Rude people.
Went in after work because I needed a cut. At first I'm ignored, even though they saw me walk in. When the unoccupied barber finally acknowledges me, I barely get to say hello before he turns his back on me and walks away.
Starting to feel not so great about this place.
He turns around since I haven't walked away yet. I ask him how much for a skin fade. He thinks, then says $18. The occupied barber then also replies, yea $18. I know I only have $15 on me. I say thank you and start to walk out.
It's all good, I'll get a cut tomorrow.
The occupied barber stops me to let me know that if I want it cheaper I can have it for $6 across the street, at the barber school.
I can't tell you if they give the world's best cut or the world's worst cut. I can tell you that to call them rude is just about the nicest thing I can say about them.
Go anywhere else.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 10, 2015
I rarely "poo poo" a business, for the very idea that someone or some place doesn't have a redeeming quality is foreign to me. That being said, I have gotten better haircuts at super cuts and other mall-chain locations than what I received here. Again, this might be specific to the barber that cut my hair (older Russian woman). I told her what I wanted then she proceeded to do whatever the hell she wanted. Crap. Worst haircut ever. Thinking of wearing a turban or not going out for a few weeks.
Very disappointed and would not recommend this woman unless you want to play a practical joke on someone or can exert Putin-like fear into her, so that she doesn't screw up your head.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - J D.New York, NY6598Nov 14, 2019
Great haircut. Great shave. Great setup. Comfortable chair. Good location. One problem which compelled me to write this. They didn't listen to me about how I wanted my beard, and then on top of that they cut my lips while trimming my beard resulting in a very painful 3 to 4 days plus possible scarring. Stick to them for basic haircuts and basic shaves. Nothing more.

This really is a great place to get a "Guy" haircut. Sports on multiple TVs and in the far corner is a nail technician available for a manicure.
After you get a haircut, the barber takes a warm towel and puts it over your head. Next, the barber takes the vibrating hand massager and gives you a back massage. Nice..
PS - They have a punch card for a free haircut!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Mar 17, 2010Previous reviewOh for shame Liberty Barber for shame!
When you have times posted for your store to close Saturday at 4:00, you close at 4:00 and not 3:45 when I show up.

$39 dollars to clean the back of my neck and shape up my beard! 15 mins in chair. Never again. Half a dozen shops within a few blocks away.

If you want a regular cut with no style. This is the place for you. Non of the barbers know how to do. Proper fade. I don't know how this place has 4 stars, when the barber can't do a simple fade. Went back today to give hem a second chance and try another barber. Then I saw the work they were doing and it was terrible. How are you a barber and you don't know how to blend properly.

Overpriced, unprofessional service. Twice I told the barber not to use clipper on my beard, which is a no brainer, yet he ignored me. They barely say Good day when you enter or acknowledge customers.

I tried this place out a few months ago, and typically get a shaved head with a manual razor blade. The normal, older barber I see is really good. We're talking about 4 star territory here. His razor skills are amazing. But I only knew that his skills were amazing until today, when I decided to use another barber (since my regular barber was on vacation).
Imagine someone has a razor blade shaving your scalp, and is pressing the blade so fiercely and at such a bad angle that the blade cuts through your skin. It hurts. Now imagine this happens several times while you are trying to remain calm and composed in your seat. After reacting each time he cut me, the guy didn't even change his approach. He was also clumsy, and came close to shaving off my eyebrows.
I must admit, I made a mistake by staying in the seat after the first laceration to my scalp. That said, I have been to other barbers where it's just one nick, and they adjust their approach. In any event, I am paying for my reluctance to simply walk out of the place or to switch to another barber in the same establishment.
At the end of this ordeal, I ended up paying my fare, having the cashier say "sorry about that," and telling my barber "you get no tip." The barber just stood there, listless, as if nothing had happened. You know it's a bad shave when you have onlookers (the cashier) apologizing and the barber saying nada.
That said, I am totally fine not to have engaged in any argument about how bad of a job this barber did, how the place shouldn't hire barbers like this, or how I shouldn't pay for my shave. Instead, I will vote with my wallet. Never going back here ever, even though I like my regular barber. I average a $5 tip and $20 haircut twice a week, so that's only about $2,600 / year this establishment will lose by allowing such an incompetent, untrained barber to be working there.
Overall, I give a rating of (a) 4 for the good barber, (b) 0 for the crappy barber, and (c) 2 for the establishment for hiring crappy barbers. A total of 6 points, averaged over three criteria equals an overall score of 2.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Benjamin H.Murrieta, CA961412Oct 10, 2017
Awesome barber shop! Got a trim by Isaac after not having a cut for 3 months. He nailed it first time. Great straight razor with hot shaving cream to clean up the neck accompanied by a hot towel. All for a whopping $14??!!! Found my new Barber.
