I went to this cafe on a beautiful sunny day. I loved the amount of sunlight in the cafe.
The decor is quite contemporary and seems to be suitable for working from cafe

This is my most frequented Macrina location. Since it's near work, I'm often picking up food for lunch meetings. I will call ahead to put my order in and pick up at the designated time. Shay, Gretchen & crew are amazing to work with.
The carne salad and sandwiches rotate every two weeks. I'm also a fan of their morning glory muffins and desserts. There's something for everyone here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Feb 5, 2024Updated review10 check-ins
I love Macrina. The prices might be a little high, but you're getting high and pastries and coffee! I noticed my last review was seven years ago and honestly the customer service has improved quite a bit since then. There are still a few grumpy faces behind the counter, but sometimes that just happens. The bakery case is usually full of so many delicious items that it's hard to choose. I'd really recommend the blueberry scones because they're full of berries and jampacked with flavor. I also love the biscuits because they are hearty. But you really can't go wrong! They also have some really great options for healthy light lunches

Customer Service is touch and go. They seem to do better they they are busy.
Today wasn't as busy (two of u in line) but they made the guys behind me's drink before mine and I saw the cashier sneeze into her hand two times without washing afterwards.
Still, it beats Starbucks in terms of food. Their lunch combos are delicious as well. - Aug 3, 2023
Mmmm, really glad I came across this location in Sodo-last time I recall visiting an actual Macrina cafe was 15 years ag when I lived in capital hill.
Allllll the pastries and baked goods are delicious, oh boy. I got some blueberry scones to take home and they were scrumptious (we added some creme fresh and blueberries) with coffee for breakfast.
The chicken pot pie was amazing. My husband took one bit to taste it but ended up eating the whole thing. The sandwiches were made fresh and nicely toasted.
I visited on a Tuesday around 10:30 a.m. and it was pretty busy with lots of folks enjoying themselves inside. Limited parking.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 12, 2023
I loved this place. The interior was adorable, and that was just the start. I ordered an iced vanilla latte to be on the safe side, and threw in a raspberry-rhubarb upside down cake. Turns out they make their own vanilla sugar. The latte was really good! I then tried my sister-in-law's mocha and it was even better! The upside down cake was pretty good, but the real showstopper pastry was the pecan roll my husband ordered. Whew! It was crunchy, soft, sweet, but not too sweet. It was perfect. I would've bought 10 of them if they had them.
I wish this was closer to me! Or maybe I don't for my wallet's sake.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 13, 2023
I stopped by Macrina Bakery & Cafe at their SoDo Location. This is a nice space that's perfect for getting some work done, which is a real anomaly in this neighborhood. At lunch here, you'll find sandwiches on their fresh bread, as well as salads and pasta. If you're lucky, the cake samples will come out. Overall, my experience was lukewarm primarily due to the customer service or rather lack thereof. I understand this is a bakery /cafe and it can get busy but a smile to greet paying customers will definitely not hurt.
Bread / Sandwiches were good hence the 3 stars.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 31, 2023
Stopped by here on a Friday morning. One of the friendly and helpful employees helped us order a Mocha, Cappuccino, Cate Sandwich, and an Almond Croissant. The drinks and food were ready in 5 minutes. I would say the coffee tasted pretty standard. However, my wife loved their cate sandwich. The croissant was very delicious as well. Overall I would say their bakery is much better than their coffees.

Soooo Good! Truly clean and comfortable space and food that is freshly made and really good! The service is friendly and they are patient as you try to figure out which of the delectable items to have. Once you've figured that out they are efficient and amazing!

My hubby and I've been here many times and love all bakeries and Sandwiches even drinks. We parked cross street and walked in the store. We bought espresso and pastrie this time and headed to the DT Seattle event. If you come here, you should come in the morning. Last time I came in the afternoon, there weren't many items in the bakery.
