I came to this location to put some veneers in. It's something I had always wanted to do but never got the chance. A co-worker told me about this location and recommended it since this is where she had hers done so I decided to give it a go.
The most irritating thing about this place is the amount of wait time you have in the chair. The dentist was always in and out and honestly, was more out than in. It was like he was working on 5 other patients while I was there.
Another irritating this is how pushy the employees are there about getting the whole set of veneers. I just wanted the top 4 but they insisted that I needed the top 6 0r 8 or I'd look funny..which I disagree with but whatever. One of the ladies spent a good 30 minutes trying to convince me!
This was the worst part - the dental hygienist that put my temporaries in did it in a shade darker than what I asked for. In result, they were distinctly darker than the rest of my teeth! I wish the dentist would have done it himself since I didn't fully trust the hygienist to begin with. She seemed so lost and unconfident.
Oh..I almost forgot. When it was time to get my permanent veneers in, they canceled my appointment (since the veneers weren't in yet) without telling me! I left work early and was so excited about finally getting these gross temps out and I go there and she tells me that my appointment had been rescheduled. Nice, right? It also ended up being rescheduled on a day/ time that wouldn't work for me. So I ended up rescheduling it for a week later which sucked.
The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 2 is because I appreciate that one of the hygienists used bubblegum scented gloves (lol) and because the dentist himself did a great job with my permanent veneers. They are great quality and he applied them extremely well.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christopher C.Madison Heights, MI05Nov 11, 2022
Should be zero stars if yelp allowed it.
Waiting room full of people... no one smiling.
Staff condescending and rude. Blame the other Made Ya Smile location for their incompetence.
The so called Could-not-get-into-med-school-so-I-became-a-dentist (Bruchmiller)... had the appointment switched from 1 pm to 11 the day before... I showed up for the 11 am then they asked me to move the appointment back to 1 bc of an "emergency" I'm already there.
Emergencies happen. So you call your patients for the day and inform them of the delay. Not jerk them around.
This place is rated 2.5 for a reason. Don't come here. Awful people. Awful dentist (Todd Bruchmiller). Every last one of them. Worthless. 100%.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - D'errika L.Orchard Lake Estates, Sugar Land, TX021Dec 15, 2022
I'm shocked to see this location has so many bad reviews. I've had 3 different visits here in the past few months for several different procedures. I had my 4 wisdom teeth removed, deep cleaning, follow up appointments and soon laser surgery. And every visit has been excellent!! The staff are wonderful, welcoming and generous! I had an anxiety attack during my first visit because dental work has always been uncomfortable for me. However, the staff ensured that I was going to be okay based off their personal experiences. They comforted me and made me laugh. They go above and beyond to provide great services. Now, every time I walk in, I walk out with a brighter smile than before . Long story short, I love this place :)

dishonest practice. Had a bridge that is supposed to be under warranty chip (full replacement free of charge). Came in to have it fixed and they said I have to pay a $88 dollar exam fee plus $475 lab costs. So their FREE replacement actually costed me $560. Totally dishonest and deceiving company. Also force you to get your teeth cleaned there after you get a crown/ veneers or else your warranty will not be valid. I do NOT recommend! Crooks!

Jeff. "deep clean" scam places where they hit you with a $700 bill on your first visit and refuse to do a regular cleaning". All I wanted is just to clean, if I cant afford the $792 and $8256 for 3 crowns.. I paid $79 for nothing .. Just offer a simple cleaning and you will get less 1 star reviews.... Not recommended.
Can you offer me a refund for my $79?Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I had been going to this location for a few years and on the first visit was told I had periodontal gum disease. I want to say that first time I paid between $600-1000 to go on their treatment plan for a year. After the year, the gum disease (according to them) was still there. I was scheduled for cleaning and routine maintenance every 3 months, but never once did the "gum disease" clear up. Each time I was questioned about flossing and brushing habits.
2020 I paid another few hundred dollars to go back on the same treatment plan. 2021, they started charging an extra PPE fee due to covid. I went back and forth with office staff on this because a dental office has to have that equipment anyway and I shouldn't be charged additional. Their office manage is SO unprofessional. She argues on the phone and over talks clients. You'd think after spending thousands at their office, they would have enough to cover the PPE they are using on me. That was the last straw for me.
I found a new dentist. I hadn't been seen by any dentist in 7-8 months and would you believe, they found no trace of periodontal gum disease??
I asked them more than once to make sure because made ya smile had been "treating" me for years and every 3 months and according to them I always had it. Mind you, my brushing habits and flossing had not changed at all. The dentist was positive I didn't have gum disease and told me they didn't need to see me back until 6 months and he sees no reason to see me any sooner. He cleaned my teeth and my bill was $0.
Avoid this place at all costs. They should be put out of business for fraud!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1Business owner information

