open (I called a week before the event) and was told I would receive a wash, dry, and soft curls -- or whatever the stylist thought would look good. It was very open ended.
This type of treatment is really over indulgent in my book. But I was attending a friends wedding and I didn't feel like doing my own hair. There's a first time for everything. Friends have done it and they turned out great, so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I was skeptical the entire time, just because I think spending money for someone to wash, dry, and curl my hair is beyond ridiculous.
Upon arrival, I checked in with the receptionist. This studio is lovely, modern, not crazy loud, open, and inviting. Their remodel was well done, as I've run past this salon for years!
I waited a few minutes and was offered a beverage by the nice receptionist. I dabbled in a little trashy mag time, until Ristina (sorry if I butchered the spelling) came to get me. Once she did, she brought me to her chair. She evaluated the situation. I had gross gym hair, because I was told they would wash it. So, I took advantage of it. She then took me to the shampoo area where I was treated to a nice shampoo with head massage. They entire shampoo area was completely packed, it was a busy Saturday.
Then back at her station she took her time to blow dry my hair, add volume, and chat with me. She was really sweet and it was an enjoyable time. After all my millions of strands were finally dry, she started to style it.
Bless Ristina's heart. I have a lot of hair. And that is probably an understatement. I had already shown her the dress I was going to wear to the wedding, so could see what she could do with my hair. She curled the mass and it looked awesome. I had mentioned that I thought pulling some of it back would work. Since her next client was late, she spent plenty of extra time with me and trying and untrying things with my hair. In the end we just kept it down with the curls.
My experience was great. It's the value I place on such a service, which has me hesitant to do this again. If my budget allowed, I'm sure I'd do this more often. It's a great service and even with all the extra stuff she tried on my hair, she only charged $40 in the end. Ristina' was awesome company and a stylist, I would recommend her for this service!
Parking Note - They do have a parking lot, on the side of the building with the mural. I think she said there is only about 6 or 8 parking spots. Peep there before you pay for street parking!
I guess I'll keep washing my own dang hair...Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 20, 2016
Having a beautiful head of hair is like having that perfect accessory, I just MUST have it. I get just that at Maverique. Every. Single. Time.
I love all of the stylist at Maverique. Many of the stylist have trained under the careful eye of Shannon (the amazing and wonderful owner) Marlin, who is up on the latest and greatest hair styles and colors.
They wont talk you into anything. Not even product. Their mission is to make you happy and look your most amazing self. If you want to grab product on your way out, they sell Bumble & Bumble (totally FAB product). Ive never seen it priced for less anywhere else.
If you're into funky or classic looks, you'll be incredibly pleased with your experience. If you're interested in a specific style, they will make it happen. They will also tell you if it wont work. isn't that what you want? We all can't look the same!
The stylist work with men and women. Remember to call and make your appointment. The receptionist is well versed with the different techniques of each stylist, and will book your appointment with the stylist who will care and meet your needs.Helpful 22Thanks 0Love this 21Oh no 0 - Briona B.Costa Mesa, CA3871710Aug 16, 2018
COLE is AMAZING ! I have super fine curly hair and she exceeded my expectations with going from brown to violet . She was super super patient with the consultation. I've gone to multiple stylist in sacramento and she is by far the best . She also gave me the most amazing blowout considering how curly my hair is . I left feeling SOOO beautiful. I am a FOREVER client . Thank you SO MUCH Nicole (:
Would recommend her to anyone !!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Allison R.Elk Grove, CA3032523Mar 9, 2017
I haven't gone get my hair professionally cut in about 2 years because I never trusted anyone with my hair. So after cutting my own hair for that long and getting tired of how uneven it was, I went in for an appointment with Nicole. I was sooooooo nervous about the cut but she made me feel comfortable and she made sure that my hair was in good shape. She took her time and was very precise with everything I love her! She will probably be the only one I trust with my hair
Also, she made my best friends hair beautiful! My best friend has naturally curly hair but her ends were dead and lost its curl but after she went in with Nicole, she came out with the most bounciest and beautiful curls! I haven't seen her hair like that in so long. Nicole works magic.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Susie M.Sacramento, CA917510Aug 27, 2016
I went to see Nicole Boller at Maverique for the very first time this afternoon. My hair was out of control enough to frighten small children. I didn't know what to do with it so I just asked Nicole to do her thing. Well, let me tell you, this woman has the gift. I'll post an accompanying picture and you can judge for yourself. This stylist has talent and savvy galore.
She gave me everything I wanted: a unique low maintenance look, respect for my curls and plenty of sass. Nicole, you are my go-to, and I'll love you forevah!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sandeep K.Natomas, CA, CA03Oct 5, 2021
The place is clean! They follow the COVID rules. I went back after a few years (had moved out of the area) and it was still the best.
