I had a margarita and a number #16 combination meal and both was great. Great parking and location. The waitress was nice. I will return.

Quick lunch. The food was hot. Chips and salsa were delish. Portions were hearty. The restrooms were just cleaned so they looked immaculate. Overall a great experience.

My sister lives in the area and she really likes this restaurant so I wanted to treat her for dinner, I'm coming from California so enjoy our Mexican restaurants. We went in and she had already decided on a certain plate. Once she seen the prices she had changed her mind, she stated they went up but I insisted she get what she was craving. She ordered Camarones a la diabla and I ordered the Border fajitas. I drank a Dos Xx and she ordered a Pepsi and a side of cheese dip along with a spicy salsa. Food did not take long and our waitress was really nice. My plate was enough for 2 people. I will say it lacked flavor , I added some salt and spicy sauce to try and make up for it but did not do. My sister was happy with her plate but I had a bite and it also lacked flavor. Our bill came out to $68 . I'm glad my sister enjoyed it but for me I will not be returning.

I was in the area for work so I decided to check this place out. I was surprised by how nice it is inside! They have an awesome bar. Over on the wall is a faded, painted angel and Don Julio logo. It was really cool.
I was seated right away. It didn't take long for a waiter to ask what I wanted to drink. The lunch menu selection is great. A little bit of everything that I like for a decent price $7.95+/-
The food didn't take long to come out. There was a couple of waiters that checked to see if everything was good. That was very nice of them!
This looks like a great place for drinks and for large groups.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Robby M.Moline, IL76181Jul 24, 2021
After being away from the quad cities and finally making our way back, we figured we would go to our favorite place. Well for starters the service was a joke 10-15 minutes before someone came to the table. Only saw the waitress 3 times and that was drinks food order and dropping food. The place itself was dirty. Guest that was with me used the restroom and was created with a mouse and at that point we paid and left.
Get it together or continue the business like this and you'll find the doors closing. Place used to be amazing....Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Hemant T.Bettendorf, IA140350441May 1, 2017
I liked the food I ordered today at Los Agaves Mexican Grill, for the most part.
I got the rice and chicken soup and Huevos con Chorizo. The soup had shredded chicken, rice, pico de gallo and served with 2 tortillas of your choice. The soup had a layer of oil on the top, but it was tasty. Huevos con Chorizo had eggs and chorizo scrambled, and served with rice, tossed salad (lettuce, cheese, green pepper). This was more miss than a hit.
The server helping me was active, courteous and engaged. Other staff seemed uninterested in whatever they were doing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cire N.Maquoketa, IA161142Jan 17, 2019Updated review
Fajita enchiladas.
That's it. Got it once and have craved it ever since. Their salsa is on point, their service is always on point, and no matter how busy they are, you'll eat in 15 minutes.
Boom. Five stars.
Are margaritas on special, still???Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 22, 2015Previous reviewFirst two times visiting were in the past few weeks.
I think the service is better than their food...and their food is pretty good. The restaurant is huge so of you need to get in and out, try it out.
They have outdoor seating which is good on a nice weather day. - Haley B.Iowa City, IA384658155Aug 23, 2018
The highlight of my visit to Los Agaves, outside of the company, was my frozen raspberry margarita. It was enormous and delicious. The service was so-so which is understandable, given that it was the end of the night, and the food was good, but entirely forgettable.
I ordered the Texas fajitas, which was delivered in an enormous sizzling mountain; Portions were seriously generous. My fajitas came with steak, chicken, and shrimp, and were seasoned well. Three tortillas was not sufficient for the amount of of meat which was fine, because I took lots of it home for leftovers, anyway. The staff kindly accommodated my request for double beans and no rice, and they were cooked with chorizo and really very tasty.
The patio was nice and the revolving door of waitstaff was all friendly, but given the enormous variety of quality Mexican food available in the QC, Los Agaves isn't a standout.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Laurie L.Moline, IL01Jan 12, 2022
We were seated promptly because the place was not busy. Sat at the table for about 10 minutes before a waitress finally came over. Put in our drink and dinner order. 20 minutes later our food and one drink finally came. Waitress went to find my husbands drink. Our food was cold - not just barely warm, but cold. Waitress did not come back to check on us until she brought the bill. We told her about our food being cold and she did offer to replace it however we were done eating what was edible and declined. The waitress then told us that she could take our card any time because she wasn't busy.

I should probably try more Mexican restaurants. For some reason, I'm never craving it. If I had a Los Agaves near me, I'd crave it daily.
My roommates rave about this place all the time and now I know why!
The waiters are dressed really nicely and the decor is so lovely. You receive free chips and salsa. The salsa is SO GOOD. Who knew free salsa would be so delicious?!?! Our table of three inhaled it within minutes.
We ordered a large queso to share and I had the Santa Fe Quesadilla with chicken. I seriously didn't expect it to get better...but the queso was so heavenly. I'm drooling right now.
The Santa Fe came. My jaw dropped. So heavenly. Super large quesadilla that comes with rice and beans and a cute fried tortilla filled with guacamole, pico, and sour cream. I took a bite. Bliss in my mouth. SO DELICIOUS.
I wish it was closer to me. I'd go so often. So pleased with the service and the food here. The restaurant was a little busy and somehow they managed to get the food to us within 5-10 minutes. Now that's service!
My only complaint is that they don't have horchatas. I reaaaally wanted one.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
