My husband bought me a gift certificate and I went to Jules to get my hair colored and cut. I love what she did! I'm going back to finish the color. She is very talented with color. Highly recommend her.

This is the cutest boutique in downtown Fairfax. Two levels with different little coves for the stylists decorated in beautiful wallpaper or decor.

I LOVED this studio...but when my master stylist left, they were unable to provide me another appointment with a stylist of the same caliber after being assured all appointments would be rescheduled. The customer service was horrible! The search is on for a new studio!

My first time here was amazing. I arrived and was greeted and offered a drink, then I had the most relaxing hair wash/head massage I've ever had. My stylist Paige was very friendly, listened to what I wanted, and spent extra time making sure I got a haircut I loved. The prices are extremely reasonable considering the services received. I will be coming here from now on.

I love getting my hair cut at Mara, not just because Austin knows how to handle my unruly hair and make it look great, but because the salon has an incredible vibe. It's fun, uplifting, and empowering. I love coming in here, looking around to see what changes Jana, the owner, may have made to the funky decoration in the salon (I want her to come and decorate my house), and wait for my appointment while sipping tea. I always feel like I'm getting more than just a haircut, and leave my appointment feeling energized. Afterwards I swing by the boutique around the corner, which is my go-to place when looking for gifts.

Folks, I have found my new salon. I have been to so many in NOVA with varying levels of success. I wanted to do something more colorful and fun with my hair so I really researched salons capable of doing this. And I found Mara Hair Studio! I booked a consultation with Kylie to talk about goals and then came back for my appointment a couple weeks later. Kylie was so great, talking me through each step and why it was important. And let's also talk about how precious the actual salon is. It's in an old townhouse so it's got such character and charm. All the stylists help each other out and jump in for extra hands, which is so nice to see. It makes it really feel like a friendly and supportive atmosphere. And I LOVED the end result of my hair!!! Gorgeous chocolate rose. A month or so later, I got it touched up but with more violet and I've been loving that too. This is 100% the salon I'm going to continue going to for all my cuts and color services.

TLDR: If you want the customer service to match the price tag, look elsewhere

From the minute I scheduled my first appointment, the barrage of texts and emails started. I haven't been to your salon yet & you're asking me to spend money at a random event I have zero interest in? No. And you sent the same email twice, plus sent a text about checking my email for "important info" (that wasn't actually important), because some clients supposedly didn't receive it? Also no. I don't mind appointment reminders, that's why you have my info, but this is excessive. Even after unsubscribing, they kept coming.

The final straw was when I received an email, text and phone call to confirm my appt within an hour of one another -- after I'd already confirmed my appointment twice. When I mentioned this to the woman on the phone, she told me they always do that. And I'm done. Cancelled my appt (which I'd confirmed four times prior to the call, seeing as I'd also replied to their text and clicked the email link the same day as this call) and the woman hung up on me mid-sentence. Thanks for confirming I made the right decision.
