1st time to OBX with a family of 4 and needed an easy place to come and watch the WNCAA game. This place is a Gem! Tons of TVs, great food and menu. What sets this place above even most places is their Bourbon selection! This place has top shelf allocated bourbon at decent prices. Friendly staff to top it all off.
If I were to say the one con is there are not many tables. We came on a Monday at 630 during the off season and the place was packed. This place would be packed even with a bigger space which speaks to the quality you get here!
If we ever find our way back to OBX we will come back for sure!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 5152508Dec 26, 2023
We decided to come here during the 12 Bars of Christmas since this establishment was the vision and originator of the OBX Christmas pop up bar. It did not disappoint with festive decorations and an extensive menu of holiday cocktails and food. My husband and I ordered the Don Featherstone's Old Fashioneds that were by far the best old fashioneds we have had. It was made with a homemade vanilla syrup and garnished with a luxardo cherry and a dried orange. We wanted to get a taste of a number of menu items so we ordered a slice of cheese pie, a Caesar salad, the Turkey Burger with fries and the Veggie Philly. The Veggie Philly really was our favorite dish while the other three we probably will not order again. We enjoyed drink and food there and look forward to returning.

So Lucky 12 is right down the street, within walking distance. The menu has a very wide range of pub type food. We had Old Fashion and a chardonnay to start. The OF was very nice, so nice I had a second one with dinner. LOL. Started with Buffalo shrimp as an App., wow the sauce was a perfect blend of mold spice and the shrimp were nice size and very tasty! For entrees, my wife had the crab cake and fries, she loved it. It was topped with a corn medley, which was weird at first, But it grew on me. I had the buffalo wings and a salad and it was spot on. The buffalo sauce was a perfect level of heat and real nice size wings. Salad was good with funky lettuce and fruity vinaigrette dressing was delicious.
Side note, the have some arcade games...pinball and Mario's brothers.
Forgot pics of the food, my applogies.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Kim G.Powells Point, NC25201365Dec 23, 2023
I made reservations for the holiday ice fishing shed for 8 of us on Thursday night. We all arrived right on time and were escorted right through the restaurant and out to our "shed". It was decorated with fishing accessories, electric wood stove and seating that was rustic. Our waitress was excellent, very attentive and friendly. We all ordered drinks from the very festive named cocktails. (All really good, too good) then appetizers, fried pickles, very good and baked Brie with crackers, also good. Dinners came soon after. Everyone enjoyed theirs. The entire experience was so much fun, my only critique would be to make the seating accommodate 8 better, the table was too small and we could only fit 6, the other two had a separate high top table and would've liked everyone together. Overall Excellent, definitely make reservations as soon as early December.

We stopped for lunch on a random drive and man was it good! I had the chicken sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The chicken breast was fresh, hand breaded and seasoned perfectly. The fries were also the same. I would for sure stop again.

Decorated in signage images reminiscent of the glory days of highway travel and situated on the edge of Virginia Dare Trail, Lucky 12 Tavern is a lucky find. I was surprised to find the menu offered more than traditional tavern food. After a long day on the beach we grabbed a drink, appetizers, and dessert.
Though I normally do not find gin refreshing, the Bermuda Triangle was a great Oceanside choice. The balance of sweet pineapple and hot jalapeño was perfect.
The Buffalo shrimp were large and served in a sauce that offered flavor in addition to heat. The crab bites were mini, grilled crab cakes served with a spicy remoulade.
We finished the evening with cinnamon bread pudding that any southern host would be proud to serve.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sandra L.Wakefield, MA05213Jan 11, 2024
From the Boston area, spending Jan & Feb in Kills Devil Hills. Read good reviews and stopped in for dinner. We sat at the bar had a beer and ordered the tuna entree with Brussel sprouts, red pepper risotto, and an order of fried oysters. All were excellent! Highly recommend.

We stopped in for the holiday pop up bar experience - what fun! They are decked out for Christmas. Great themed drink & food menu. My Mom really liked the sweet potato biscuits with country ham & honey mustard. Christmas tunes playing, bartenders having fun with it too. Go before the season ends!

Price was a bit high, regular burger was burnt (possibly a frozen burger)
Server had a small attitude when we asked about kids drinks but hostess was nice.
Kids enjoyed the chicken tenders and fries.
Turkey burger was good. (Hockey puck type, possibly frozen), charged an extra dollar for a slice of cheese however wasn't told about that.
Kids meals do not include a drink which was strange. Ginger ale needed syrup and soda was "watery".
