Wow this vineyard was pretty bad. There was a moldy air conditioner that blew us in the face during the tasting, their wines were predominantly sweet and awful, and the woman giving our tasting was not the friendliest or cleanest. They do, however, have a gorgeous view of the ocean with picnic tables on their lawn, so if nothing else I might get some food and wine from the adjacent Vineyard (Moonrise Bay Vineyards) and have lunch here.

When here today for Father's Day. We just wanted to spend some quality time with each other. This was a good place to relax and take in the view. Which is why we went. There is no food or pets allowed. The staff was very friendly they had a few souvenirs and other salad and chutneys but no real food. They also had nuts, chips and a few drinks. The peach slush was very good. The bathrooms are all portable potties. It's a nice place to take in the view and just enjoy the peace and serenity' of nature but not good for a picnic outing or anything dealing with a meal. We did not pick any peaches but the did have a few for sale along with some beautiful tomatoes.

Such an amazing experience! I came with my mom on a beautiful sunny Wednesday. Emily, the owner of the property, was such an amazing host. We picked fabulous peaches then headed over for the wine tasting, which was delightful. Emily talked about where the wines came from and shared what we could pair them with. Finally, we ended with a peach wine slushy, enjoying the Knotts Island Bay. The peaches are as good as the view and our amazing host!

This place sits right on the water, you can taste the wine for 5 dollars and keep the glass, you also can walk their vienyards and pickfruit of the season for a reasonable price. This wine is very sweet and tasty. They have 3 they make and bottle there and 3 others from another location. They sell them all for a good price. Take the drive it is worth is and enjoy the scenery. Dont forget to pack a lunch and enjoy some quite time in this little found treasure!

Came to pick up some peaches and wine and tried a peach wine slushy! It was amazing. They have a option to get the slushy without wine as well. Super cute place definitely gonna come back.

I had a nice time at Martin Vineyards today. It is in a rustic setting with a beautiful view of the bay. It's easy to find as there are signs along the road and the size of the island nearly precludes a visitor from getting lost. A caution: This is a small winery in the south so if you're expecting a Napa Valley style setting then you ought to rethink.

I arrived at around 1130 but the proprietor opened the doors to the tasting room for me regardless of the official 1200 opening time. It was just her and me but she led me through their selections and explained the varieties as I tasted them. I am not a huge fan of the muscodine grape but these are eclectic wines often mixed with other fruits so I had fun attempting to sniff out the influences.

The orchard was pretty and I was able to drive my Jeep down through the rows to what I thought was a ripe selection. I picked a few peaches and was notified by a helpful staff member that the better peaches were farther down the row. Next time I will know better.

This is a good little spot to spend 90 minutes if you're getting away from the seven cities for an afternoon. Martin Vineyards seems like a nice place for kids and adults alike. I recommend it and may venture back that way in the near future.

This was my haul from Martin Vineyards today. That's apple butter there on the right.

The male owner is incredibly rude. I'd be surprised if they ever have repeat customers.

What a great find! We took a chance even though there weren't a lot of reviews and I'm so glad we did. This farm is under some new ownership that is trying very hard to bring it out of a slump. Sadly the recent weather hasn't been in their favor, but that doesn't mean it's not worth it. The shop has wine from the grapes they grow. They also carry a wine from Raleigh NC. The lady in the store was extremely nice and vet friendly. The u-pick garden was great as well. Tomatoes, peppers, pumpkins, and grapes were ready when we went. We got a whole shopping bag of produce for just $10. We definitely plan on making this a regular trip.

Wife and I are pleasantly surprised how the new owners are turning this around. Great place for packing a picnic. Of course after having a wine tasting and picking out our favorite bottle or 3.

Ok.... Usually not a cynic but this place sucked! The open sign was on at 1:30 (an hour and a half after they were supposed to open) but no one was there. Numerous vehicles came and went anticipating the experience. When the lady finally arrived she acted as if her day was miffed by our presence. She quickly poured what the bottle said was a Viognier into plastic mouthwash cups before leaving the building. She did return to pour a startling rendition of what was labeled Chardonnay but tasted more like cough syrup before leaving again. The other two wines we sampled, merlot and muscadine, were pretty good; unfortunately between the lack of customer service and desire to present itself as a plausible establishment this left a sour taste on the tongue.
