Q:
The service & food here is always amazing but does anyone know if this restaurant is still open? I've tried calling for the last couple of days to put a catering order in and no one picked up the phone. Alguien sabe si el restaurant sigue abierto?
A:
Yes, they are open. They never answer the phone but they are open and they have another location called Mechos off of New York Ave.

Going to visit tonight. Where is the best place to park?
A:
Right around the corner is a parking structure for Target. Best place to park and short walk to Los Hermanos.

Los Hermanos is a delicious, clean and fast casual Dominican restaurant. Dine in or take it to go. They also have hard to find Dominican delicacies for sale. I'm Boricua and it taste like homecooking to me!
I go for the chinola (parcha, maracuya, passion fruit) and always get my arroz con gandules (guandules), pescao (fish), and amarillos (yellow plantains). If you want an authentic Dominican breakfast order Tres Golpes!
The brothers are a community treasure. They are more than a restaurant they are a community institution in Columbia Heights, Washington, DC.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 26, 2024
Since I've moved to DC, I've been craving Dominican food! I'm coming from Boston and Dominican spots are very prevalent, so I ate Dominican food pretty regularly. I currently live in SE DC, so not very many Dominican spots near me. Most are across the city. I happened to be in the Columbia Heights neighborhood yesterday, and I remember a colleague telling me that would be a good neighborhood to check out Dominican food. She wasn't wrong. I pulled up google maps and noticed one within 5 minutes from me. I made my way over there!
I will say there were a lot of food options when I arrived. This place is popular. In the half hour, I was there so many people came in and out. The line so move kind of slow, though. There were only two women on the floor, but the food was worth the wait! I ordered arroz con gandules, pernil, platanos maduros, and a side of vegetables. They filled up my to go box, and the food was so good! The only point of criticism is that the food was a little too salty for me. I generally add salt to my food, but here they definitely season it a lot. If I lived closer to here, I'd def frequent this spot more, but at least, I know where to go whenever next I'm craving some Dominican food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 1, 2023
Really yummy and flavorful food for an affordable price. It's like a lunch line and you can pick what you want, portion sizes are also very large. I honestly do not know the specific names of each thing I got as the person helping us didn't speak English but the rice and beans were so flavorful and the chicken was so soft and moist. We got what looked liked chicharron and the red haberno sauce was so good and acidic with it. Not much of an ambiance, it's more of a take out kind of place but we still ate there.

Awesome authentic Dominican food in DC! They have no menu and you go straight to the counter and let you know what you want. You will pay at the end depending on how much you get. I got their rice, plantains, chickens, and ribs. Everything I had was super delicious and the meat was really tender and very flavorful. The line was fast and efficient and plenty of tables to sit down at. Only street parking is available and it is very limited. If you are looking for Dominican food in DC give this place a visitor local, authentic, and great service.

I have been coming here since 2018. The quality and the taste never disappoints. My favorite is the crispy chicharrón and mangu.

Great food, reasonable prices, what more can you ask for? Glad we found this place while in the area shopping. The rice and pernil were done perfectly, and the flan for dessert was a great finish. Found a new go to spot when in the area.

Actually insane
When coming here for the first time they didn't have any menus sitting out so the lady just told me to pick a meat two sides and rice/beans. Pretty easy and idk what else they've got but my plate was amazing and I've been back quite a few times since. Chicken and plantains are 10/10. Servings are also great for the price point.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 3, 2023
Food is always on point.
Tried their pernil, chicharrón, tostones, rice and beans, mangu, etc. Always have a good variety of dishes available. Two visits of to-go and plan on a third and maybe more.
Service is good. Never had any issues with them and they're pretty efficient. They have a decent amount of tables for a sit down and a couple of tvs to watch games. Worth more than a try.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 26, 2023Updated review
Their food is always delicious. Empanadas are addictively good. Their various stews are hearty and delicious. But what I was most impressed with was their roasted vegetable. It sounds so simple and common in any restaurants but many restaurants don't cook right. They can be mushy, bland or just disgusting. Los Hermanos makes the best roasted veggie. Crispy, fresh and full of flavor - one of few restaurants I truly enjoy eating vegetable. Staff is always friendly. Hands down to this family owned restaurant! It's a must-visit restaurant in Columbia heights!

Thank you for the great review Aya! We are thrilled you enjoyed the stew and pulled pork, hope to see you again soon!
Dec 10, 2016Previous reviewThis place is AMAZING!!! The atmosphere is very friendly, the food is delicious and so cheap! I had yellow rice, beef stew, pulled pork, potato salad and bottled soda for $12.75. It was too much and became two meals for me. The meat is S tender and the flavor of potato salad is one of the best I ever had. This is now my go-to place in Columbia Heights.

Ordered with friends and recommend. Great price, servings, quality of food. Chicken was so moist. Flavor was on par. Empanada was unexpectedly too good. Worth trying!
This is the spot I'll think of to treat myself if I want a warm full meal.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
