This is a well shaded camp ground with over 40 sites. It's right on the water with a small store in the marina. The toilet block is kept clean all day and there are showers here. Some sites are not good for tents as some of the terrain can be hilly. All sites have electricity and the sites further up the hill have hydrants. These grounds are kept very clean and the staff and rangers are friendly. it is always patroled by the local police. it is in a dry county so alcohol is a no no... there are plenty of swimming spots and a park for the kids.

We went for a motorcycle ride today looking at campgrounds to camp at. This was one that we decided to cruise through on our journey around the lake. We stopped at the gate house and picked up a pass. The flimsy laminated pass kept falling off the bike as we drove through the camp. It fell off the last time near the marina so we pulled over at the closest parking spot so that I could run back and pick it up. It was nearly 100 degrees today so at this point we figured we would stretch our legs for a minute and walk down to the Marina for a cold drink which was less than 100 yards away. We grabbed a quick drink and a bag of fish food to feed the turtles, fish and geese while we quenched our thirst. As we we leaving, we stopped at the gate house to drop off the pass. The Senior Couple who were running the gate house were just down right rude and pissy (lack of better words). At first we thought they were joking with us but then we realized that they were Angry with us because we stopped for a 5 minute drink that we parked in a "Day Use" parking spot next to the road and not the actual Marina Parking. We don't know what the big deal was bc it was not as if the parking spots were scarce or anything. There were plenty of spots available and we didn't keep anyone from being able to park. At least we used an actual parking spot bc several vehicles were just parked anywhere. When we realized they were actually angry with us, we did not contest and politely offered to pay the full $5 Day Use Fee even though we were in the park less than 20 minutes, I even tried to hand the old man a $5 bill but he refused to take it but he made sure to continue to scold us for nearly ten minutes keeping the other patrons from being able to leave. I felt like throwing the bill at him and telling him to shove it where the sun doesn't shine because of his attitude. We were completely friendly and apologetic the entire time even though they were scolding us for "taking advantage of the facility" and did not deserve the tongue lashing this man dealt us for just parking and running into the Marina to spend our money at their facility. We should have just waited and spent our money at the gas station down the road instead, our mistake. We won't be back to this camp ground for any reason if we are going to be treated the way we were. There are plenty of campgrounds around the area. We drove through several parks today as well where the attendants were extremely friendly, so unlike this parks attendants. When we decide to go camping, we will definitely choose another location.
