Cowboy John's Smoken BBQ

I came across smoking John's at a recent Surf 'N' Suds beer fest out in Ventura & it hit the spot for sure. I had their tri tip sandwich & a baby back rib, the guy in the truck told me I'd be back for more of the ribs, if it wasn't trying to keep room in my stomach for more beer I totally would have been back for more.

They had a spicy BBQ sauce that I tried on my tri tip sandwich, & a sort of sweet sauce that I tried on my rib both were pretty good.

Besides the food I'll say my favorite thing about John's is that their prices aren't overly inflated for a food truck. The prices are pretty much on average with an actual sit down bbq restaurant.

I'll make this short and sweet. The food is pretty good . . . that being said you will wait a very long time for it. Not only will you wait an unnecessarily long time for your food but you will be scoffed and and talked down to for simply inquiring when said food might be arriving.

I wish I could give Cowboy John's a better rating but service is important too guys.

I had their food at a brewery and I know it was busy; but I ordered a single beef rib and it took 30-45 minutes to get my order.

That being said the rib was pretty good. It was smokey and the sauce was flavorful. Unfortunately the rib was also mostly fat. Succulent, flavorful, juicy fat but mostly fat. The meat that was there was delicious and tender and wonderful if a bit salty. I may have hit them on a busy day but overall I'm a bit disappointed.

Also, I know busy is busy but when I asked what number they had just called they were grouchy and short. I wasn't trying to cause problems, I simply wanted to know if you were on 54 or 64 as the later was much closer to my number.

We used Cowboy John's for our winery grand opening this weekend (Lester Family Cellars) and he made some of his amazing BBQ sauce from our Zinfandel and made our opening really successful! He has a big following and his fans came into our winery to taste. The food is remarkable. The service is a step above. You'll be seeing him at our winery again for sure!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.... I came home from work and had the slow smoked chicken and it was delicious! The chicken came right off the bone and it was extremely mouth watering! Def recommend

We had Cowboy Johns at Santa Paula Airport last weekend the food was amazing large servings and a fair price.

I recently tried Cowboy Johns at Made West Brewery. I was not impressed with their bbq as their sauces are super watery. I like a thick sauce. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was a drippy, flavorless, fatty mess. The tater tots and seasoned fries were very good!

The pulled pork sandwich from Cowboys John's is so good! Just the right amount of sweet and spicy. Also try the tri-tip, you won't be disappointed. Catch them at some of the local breweries and pair your sandwich with nice cold one.

We were anxious to try this BBQ food truck at Enegren. Excellent food prepared quickly and delivered to our table. Everything we tried was delicious - BBQ chicken sandwich, brisket sandwich and tater tots were all great. Can't wait to try this food truck again - we heard the grilled cheese with BBQ chicken is amazing.
