      Terrible staff especially Billing dept
They are not transparent with their fees. Kept getting different amounts in several estimates. Never provided a clear breakdown. Having insurance doesn't mean anything, they don't bother to check benefits. Just want to charge upfront hrs away from surgery.
I truly felt abused and tortured by these people.
Such a pity to run a hospital this way.
Do yourself a favor and go somewhere with better client relations and honest rates.

      A THOROUGHLY DISHEARTENING EXPERIENCE.
I am a physician and a professor of medicine training medical students, residents and fellows. I was referred to MEETH for outpatient surgery. Even before arriving I was contacted multiple times (4 total) by staff at the hospital to review the same questions over and over. When I asked why the different sections didn't seem to be talking to each other I was told that they actually use different systems. The billing department even suggested I might want to pay my $2000 co-insurance before I had surgery.
Next I was told to arrive 2 hours early, at 5:30 AM, an unnecessary requirement since nothing happened for most of my pre-op time but certainly a burden on the patient.
Once I was checked in I was visited by a number of PCA's (still don't know what that means) to get prepared and have my vitals checked. No one used Purell on their hands upon entering my cubicle despite multiple signs suggesting that hands need to be cleaned when entering and leaving. One physician told me they washed their hands before they came to see me even though the Purell was next to the entrance of the cubicle.
But the real kicker was my time in the post-op area. Because my partner works full-time they couldn't pick me up for a while. I assumed this would not be an issue since I would be in a safe space until they arrived. However, the PCA who checked me in had to check with a manager if it would be acceptable that my partner not arrive immediately after it was decided I should get out of there (time is money after all and I was hogging a very expensive piece of real-estate).
All told I spent 2.5 hours in post-op during which time NOT A SINGLE PERSON APPROACHED ME TO ASK HOW I WAS OR WHETHER I NEEDED ANYTHING!
It appears to me that MEETH has set-up an assembly line to get people in and out with the least inconvenience to MEETH and their staff regardless of how patients are treated.
I have worked in non-profit health care at academic centers my entire career. This is not what medicine is supposed to be, not what I wish for myself and certainly not what I wish for my patients.
      Go someplace else.

Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital recognized for its accomplishments in ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and plastic surgery. My experience with the hospital has been centered around my sinus cavity.

The hospital has a welcoming efficient patient progression. Their staff is attentive and supportive throughout the presurgical course. And their nursing staff is magnificent while one is in recovery.

I personally would like to express my unequivocal appreciation for the care and professional attention that the hospital staff has provided me pre- and post-surgical.

This hospital has stolen from me and is guilty of fraudulent billing and falsification of medical records to validate the fraudulent charges. After attempting to resolve this, the hospital staff treated me as if I was their employee and spoke to me as if I was asking for a favor to have my stolen money refunded.

If you have a procedure at this hospital, be prepared to work with the state attorney general's office to deal with the likely fraud they will commit.

I am really happy my doctor is affiliated with this hospital. Having surgery is scary enough, but everyone here from the security guards to the anesthesiologist were friendly and helpful.

My nurse, anesthesiologist, and of course, my doctor, had amazing bedside manner and explained the procedure to me as well as my mom and sister who accompanied me. Their happy disposition kept me calm right before go-time and I really appreciated that.

Aftercare was mostly hands-off since it wasn't a major procedure, but I left there wishing all hospital experiences would be as peaceful and positive.

If you are coming here for a procedure, rest assured that you are in good hands.
