Mattress Firm Berkeley

Avoid this place at all costs. I purchased a mattress here and it was immediately defective. They refused to accept a return but worked out an exchange for another mattress, either a cheap one worth about half what I originally paid or I could get a new model if I paid extra complete with a warranty.

I paid the extra and the new mattress was also defective. They refused to accept any return or exchange and completely backed out of their warranty.

You are better off setting your money on fire and sleeping on the ashes before going to this store. Buy from one of the reputable retailers in the area or purchase a bed online, but whatever you do, do not shop here. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Today I bought at Berkeley Mattress Firm from Russell. Although it was a very inexpensive model, the customer service was so outstanding I'm still stunned!
Fabulous price and quality !!

Went by today and this is no longer open. Their website doesn't say anything, but the windows are papered over and a "for rent" sign is up.

Came in for a quick mattress purchase and was out in 30 min. Excellent selection and sales support.

Shout out to my man, Zack! Zack is the most knowledgeable, wise, kind, Mattress Jedi in the universe. He took me and my wife on a sleep cruise around his store. Showing us all the new technology and science that all these mattresses have these days. From cool feeling memory foam to adjustable bases that talk to my phone and tell me how I'm sleeping! In the end we ending up with a Tempurpedic on a Ergo base. We are sleeping better than ever now. So much so I've been late to work enough times to be on probation. It's only a 90 day thing and I should be ok. Thanks again, Zack!

Selection is not huge (small store) but if you shop other stores first or on-line to get a feel for what you like & want you should be able to work out a good deal here for the same or similar.

In general mattress stores seem to have fans and foes, no in between. I think if you first find out what you want by comparison shopping, then narrow it down to 2-3 specific models - you are ahead.

Then you are in a position to shop prudently not only a good price but for good customer service as well. Make sure there is no 'Fine Print' or something you will find out too late about.

Really great customer service and excellent price (Veteran's Day sale). Zachary was exceptional. They delivered within the first 15 minutes of their 2 hour window. Absolutely nothing to criticize about the experience (and I hate shopping for things like beds).

The only minor issue was their request for feedback that was texted to my phone. It was was not allowed to launch by my Bit Defender security software. This is usually a sign that they wanted to download too much data.

I slept like a king in my Beauty Rest mattress.
I purchased my mattress set from Jack, a great salesman. Very knowledgeable in all things related to sleep comfort. He led me to the perfect set for myself!
This was more expensive the online mattress sets, but they did have a sale and I did save over $400. Dollars.

Had an A+ customer service response to an issue. Mattress shipped defective from manufacturer (not Mattress Firm's fault). They stepped in quickly to shortcut the manufacturer's warranty process - saved me a ton of paperwork and quickly had the replacement to me. Zach was great about it. He probably could have just bounced me to a manufacturer's rep, but I could recognize that at some point he called an audible and got himself involved to set it right. Thank you!

3/5/2020. Update. I ordered the bed frame over the phone with Caitlin Waters on 2/26/2020. Eight days later there is no order tracking number. I called their customer service twice and they don't know where my order is. It feels like they are laundering money. Stay away from this fishy brand. I'm gonna cancel the order and try to get my money back. Wish me luck.

2/26/2020. It is 10:12 am, Wednesday. The store is supposed to be open. There is nobody in the store, the door is locked, and nobody picks up the phone. It is sad that I needed to waste my time by coming here.