I agree with many reviews stating they will try to upsell you on many procedures. Also, I was made to feel uncomfortable when deciding against a special $500 "laser" cleaning, as if I had wasted their time. Also, was told my "basic" cleaning would be covered at 100 percent. Well, it was sent to the insurance as a "specialty cleaning" (a level above a "basic" but below the "laser") that the insurance did not cover and ended up paying the difference. Please ask the office for the procedure code they will send to your insurance, then call your insurance FIRST to verify everything before letting them do any procedure on you. If not, don't be surprised when they bill your insurance for a service you truly didn't understand you were receiving.

I've been to different dentists over the years (I'm 45) and always been pleased with my experience. My visit to Made Ya Smile was easily the worst dentist visit I've ever had.
From the time the hygienist took me to the back to when I left was an hour and a half. This did NOT include any type of cleaning or service other than X-rays. I spoke with 4 different people and aside from the hygienist and dentist I'm not sure what roles the other two women held. The "spiel" that the hygienist gave me to tell me about the services offered and what I needed sounded like she gave it 10x a day and was rushing through it again. Even though I have insurance they proposed a $640 dollar cleaning and other work for me. At that point I said I needed to think about it. I was pissed and after that amount of time my teeth weren't even cleaned. They did give me a free teeth bleaching kit, I'll give them the 1 start for that.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Angela J.Garden Grove, Stafford, TX0134Jul 13, 2022
My husband had a horrible experience here. He was having some discomfort with his tooth. He scheduled an appointment at Richmond Made Ya Smile. However, before the appointment he starting having unbearable pain. So we called the emergency line to see if he could get some medication. The on-call dentist told us to go to the Sugar Land location as an emergency patient in order to get medication since the Richmond office was closed. We went on Friday to see the dentist. They said his tooth needed to be extracted and we decided to do an implant. The dentist said he would schedule the extraction later because they didn't have supplies to do the implant. We asked for medication for pain and infection, but the dentist said the tooth wasn't infected and that my husband didn't need pain medicine, he could use Tylenol. That night he was in so much pain he couldn't sleep. Over the next few days the pain got worse and his face became swollen and numb. He described his jaw as feeling locked and on fire. We called several times a day trying to get medication on both the emergency and regular lines. The dentist refused to send medication because he said his tooth was not infected. So fast forward to today, we called the office to ask if they could do his surgery today (7/13) since they never called us to let us know they got the supplies. We went in and his tooth, surprise surprise, was badly infected. So badly that his blood pressure was up and they had to wait to do his surgery. The dentist removed the tooth and placed the implant, but he may have nerve damage from their lack of care. We are beyond frustrated. This could have been easily avoided if the dentist had just listened to us. We will not come back to this location.

BEWARE! BAIT & SWITCH! WORST DENTIST IN THE AREA!
I saw a $79 new patient internet special which includes exam, x-ray & cleaning. Since I get a routing cleaning every 6 months and lost insurance because of unemployment. I wanted to take advantage of the the special before returning to work with new insurance.
The hygienist took pictures of my teeth and determine I needed 3 crowns because of some old fillings and she saw some decade under the filling with just a picture not an x-ray. Then she determine that I have severe gingivitis and I would need a $607 treatment. She made the decision before the dentist saw me. Then she coached the dentist before he examined me so he could agree with her.
I told her that my gums are healthy because during and after flossing I never bleed and the scaling on the low front teeth is from plague that builds up. This is why I have a cleaning done every 6 months.
Bottom line they will take your $79 and never clean your teeth. Try too up sale you on a none necessary dental work of $2381.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
