This was our first experience here. The receptionist was very pleasant. He provided excellent customer service.
We were seated in a booth in the bar area. Lucky for us we arrived during happy hour. Happy hour allows us to try lots of different items, which is the way I like to experience a new place. It shows me how they prepare different foods.
Unfortunately, our waitress seemed like we were bothering her with our many questions, but being new to the place I'm not certain how everything works.
We ordered the rockin' onion petals with horseradish chipotle sauce, hand breaded mushrooms with horseradish sauce, and fried pickles with chipotle ranch; to start things off.
The horseradish chipotle was a little loud. The onion petals were much better with the chipotle ranch.
Maybe we'll try it again another day. Maybe!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kim C.Murrieta, CA1099147Jul 4, 2016
Hands down worst service and food I have ever had. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived on a Saturday night around 7:30. I guess that should have been my first clue.
Upon arrival, the host said he needed to clean a table and then he would take us back. When he came back to the front he grabbed menus and began heading back. I asked if we were supposed to grab peanuts and he said " yeah I guess go ahead"
We were seated and greeted almost immediately and a waitress asked what we wanted to drink. We hadn't had a chance to look over the menus so we just ordered waters. we didn't see our waitress again for 10 minutes. When she returned we ordered a drink, our meals and my sons food. We also asked for bread.
Waited and waited while we saw our drinks sitting on the bar ready to be brought to our table. The waitress finally brought our drinks over and we asked for bread again. We waited a good 15 minutes before bread came out. At this time we asked that my sons food (Mac and cheese) be brought out asap.
Our food, and my sons food finally came out. He had the smallest portion of Mac and cheese I had ever seen and a small handful of French fries. My husband and I ordered the 1/2 lb barbecue chicken that came with two sides. We were a bit surprised to see a small chicken breast on he plate. I mean SMALL. Picture a chicken breast cut in half to make it thinner. It had a small smear of bbq sauce across the top. It was super dry and really had zero flavor. I asked for a side of barbecue sauce when our food was brought to the table. Ate my side, my husband finished his meal still
No barbecue sauce or even a check in from the waitress. My husband got up and asked the person who seated us for barbecue sauce. He retuned with lumpy sauce.
We were on vacation hoping to enjoy a nice dinner and we received the complete opposite. We left hungry and frustrated.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 26, 2013
I guess Logan's has pissed off a number of diners before! I'm guessing they are aware of their ratings and are trying really hard to improve.
We came here because, my mom, who claims she has the best memory, wants to go out to TGI's. My dad and I tell her that TGI's on Sunrise has been closed for ages. She swears it's open, so we drive up, " No, Friday's?!" Oh well, sign of the times.
So after much debate, we agreed on coming here. I wasn't really enthused at the idea, but parents' were paying and I had a late lunch and figured I'll just join them for their company and have a drink. My lack of enthusiasm is due to the last time we were here, which was about two years ago. I wasn't really impressed with the food and I thought that the food was mediocre.
We arrived here around 8pm and we were seated immediately. My mom orders the jumbo shrimp entree, dad orders porter house, daughter gets the sirloin, and I settle on a side salad. we all agreed that we love the variety of choices on the sides. When our food came, everything was superb! The porterhouse was much larger in size than some of the other steakhouses we frequent. Mom and my daughter's entrees were fantastic too. My daughter shared her steak with me and there was still enough steak left. Oh, and those fresh baked rolls are so yummy!
I have to give props to our server, Ashley, she was on top of her game! I'm assuming that they had a lot of servers not show up or maybe they didn't schedule enough?! Ashley waited on every occupied table in here, which was give or take 15 tables?
She brought us out waters even though we ordered alcoholic beverages, with the exception of my daughter. We never had to ask her for a refill and she was so darn efficient!
My family members are a bunch of carnivores. I'm guessing we'll be coming back here to bring the rest of the clan for a great steak dinner!Helpful 15Thanks 0Love this 11Oh no 0 - Lynnette B.Sacramento, CA1284616Dec 26, 2016
We came in tonight because the other restaurant we wanted to go to was too crowded. We sat at 5:40 pm. It is currently 7:03 pm and our food isn't at the table yet. The little kids food was brought out 5 minutes ago since they were understandably fussy since it has been so long!
The servers are stressed. I know it's not their fault that things are so backed up. There are several empty tables so there isn't a good reason for such slow service.
I know we are not the only people who are frustrated by the length of time for food.
Update. It's 7:08. We have food. 1 hour 28 minute wait. Boo Logan's Roadhouse
Update #2. Cold steak.
Salad ordered with no tomatoes had over 1/2 cup of tomatoes.
We made the wrong choice.
Redeeming food - rolls and fries.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

