      Most of the workers are helpful and friendly but one evening me and my husband went in looking for something and we ask 2 people that worked there if they could tell us where the item we were looking for was located but they simply said I don't know and went on about their business. Another worker must have overheard us ask the other 2 employees and he came up and said he would help us and he did.

      Truth is, I generally like Home Depot better than Lowes, but here in Front Royal, it's Lowes. We have a little independent place in town too, but most of the staff there doesn't understand their products and applications, and doesn't seem to care. So, for the last few years, I've done most of my hardware store shopping at the Front Royal Lowes, even bought a riding mower and a couple of appliances from them.
      They're imperfect, but the staff is generally friendly and helpful, and when they don't know the answer they collaborate with team members to get an answer, which I've seen them voluntarily do quite a number of times. I really appreciate genuine effort like that.

      Now, if they could get rid of that annoying, periodic Covid safety info off of their PA system. What do think this is, Portland?

      Today I needed to purchase three toilets for a home upgrade-project. I didn't know much about toilets but had a recommendation from our contractor. A lovely young man named Marshall helped us learn what we needed to know to make our selections. He could not have been more helpful. He loaded them on a cart, helped us check out, and loaded our purchases into our car. He was knowledgeable, kind, patient, and very very accommodating. Lowes has a very valuable employee in Marshall..

      Unpleasant Kitchen Renovation:
      We highly recommend locating a local contractor to perform your kitchen renovation and purchasing materials somewhere other than here. We started our Kitchen renovation planning in November and as of February 22, 2021, it still isn't done. The cabinets took about 1.5 months, Lowes of Culpepper, VA cancelled two of our appliances stating the manufacturer cancelled them. I spent 3 hours on the phone with Lowes via two calls to try and reorder the two appliances they cancelled. The delivery dates were well into the end of March. I didn't think we had a choice so we ordered those two appliances. After searching on the internet, I found that we were able to order the two appliances direct from the manufacturer without any issues. So, I cancelled the two that we reordered through Lowes. Also, when Lowes of Culpepper, VA cancelled the two original appliances, we lost-out on the sale price package raising the cost of our other appliances. No one from Lowes coordinates the flooring, cabinets, and granite install and tear-out despite you paying for all of these things through them. You have to try and guess which process starts first and call each to coordinate them. It's a mess. No one from the Front Royal, Virginia store bothers to return your calls or emails either. We told Lowes Corporate of our challenges but kept being passed around from customer service to install (who are not pleasant at all). Lowes Corporate told us they would have the store management contact us, but they never have. We spent about $36,000 in products and services through Lowes to renovate our kitchen and it's been the most unpleasant renovation experience of our life. The Lowes Cabinet contractor ripped-out our cabinets and appliances in January and the flooring was supposed to be next, however, the Lowes Flooring contractor cancelled twice, once for automobile troubles and then next for "weather." Lowes corporate told us there was nothing they could do until we told them that they either call the contractor or we call our attorney. Finally, install called the flooring contractor and told us the flooring contractor would call the next day to schedule something for the next few days. However, the flooring contractor called back and told us that they cannot perform the flooring for another 12 days and told us it would about one week to tear-out and install. Once Lowes installs the flooring, the cabinets have to be installed, granite template performed, granite cutting and installation, and then appliance installation. Keep in mind that you must call Lowes to deliver your flooring materials because the installer does not pick them up (no one told us that either until we enquired to corporate). Once the flooring contractors showed up, they did not know that they had to rip up the existing hard wood floor and did not have a truck to haul it away. We had to show them the contract indicating that were to remove the existing hardwood and have them call their management to confirm. They also did not have hardy backer screws and asked us to go buy them. So we did. Then they told us Lowes did not deliver all the bags used to complete the tile work and they called Lowes of front royal to resolve. The flooring contractors told me that Lowes of Front Royal had the bags at the front customer service desk and to go get them. Once I was there, they put me through the wringer insinuating that I was being deceitful and telling me that I had no proof that we did not receive some of the order, despite the flooring contractor calling them. So, I left without the product shortage and purchased it from another store. Also, we went to pick-out our granite slab and they only had one slab of the product we chose and it looked almost nothing like the granite we chose. We have never been to a granite place to pick-out our granite slab and there only be one slab that you are stuck with. We will easily be without a kitchen for another 1 month at least now with no apologies from Lowes corporate or the Front Royal Store. This has been an unacceptable disaster. Home Depot will now get our business. Rethink doing your kitchen renovation through Lowes unless you wish to experience the same mess as we are currently experiencing.

      This review is specifically for a young man nnamed Erich that works in customer service. I frequent Lowes often and whenever I need help in customer service, he always on every occasion has been extremely helpful. Erich really goes above and beyond to help me. Last night I was going to order something on the App because I couldn't find it in the store. Right away Erich says to me...we do have the item here now, let me walk you over and show you exactly where it is and sure enough it was where he showed me. I was very thankful that I didn't have to go through the trouble of ordering it and having to come and pick it up.

      Yesterday wasn't the first time Erich has gone out of way to help me. There have been many occasions and that is why I am taking the time to write this review!


      Erich is an employee who really goes the extra mile. I hope that his manager sees what an amazing employee he is and promotes him up the ladder within Lowes. He really deserves to be that employee who is acknowledged and encouraged to progress in the company. Thank you Erich for your help!!!!

      waited for 2 weeks and was told different times to wait at home for 4 hours for a grill to be delivered. Finally it arrives, 2 hours late and the grill is in a box. it was supposed to be assembled. Spoke to manager Mark at the store, he was unpleasant and simply said they will look into it. We just asked for a refund and will purchase from Winchester lowes where they can actually accomplish something as simple as this order.

      Some of these reviews are hilarious.

      Lowe's here was on point, items were easy to find, the staff eager to assist, even as we walked in asking if they could help us find something. When we told him we were looking for a soldering iron, he knew exactly where to take us, which showed his knowledge of the store.

      I've never had an issue while visiting, and would always return.

      We're just starting a kitchen remodel and are in the process of comparing Home Depot vs Lowe's for countertop selection. The service person was surly, preoccupied and refused to provide any sample pieces: "we don't do that".
      Really?
      Why would I do business for thousands of dollars with this kind of attitude?

      On Monday (Oct 1) of this week, I purchased a $2,000 Husqvarna riding mower. It was delivered today (Oct 5) by some pretty nice delivery personnel. I asked them how to start it, but they had to leave ASAP. I now understand why they could not help start it -- dead battery. Why would I want anyone to purchase a very heavy, non mobile lawn mower? Lowe's certainly had sufficient time to put any new mower on a "trickle" charge prior to delivery.

      Friendly staff but most stuff is junk. New items missing prices number of times. 3 star because they distribute but may not be there fault entirely quality is low or maybe it is....how am I to know. This is closest to my house 40 min away so when I buy something it's 40 min each way + fuel + time. Tired of wasting my time on broken stuff!
