Wow, this place is terrible. I go to Marie Calendar's occasionally when I travel and they aren't the best but they are definitely better than a Denny's. This location seems to be the exception. I had a bad experience here and thought maybe it was a fluke, but after a second try Id say its just a really poorly run location.
Employees seemed to be in pretty bad shape. Not sure if its drug use or too much partying after work hours but this place seems to have a collection of sketchy employees. Service is spotty and slow and food comes out slow and is not prepared well. Portion sizes are incredibly small also. I got breakfast and was shocked how little food I got, and its not cheap. Plus the signature breakfast bread is an extra cost at this location!
Id say just about anywhere is better to eat. Try Adell's down the street if your in the mood for good coffee Shop type food at a reasonable price.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dave M.Carson City, NV1462Aug 27, 2017
This place sucks. It is so dirty that eating off the bathroom counter in the park would be cleaner.
There restrooms are so disgusting that it turned my stomach. The windows are dirty. I can't even imagine eating one thing there. We left and had lost our appetite. Marie Callender's has gone down hill and should be looked at by cooperate. This one especially. Do the public a favor and close this location before someone gets a bacterial infection.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lindsey G.Edwardsville, IL32144159Aug 13, 2017
We stopped in for lunch after a 5 hour road trip. It was too early to check in to our hotel, and this place was right next door.
The only other patrons were senior citizens. I don't know if that's typical of Marie's, but it's literally the only demographic we saw. Our waitress wasn't the most attentive, but got the job done. I ordered the Shrimp Street Tacos and my husband ordered the Turkey Croissant Club.
I had to remind the server that mine came with pico de gallo, and I'm pretty certain it was missing the chipotle ranch I was promised. But... my tacos were EXCELLENT.... and here's the secret:
Ask go sour cream. Put that, the pico, and the side of beans they give you on the tacos. By themselves the beans are inedible, but on the tacos they're perfect. It's a bit of a "DIY" project but it's worth it.
My husband said his sandwich was just okay. The turkey was good and thick cut, but didn't work well with a delicate croissant. Also, a major turn off was the sticky floors and the fact that both bathrooms were nasty. I don't think this place deserves the two stars it has. It's a solid 3.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Teressa L.Gainesville, GA121759568Jun 9, 2017
Not super busy, but took over 10 min to get server to start taking orders. Seemed like there were several young men bussing food and cleaning tables, grabbing waters for people when they arrive, but only 1 server for the entire place. We were told we got a discount staying at the Best Western on site, but when we only wanted pie they declined the discount. Manager I believe is who brought out the food, I only saw the server once to order.
Pies were decent. Service not so much.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mary B.Eureka, CA1015189May 29, 2017
Always delighted with the pie and quiche!
Very nice wait staff. The place is always clean and inviting. French onion soup is absolutely wonderful.

Oh how I wish Yelp allowed ZERO stars
This is adjacent to my hotel and I remember they have a salad bar and I am exhausted so I decide to suck it up...Bad decision!
Walk in, I'm greeted with "all alone tonight huh ma'am?" I'm seated at a both for a family of 8..ugh. I should have taken the hint and moved on, but I'm not a quitter!
Server comes over and I ask for the happy hour menu - The happy hour that is so prominently posted in a large banner in front of the restaurant. His response - I think its the cheese sticks?! Strike two, but I am hanging in there.
I order the Eel River IPA - I'm sorry Ma'am, we're out of that. OK, I'll have the SN Ruthless IPA - Oh shoot, we're out of that too. Sigh - I should have walked then, but...
Ok what do you have - I end up with the SN Pale Ale.
Looking over the book of a menu...I decide to preview the salad bar - northing special and when I open the soup pots - GROSS!!!
I decide on the Top Sirloin - It's low cal and I am always looking to cut a few calories out so I can have more beer :-)
My server asks me "how would you like that cooked?" I respond as I always do - rare please and I am told that they cannot do rare - I say Excuse me? We can only do medium rare thats a health code violation.
WHAT!!! A health code violation?? I smile and say, I had a rare steak last night right up the street. He says, I'm sorry Ma'am (I hate being called ma'am!).
OK - Three, four, five strikes - You're out! I ask for the check for the beer that I really didn't want.
It's on happy hour - ha ha! $3.25.
A women comes to my table and tells me that a rare steak is now not a problem and would I like anything else...LOL!
No - Just the beer and this review.
I should have Yelped Marie Callender's!! I hope you do so that you don't have the experience I did.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - P D.Eureka, CA149417Feb 25, 2015
It is what it is. National chain food but emphasis on comfort food. Obviously a great pie selection. Next door to one of the top 5 hotels I'd recommend to out of towners. Lock you car doors at night though and don't leave valuables visible. It is Broadway in Eureka after all..
Not the best meal I've had but not the worst either. You know what your getting. Some servers are better than others.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Brian R.West Palm Beach, FL196320968406Jun 30, 2016
Enter and wait 8-10 min with no one seating and most of the restaurant empty at 8:45p. Send a search party out for your server. AND, you get the sneaking suspicion that if you're local you do a bit better on the service. The staff once seated was very nice but a few people were working their butts off while others just floating. Food is better than most chains in the Denny's IHOP and Applebees range, and how can you beat the PIE? Their pot pies and salad bar are rockin too. So, warts and all, it's still pretty good. Kudos to Brian for working at the speed of light!

This chain used to be good value and service. Not any more. Salad bar has about half the items it used to. The lettuce and spinach was limp with many brown pieces. The corn was slimy.
Service was slow. We were supposed to get corn bread with the salad bar, the waitress even asked if we would like some. We said yes. It never arrived, and the waitress vanished. While at the salad bar the busboy started clearing our drinks and silverware and almost made it before we got back.
We finished our drinks and water but our waitress still was missing. Finally my wife flagged down another waitress who refilled our water and told us our waitress was on break.
Fifteen minutes after we finished (approximately 30 minutes after we had seen her last), our waitress showed up to ask if we would like dessert. We said we'd like our bill instead. She walked away and a couple minutes later a busboy brought our bill.
At least we saved money on our tip. We won't be going to any more Marie Callenders.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Charlotte O.Fort Collins, CO111829Feb 14, 2017
I've always had the best lunches here. Their value menu keeps it light on the wallet and the servers are polite and helpful. Coffee cups always full and typically has a pretty mellow crowd.