You know those places you "used to" go to? Ones you went to like ten years ago, and haven't been back to since? And in your memory there's some perfectly valid reason, like the food went downhill or the prices went up? Well that's Logan's Roadhouse for me. I used to go there, over ten years ago, back when I had no kids and lots of disposable income, and could enjoy their steaks and yeast rolls and Texas Teas with carefree abandon. Then I got pregnant, and therefore, poor and sober. And that was the end of my Logan's Run.
Flash forward ten years to a time when I am in Citrus Heights on a Tuesday and see a banner on Logan's that says that kids eat free on Sunday and Tuesday. This catches my attention, and we decide to try it out. I remember the place being expensive, but if I'm only paying for my one meal and the kids are free, $20 for an entrée is acceptable.
Then I find out- I was so wrong! For all these years I haven't gone to Logan's because I remember it being expensive- it's not! Yes, steaks and ribs can run you $20, but they have a huge menu with tons of options around $12-$15, and you get SO MUCH food. On the nights when kids eat free, it's tough to beat the deal that Logan's offers. The food is great, the prices are reasonable (when kids are free), and the service is friendly. There is never a wait for a table, and the kids love eating peanuts and throwing shells onto the floor.
Some of the deliciousness which I recommend: pork chops, veggie skewer, baked sweet potato, steak tips, the Logan steak, and of course, the delicious yeast rolls. I really love their wide selection, generous portions, and so far I haven't had anything I disliked. Even the kids' meals are large and tasty!
The reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is mainly that there is sometimes confusion over the 'Kids Eat Free' special. At times I've gone alone with two kids and had both of their meals comp'ed with my paid meal. Other times, I've gone with two adults and three kids and received one free kids' meal per adult. When I asked about the discrepancy, I was told by my waitress that whoever gave two free kids per adult was doing it wrong- but I've received that deal three times and one-for-one only once. Additionally, sometimes items don't ring up the proper price and you have to bring it to the waitress's attention and have her fix it (which no one likes to do). All in all, however, I am a big fan and will keep coming back. Dinner for my family of three under $20, for real food, is always a winner in my book!
So if you are like me, and you haven't been to Logan's in a few years, I say give it another try. You may find yourself both pleasantly surprised with the restaurant and annoyed with yourself for ignoring it for so long.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Aug 4, 2015
Summary: lackluster food and service. Peanuts were stale, rolls were not fresh, mozzarella sticks were frozen and undercooked, and steaks lacked flavor.
Waitress had very little traffic to service but could not find time to keep our drinks filled.
The food was mediocre and tasted reheated with little flavor. You go into a roadhouse expecting great flavors and a fun environment. We encountered neither.
I can't recommend this location at all based on our dining experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Liz T.Woburn, MA74312451Nov 8, 2016
Just ok. I was disappointed with the mac n cheese. The waitress brought the wrong salad dressing and the tri tip was over cooked. I tried a couple peanuts but each one was stale.

I know a lot of people hate giving the lowest possible star rating on here and so do I. I can't help but be honest and give genuine reviews.
Our waitress was kind and had good intentions, but as far as her service, it was very inattentive. Our food took 40 minutes which is very long for a slow lunch. There were three other tables in there and two were being taken care of by the bartender. Our drinks were empty for a while until she finally noticed we needed refills.
The food was okay. My steak was borderline cold. It had definitely been sitting for a while. I ordered it medium rare and it came well done. My broccoli was good. I loaded it like a baked potato.
My husband ordered a burger with an egg and asked for the egg over medium. The egg was over cooked and he said the burger was "ehhh".
She did one check back when we were just about done with our food so I didn't have a chance to tell her my steak order was not right.
Anyway, we came because of a groupon and will not be returning. Sorry. :/Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

The meal was good. Steak was a bit salty but good, tender. The sweet potato was warm, not hot but I was OK with that because it did not burn my mouth.
The server was nice if not a little salesy. Had to say no to up sales twice. BUT she was very attentive and nice.
Lastly, she asked us to leave a post here as they have been getting bad reviews. We got a 5 dollar gift card for doing so.... Little tacky if u ask me....
Won't go out of my way to come back but would if a friend asked me to lunch or meet here.
Update: I left my credit card there and I had to go back. They did have the card. The manager gave me the card and apologized for the server up selling. She said she did not want to come off as it is what they were trained to up sell hard.
I understand that as every restaurant has a little up selling that's just part what they do . The server was probably a little over enthusiastic.
I do appreciate the apology and I think it was sincere. They are obviously trying to give their all for their customers and they are very serious about wanting to be the best restaurant they can be.
After having spoke to the manager I would come back again and I did appreciate them taking the time to talk to me.
I guess it did not work out for them, they are now closed. I don't like to hear that a store has closed. Better luck in the future ...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Logan's Roadhouse made me realize something about myself: I'm not, as much as I pretend to be, a slob.
Let me back up a moment:
Logan's Roadhouse is one of those places that gives you peanuts and lets you drop the shells on the floor. But there's one problem: they clean them up so frequently that you're dropping shells on a CLEAN floor. There's just something in my brain that will not allow me to do such a thing. I have friends who find it fun- liberating, even- but I just CAN'T do it. But I digress....
Logan's has a down-home, country bar feel to it, while still being clean and open. You are given peanuts during your wait (if there is one) and at your table. But I usually go light on the peanuts, because the real treasure here are the bread rolls. I use the term "bread" lightly...they are so soft they are practically dough. Warm, delicious, airy, buttery dough. I love them. Whenever people suggest Logan's, I always say "YES!" far too quickly, thinking ONLY of their doughy rolls. In fact, I never even think of their actual entrees. But those are good too.
I usually go for the pulled pork sandwich, a very slightly spicy helping of moist pork on a baguette style roll. My husband always gets the bacon and egg burger. There are lighter options, too: chicken, tilapia, salads....maybe I should go that route from now on, since I wolf down those doughy rolls like there's no tomorrow.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
