Wow! We love this place. Saw it when we wanted to get piercings at a neighboring place (which we love too), and they advertised vegan. We also really like Mexican food.
I typically get the vegan burrito here, and it's just so saucy and loaded with a lot of things like broccoli, carrots, and zucchini/courgettes, which is a pleasant surprise compared to places that just do something simple like rice and beans only. It's kind of saucy but not overwhelmingly drenched, and the distribution of the ingredients is very good too. You get a little everything in every bite. I like the guac salsa and pour it on there. Needed to cut a little bit of the carbs for medical reasons, and they were able to put the wrap on the side; the inside content is still very good (still has rice though I was just making small cuts lol). It's definitely my most favourite burrito. Something else I really like on the vegan menu is the spinach enchilada, which has a lot of spinach in it. It's got this zesty taste to it and I really like it.
My wife is not vegan, but she tries different things during each visit. She finally got the vegan part of the menu and was curious about the chimichanga. That's all she orders now. I haven't tried it, but it does look good. Very good portion sizes too... that burrito alone... it takes her a few days to finish it, and it looks like it could feed a family of 4 if you really wanted to stretch your dollar lol.
Older daughter likes the cheese enchilada sometimes we can get her to eat it with chicken in it. She loves the rice and probably can't get enough it. Both of the kids like cheese quesadilla, and sometimes they steal my wrap; they also love the chips. Chips are not automatically free so sorry if that's important (usually that's important to me too, but the vegan options are too good here for me to overlook). All of us like to snack on the fries too, and easy for the ~1 year old to hold.
I wont ding them for a service they don't offer: Dine in; however: They do have a few tables outside, and you can eat outside if you'd like. I really like to eat the food at restaurants when we visit, and quite honestly I think sitting outside is pretty nice. Area seems pretty safe and there's a little foliage blocking the street way so we don't have to worry about the kids bolting off onto the street. It is a little more difficult to eat there when it's cold or if there's any weather, which of course is expected if you're sitting outside. Doesn't look covered or I haven't seen it yet so I wouldn't eat here on a rainy day, but again, it's good and I'd probably just make an exception and pick it up. They have a key to the restroom so if you do choose to eat there, then you'll be good.
People are super super super friendly. They have taken our orders pretty accurately and even though there's no dine-in if they see us sitting outside they'll actually bring us our food, which we think is extremely nice. From time to time they've offered a few things like flan, which we thought was fun.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 50017371350Jan 1, 2024
While passing through Santa Cruz on our way down the coast for the holidays, my husband and I were staying in an Airbnb nearby and decided to give this spot a try for dinner. I ordered a bean, rice, and cheese burrito while my husband ordered a Carne Asada burrito. Both burritos were absolutely massive!
I loved that they had a variety of salsas that we could choose from, and each had its own unique flavor profile. The service was fast and friendly. If you are looking for some good, fast Mexican food, definitely check out Salsa's.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 621706341Feb 20, 20241 check-in
I've visited Santa Cruz numerous times, and I was so excited to finally discover this spot! We were driving through on the way to Monterey and decided to stop over for lunch. I had the "mini" chicken California burrito, which was huge and definitely fills you up as a meal. Their "large" burrito was listed as 5 lbs! My friends tried their tacos which looked amazing - besides mixing up one taco (carne asada instead of salmon), service was great and friendly! Seating is outside, the weather was perfect to enjoy lunch at one of the tables around the corner.

Portion sizes are perfect. I got the regular burrito and it was good, although my carnitas was really dry. Salsa bar is in the fridge by the way.

Holy Moly!! This place is SOOO GOOD!!!
We stopped by here post surf/post run and put down a good amount of (vegan) food!
My plant-preferring friend ordered the spinach enchiladas and I had the vegan baja tacos. Salsa's Taco Bar was not short on vegan options whatsoever, and offered even more "regular" options for the carne-appreciating crowd.
The enchiladas were jam-packed with veggies, unlike most places who make make their enchiladas sort of sparse on filling (veggie or not). My friend was super pleased with her plate and devoured the entire thing.
My vegan baja tacos were basically tacos where the battered fried "fish" were onion rings. Okay, so maybe not the healthiest of vegan options but you gotta hand it to them for their creativity. All I have to say is, this is sure to please, vegan or not. Because.... fried stuff!
The salsas were very tasty and they offered ultra mild for my friend who can't tolerate heat, but also had other sauce options or those needing a bit more spice in their life.
There isn't really much seating there, so this is more of a grab and go type of spot. Take your food to the beach and enjoy the day!
We'll be back for sure!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Logan M.Monterey, CA681Jan 23, 2024
