Simply a disappointment.  I went there as part of a private party so we had the room upstairs.  When we arrived, the host had know idea what he was doing and set us up in the dining room even though they had our reservations and entree orders.

Once in the private room, our waitress kept disappearing.  She would leave and then come back 15 minutes later and just stand around.  We had to ask numerous times for our water glasses to be refilled, plates to be taken away, and so forth.

For the amount of money that you pay for an entree, it simply wasn't good.  I've had better at On the Border.  I had high hopes for Loco Hombre, but they fell short.

I think Loco Hombre is ok. Some of the stuff is really really good, some of its ok at best.  For dinner I've had the beef tenderloin and the ribs, which were ok (but I think they were a special?).  For brunch, the egg and bacon souffle was pretty good, but really rich not in a good way.  The breakfast cubano sandwich was ok, but I'd rather go elsewhere. I also think the dinner is pretty expensive for what it is, brunch is definitely more reasonable.  i think if Loco Hombre has any brunch popularity its because there is a lack of nicer brunch places here, so you end up going by default when parents or whomever come into town and you want to take them to someplace with a tablecloth.

I went for brunch with a couple and their 2-year-old son. (Our first choice was Miss Shirley's, where the line was insane. We were given a $5 discount voucher for LH. What the heck, we figured.)

We were the first customers of the day, and our food took almost 45 minutes to arrive. The waitress eventually told us that there was only one chef on duty and that three of the four plates were ready.

We asked her to bring the food that was plated. Mine -- a crab Benedict -- was room temp, but I didn't want to find out what would happen if I sent it back.

Potential for a good meal if the service were more in keeping with usual restaurant timing. The menu has interesting options -- including a Roquefort omelet made with shredded chicken. Not sure Sunday brunch is when the place is at its best.

I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could, but it's just inconsistent. I've been here for several great experiences, and several not-so-great experiences. Best advice, if you want to get the most out of it, go for dinner on a week night. The food is good - I know they also serve brunch on weekends which I've yet to try, but overall, for the same money, you can do better.
