Liberty Travel

Wow. This place was so amazingly rude. I was trying to walk in for an appointment to discuss travel and they refused to discuss it with me. There are kind travel agents out there - go to one of them and not this one.

This business tried to keep my deposit. We booked a trip pre-Covid and now that the world is opening back up. We decided to book our own plans and not was the agent pissed!!!! I was like please don't manage my money for me

My husband and I used Liberty Travel to help plan our honeymoon in Bali...and the planning was a bit of a mess. First of all, our travel agent didn't know much about that general area of the world. I understand that it's probably not as common of a destination as some places in the Caribbean or Central America, but a little knowledge of that general area of the world would have helped. Regardless, they have third party contacts who specialize in certain parts of the world that they can reach out to so it wasn't a big deal.

Moving on to the trip itself - My husband had done quite a bit of research on things we wanted to do & places we wanted to go, which helped tremendously because she couldn't really answer any of our questions. Whenever we did have requests, she tended to ignore most of our them until we repeated ourselves multiple times... kind of annoying. Also, she had a tendency to respond to our emails without actually looking into our question. (for example, she made some of our changes and the price went up by over $2K. When I asked her why, she said it was because of the hotels we requested. In an email a few hours later, she said it was because of the activities. When I questioned her on it, she admitted she never actually looked into my question. ......umm?) Eventually we straightened things out and planned a few things on our own, but it took a while.

Now to the logistics - THANK GOD we checked every timing / logistical item thoroughly. First of all, the original flights she had us on included a very short layover. It was barely enough time for a domestic layover let alone a super international layover (chicago to tokyo,~1 hr layover in Tokyo, Tokyo to Indonesia. not gonna work). When we questioned her on it, she responded with "oh, yeah that's a good point. Let me look into it". Then, she had us scheduled on a return flight that departed Bali at 6:30PM... and also had us booked for a 4 hour sundown dinner the same evening that started at 4:30PM. When I caught it and brought it up to her, her response was "I'll check with my Bali expert" ...don't think you need to check with the expert to see that timing doesn't work.


I've worked with other agencies before, and I have never had an experience like this. Needless to say, we will not be using them again.

I wasted an hour speaking with an overzealous agent in-person, and she never followed up with me via phone, or via email with travel options. She wasted about 40 minutes of my time getting excited about past trips that she had been on, and kept interrupting me when I was trying to explain what I wanted my future trip to include. I signed up on their website as well to request more information about a potential trip in February, and no one has followed up with me. It's been a month...

This review is long overdue. I worked with Liberty Travel back in 2014 to plan for a trip to Mexico for 8 girlfriends. I NEVER use a travel agency. I'm a fairly self-sufficient traveler. Book everything myself....but this trip was different. 8 girls coming from 3 different locations. And I wanted the best possible price on certain days at a specific resort so I was exploring all options including a travel agent. And Liberty came through.

We primarily worked with Kate Goll who I believe in gone but Robyn jumped in and tag teamed at the end. Regardless, the team is efficient and hard working and goes the extra mile on all details. They found a great package. Cheaper than everywhere else online and through the resort with some nice bonus add-ons. It opened my eyes to the savings and assistance that an agency can bring to a working professional looking for a fabulous vacation but doesn't have the time to do all the leg work to find the best option.

I was reminded to write this review because I'm about to reach out again to book my next vaca through them.

I am updating my review because Robyn Gevas went above and beyond AGAIN for my boyfriend and I in planning our latest vacation. We previously booked a Jamaican vacation, but because of the incident where a man lit the signal tower on fire in Aurora, we were unable to go on our trip! :-( Not only was Robyn there every step of the way during the crisis, but she also made sure we got refunded.

Now fast forward a few months and we are planning to try Punta Cana. Robyn found us a GREAT deal for a 5 night stay at a top ten resort in the area we are traveling to. And to top it off, she helped us confirm and pay for our vacation on a Saturday. A SATURDAY!! Come on people, weekends are sacred and this woman took her time to help us! Her level of service deserves 5 stars in my book!

I am currently planning a two month + in Asia trip and Liberty was a pleasure to work with. I am an independent traveler and I had a certain distain for package deals and the ilk. So when I approached Liberty Travel, I was expecting the worst : never-ending pitches and sales person runaround. However when I talked to Robyn, I found it to be a pleasant experience. No pitches, no BS. In fact, Robyn saved me some money by recommending a cheaper travelers insurance (a must for a month + trip). Robyn, who took a similar trip, seemed generally exited for my trip and recommended a few dishes to try in Cambodia. Highly recommended !

The only problem is parking. It's very hard to find a parking space, but it isn't their fault for that.

I haven't taken a trip since I was 20 so it's been 5 years and i've never taken a trip without my family/mom (haha..sad, I know). I was really nervous about attempting to plan a vacation for the first time and it's the first trip my boyfriend and I are taking together! Of course we want it to be perfect. (We've tried planning vacations before but it always fell through since we are indecisive and don't know the first thing about planning trips). The main problem was, we didn't know where we wanted to go, what we wanted to do when we got there, and how to plan transportation. Also, we had just 4 weeks left to plan something since we already turned in our vacation times at work!

Alison lead me every step of the way and I didn't have to lift a finger! She's very professional and friendly. She gave us guidance as to which vacation spots we would like since we're looking to just lay out by the beach, drink, and relax. After getting a feel for what my boyfriend and I were looking for, Alison recommended an all-inclusive trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico. After my boyfriend agreed that Riviera Maya would be the perfect place to go, Alison booked it right then and there! Within 5 minutes, our trip was planned. She planned the flight time for us, booked the transportation, our hotel stay, and planned our excursions (we'll be swimming with dolphins)! Whenever we had questions, she was just a phone call away. She even gave us a list of what to pack! I don't know how she did it, but the trip was within our budget.

In the beginning I was a nervous-wrack about planning this trip and now that Alison basically did everything for me, I just have to sit back and relax. I cannot believe how easy the whole process was! Thank you Thank you THANK YOU, Alison!

My fiance and I walked into Liberty travel with nothing but our preferred travel dates. We worked with Alex, who was absolutely amazing! We went through options that would have taken us anywhere in the world, and we eventually settled on Peru. She created a custom trip for us that let us explore the whole country--partly alone, partly hiking with an adventure touring company--and it was truly one of the best trips of our lives! It was also wonderful because even after Liberty booked the travel for us, they were available before and during the trip to help us. This was the case for big and small things (e.g., questions about our travel arrangements to booking additional parts of the trip). It was such a pleasure to work with Alex and the rest of Liberty travel--I highly recommend it to anyone. Oh, and best of all, the entire trip was extremely affordable!

Alison was a great help and assisted me through every step of the booking process and made sure I understood all the details. Nothing was to much trouble, she took the time to answer all my questions with patience and knowledge.
