2 of my girlfriend's were in town, one who's from "The D" and the other is from Cleveland. My girlfriend from Detroit sugguest Louie's and I'm glad she did (but I'm also mad she's just now telling me...lol)
Our group was pretty big, so we had a little bit of everything...and everything was good.
Navy Bean soup - flavorful and hearty
Gyro - I wish the gyro meat was carved, but the homemade tzatziki sauce made me forget all about that
Strawberry cheesecake stuffed French toast - the toast was light and fluffy, very good
Sausage biscuits and gravy - "chefs kiss". I'll have that next time, for sure
Fried shrimp - perfect blend of crunchy/crispy breading and perfectly cooked shrimp
And the service - even better than the food. There were 6 of us in our party and we never waited/wanted for anythingHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Savannah B.Warren, MI496479Feb 23, 2024
My absolute favorite breakfast place. Great lunch too. The family that runs this place is so kind and loving, I've been coming here with my mother for years. I always get the eggs Benedict for breakfast and my mom always sticks with a good old ham sandwich. Ham is nice and thick cut, super delicious on some thick rye bread! They have an amazing selection to choose from, for breakfast and lunch and I've never tried anything that was bad! The atmosphere is cozy and you get taken care of every time no matter who's serving you. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a new diner.

Adding a star for the service. There are two sisters (Dad owns the place) that are just outstanding. Always fast, always with a smile. Today the younger sister, Chenisa (I hope that's right) had a very difficult customer and handled it so well. Very impressive for such a young lady. Also, I highly recommend the Louie's Skillet.

Has a smaller menu than the other locations. Wasn't sure what to expect but it was very nice, clearly updated within the last 5-10 years. Great service, clean and breakfast was outstanding.

No frills type of place with good and simple honest food and impeccable customer service. Have never had a bad meal or poor service here!
Located in Eastern Market and a great stop for a lunchtime sandwich or breakfast is great here as well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Thaddius M.Hazel Park, MI010Aug 10, 2023
An absolutely excellent establishment. The focus on ham and corned beef is wondeful yes, but they also have wacky little things on that menu, like a burger with jalapeños and and chicken bacon melt, stuff like that. Generally something for everyone. Staff is also pretty great and seems to enjoy working there for the most part. Had a waitress stick up for her co-worker who was being accosted by rude customers on a busy day and the rest of the staff was behind the decision. I appreciated this. Just wish they were open more often. Now, it is a little dear, quite a bit of coin for a bit of the ole corned beef. But, I still love the place. God bless ya, Louis.

Great place to go for not only sandwiches, but also for breakfast. I love the gyro omelette from here. My other favorites are the steak hoagie and pastrami sandwiches. Nice sandwiches as well.

Excellent local diner. A place where if you're regular they know your name. New customers are welcomed. Good breakfast specials and big portions. Nice quick service and they don't mind if you linger a bit. Just a mile off Van Dyke. I would definitely eat here again the next time I'm going n Warren.

Have had breakfast here many times. Everything has been delicious and filling. Family run business and they are polite and friendly. Place is clean with nice seating and is popular with the locals. Anytime I am in the area, I make it a point to go here.

Louie's Ham and Corned Beef was a great surprise to find at 9 mile and Hoover. I was looking for a new place to check out for lunch and my boss suggested this place. A great family owned restaurant which makes awesome sandwiches, and other things. I've gone in and had three different sandwiches and all have been delicious. If you have read any of my other reviews, you know that I like to work my way through a menu. But I will have to say that their turkey, coleslaw, cheese and Russian dressing sandwich is my favorite. I love the fact that you can get a half sandwich and a bowl of soup. It's great for those days you don't necessarily want to have any leftovers. Prices are reasonable and the food is plenty. They have a great clientele, which seems to be mostly regulars. A great testament to their food and service.

A diamond in the rough...
Over the last few months Louie's has become one of my top 2 breakfast spots. Each and every time I come here the food has been delicious, the service impeccable, and a full tummy on my way out.
You literally can't go wrong with anything on their breakfast menu (I've never ate here for lunch). From the country skillet to the strawberry cheesecake French toast, to the biscuits and gravy, TO THEIR HAMMMMM, everything is tasty. Even their coffee has become one of my favorites.
But what tops off the amazing food, peachy service, and a food baby? The price.
Our bill is typically $22 for two people, and for the amount of food you get it's worth every penny.
Louie's has earned a five star for every single experience I've yet to have. So if you're ever in the area, definitely make a stop here. I guarantee you won't regret it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
