Mindy & co. have walked my pup off and on for the past three years. I shopped around to find the best dog walker in JP without spending more money than I had to, and I definitely found it here! I like that they focus on JP so that their clients are closer together. My pup can always use more time socializing, so I appreciate that a walk with a friend or two happens when possible. Or if not, she goes by herself, and that's fine too (at no additional charge). The price for a 30-min. walk has only gone up one dollar in three years; it's currently $16, which is cheaper than anywhere else for that amount of time. They accept PayPal for payment, which is super convenient since who has checks anymore?

Finances aside, what I really appreciate about them is their flexibility. Sometimes, our walking days would change each week, and all they asked is that we email on Sunday night to say which days we needed walks. Or we'd go several months without needing walks at all. All of that was fine with them, and they couldn't have been more accommodating. Oh, and my dog completely adores Mindy!

I just moved out of the neighborhood and am on the hunt for a new dog walker... it is not easy to find a good one that's reasonably priced. I really miss Mailman's Pet Service!

Mindy and her people are wonderful to their furry friends.
She was patient respectful of family house guidelines(quiet because napping baby. Left notes about daily walk )
Saw her at work for over a year and always patient with our dog

It's hard being a single doggy mom. Especially when you work long hours and the former doggy daddy isn't in the picture anymore and doesn't even acknowledge the existence of his once beloved pup. So, rather than shacking up with the next available dude who might make a decent dad to my 65 pound pit bull, I opted to explore the dog walker option.

So much cheaper. And the interview process is not nearly as tedious.

I was referred to Mindy by my neighbors who have two very dog-aggressive pups. And while Gus is not dog aggressive, per se, he doesn't like every dog he meets, so it takes a diligent and knowledgeable walker to ensure his and everyone else's safety. Mindy seemed to be right up our alley.

Mindy stopped by the house and met Gus. He loved her. Immediately. Kisses and jumping and that lean in dogs do when they are feeling particularly affectionate. She asked all the right questions and, when I had questions, she had all the right answers. She leaves little notes telling me about their walk and whether his business was appropriately done. Unfortunately Gus can be a total pain in the ass and his report card will sometimes read "Gus was a little stubborn today." Which means he probably refused to walk and threw a temper tantrum with his leash. Mindy puts up with a lot of bullshit.

But she never complains and I love knowing he's in such good hands. And I feel a lot less guilty when I have to stay at work late knowing that Gus has had an awesome walk that afternoon.

My beloved neighbor Jaime, a retired Puerto Rican Vietnam vet who spends most of his summer afternoons sitting on his porch, keeping an eye on the neighborhood, told me this: "That dog walker lady you got is a good one. Make sure you keep her around." And I always listen to Jaime's advice.

My dogs and I have been using Mailman's Pet Services since January 08 and I can't speak more highly of them. I'm one of those over-indulgent worry wort dog moms and there's no one on the planet I'd feel more comfortable taking care of my dogs.

They're extremely flexible, professional and most importantly caring. Even my neighbors speak very highly of their friendliness and promptness. Based on their notes and how happy my dogs are to see the crew, I can tell immediately that they really get my dogs and treat them the same way I do when I'm not home.

Mindy and Erin are spectacular. My dog was very sick and they recognized it, and alerted me right away. My dog is doing very well right now, living longer then expected. Mindy and Erin communicated with me on a daily basis, updates and helped me and my dog during a tough time.

They are very professional and mature, and genuinely care about their job and the pets they care for. The rates for Mailman Pet Services are very reasonable. I recently moved and have yet to find any comparable services. I highly recommend Mailman Pet Service.

Mindy and crew have been amazing with my 9-lb Chi/Terrier mix, Tessie. They are very affordable, reliable and accomodating. I feel like I'm always emailing to change things, and then never give me a hard time, they always accomodate me. Tessie is always a happy girl when I come home...and I love the little notes that Jonathan leaves me. I especially love reading that he uses her pink rain-coat on rainy days. ;)

Anyone that knows me, knows that I am crazy about my dog, so when I had to switch from doggie day care to a dog walker, I was a little nervous..but things have been going very well with MPS.

I filled out the online information form (from their website) and also left a voicemail about a week and a half ago. I have not gotten an email or a call back. As a potential new client, I find the lack of response unprofessional and annoying as I really need a pet sitter and was impressed with all the positive reviews. New clients beware, as they apparently have enough business and won't call you back.

Mindy and Erin took great care of my 3 cats over a 3.5 week vacation. When I came home the place was clean of all messes (and with 3.5 weeks, I know they had time to make quite a few) and the cats were well fed and happy. They're pricing is cheap and they've always been very accommodating to my busy and unpredictable schedule.

      Updated review

Just wanted to add an update as its two years later and we now have a second dog. Mindy and Erin are super accommodating and responsive to all my messages and last minute changes as my boyfriend and I sometimes have unreliable schedules. I really rely on and appreciate all their help and both my dogs love their time with Mindy!

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds...

My brother-in-law may be a hot dogs and beer guy, but when it comes to his dog, he is one picky parent. He shopped around extensively for a dog-walking service to care for his active, growing puppy. He chose Mailman's Pet Service and I'm so glad he did. When he unexpectedly fell very ill and was in the hospital for a few months, I was appointed godmother (dogmother?) and needed to coordinate all aspects of his hound's life. One thing I never worried about was who was walking the pup while I was at work. Mindy and Katy were a godsend, giving us peace of mind and adding a daily walk while we dealt with the human medical crisis - even saw us through the blizzard with ease! The pup made friends, went to the park, and Katy wrote notes about his activities each day that were sweet and funny. I highly recommend them to all you JPeople who have to part with your furry friend during your workaday life.
