Well,
Forget the average rating this place is sooooo legit! We frequent Mexican restaurants and have a go to in Puyallup. We decided to hit the Enumclaw street fair and this was on the way back. The cheese dip is incredible the service was fun, quick, and extremely friendly. It's a new favorite for us and we will make the trip back! They were great!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 7, 2021
We've been coming here for a few years as a turnaround point stop on our bike ride from Orting to Buckley. We've both eaten inside and gotten takeout and ate at a park bench across the street depending on what Ms. Rona is up to.
Wait staff are friendly and quick; as is the food prep. You get free chips, salsa, and refried beans as soon as you sit down and all are very satisfying. We've tried various dishes over the years but usually end up splitting a plate of chicken taquitos which is large, crispy and full of chicken with enough lettuce and tomato and guac to seem a tiny bit healthy - okay, not really. The food is satisfying and hearty and flavorful - it's not gourmet but it's just what you would want and expect when going to a place like this.
We've also had the frozen margaritas here which are also large and generous. And they are not stingy with soda refills, either.
It's all pretty inexpensive too, although I say that as someone who comes from Seattle so your mileage may vary.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aimee Z.Seattle, WA941096Jan 23, 2023
Hands down the best Molcajete I have ever had, and I have had a lot as it's my go-to whenever restaurants offer it. Thick, creamy stew with pork ribs, steak, shrimp, and cooked to perfection. Even though Buckley is a good 90 minutes from me, we will be visiting on Sunday to get the Molcajete again. I don't think it's on the menu but they'll make it if you ask.

This isn't Mariachi Alegra anymore :-( it's changed ownership maybe and has a new name, Tequila Hacienda or something. Not bad but not as good as it was.

My boyfriend and a couple of our friends came to Mariachi for some dinner and drinks before heading to Maris Farms nearby. It's located by a couple gas stations and a bar if you're feeling like you need another drank after dinner, which is nice!
We started dinner off with drinks, of course. My boyfriend got a THIRTY TWO OUNCE margarita, and I got the "Loco." The margarita was tasty and STRONG. The Loco is made up of four different types of rum, pineapple, and orange juice. It was definitely yummy, and you could REALLLLLYYYY tell there was alcohol in it.
For dinner, I went with the Tortilla Soup. It was a cold, rainy night and I was still getting over a cold so that sounded perfect! I'm one of the weirdest people ever because I looooove everything in the tortilla soup BESIDES THE TORTILLA STRIPS because they get too soggy for me. That was the case this time as well - not their fault, I'm just a weirdo. The soup is a thinner tortilla soup, not creamy or chunky like some other places. The broth was packed full of flavor and a little bit of spice. Definitely hit the spot for me. It's a HUGE bowl that you get, which was a pretty good deal for $11 to me.
For both mine and my boyfriend's dinners plus drinks, the damage was only $56. Not bad at all, if you ask me!
From what I've seen there's not a huge selection in this area as far as restaurants goes, so... Mariachi is a decent choice!Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Scott A.Bonney Lake, WA0121May 25, 2022
This place has great food. Great service.
I have been here a half dozen times. I bring my whole family. My daughters, their husband, my grandkids, who ever I can share this place with. It's getting a 4 just because the last two times their food has been to Anglo, not enough Mexican. Go back to what you were doing. We have enough Anglo Mexican Restaurants in this area. Please.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 29, 2018
Cozy and friendly family owned Mexican restaurant. The place was not as busy as we thought. Saturday night crowds only filled a small portion of the dining room area. There is nothing too fancy about this restaurant, rather simple and homestyle.
The menu is extensive and featured various plates, soups, and even flavored margaritas. We were served fresh house tortillas, salsa, and beans to start. I had the mariachi margarita, carne asada plate, and large nachos. The mariachi margarita is huge and definitely shareable. There's not a lot of alcohol however the novelty of ordering and finishing a huge glass of margarita is entertaining. The carne asada plate is more than enough for 2 people. The meat was perfectly cooked to medium however a little bland. The large nachos had generous amounts of melted cheese which is how I like it.
Overall, the service was good, our server checked in, and water glasses were filled.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ian L.WA, WA07Apr 11, 2023
Delicious food. They get very busy so you'll have to be patient depending on the time of day but if day it's worth it! Staff has always been friendly!
