How dare they. I got quotes for new polarized lenses (for my existing frames) from five different upscale optometrists on the west side. The average quote was $170, and maximum quote from any other place was $200.
LensCrafters quoted $360.
How dare they.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Eunji K.Amherst, MA66204Jun 21, 2020
I went in for glasses + contact lens. My glasses were broken and my contact lens were running low, so it was pretty urgent!
I went in and did the whole process of exam, pick out the glasses, and check out..etc. Then, I go home, and I took the time to look at my receipt and saw an error for my 6-month bulk contact lens order. Wrong prescription, and 3 boxes for one eye and 2 boxes for the other eye... meaning they charged me for an extra box.... I was so happy that I caught that myself but, seriously? For a first time LensCrafter customer, I was getting really nervous and worried.
I called first thing the next day to get this sorted out, but thank the Heavens a lovely lady named Samantha answered, and fixed the quantity and Dosage. She also processed a refund right away for the extra box and she sent me an email confirmation of the updated receipt. I understand mistakes do happen, but what really made me really happy was Samantha's customer service. She is a hidden gem in there! Please go when Samantha is in and ask for Samantha!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Therese T.New York, NY08825Dec 22, 2023
They will get the job done but you have to pay attention to how they price everything because the often make "mistakes."
They're very rude when you ask to make an appointment. I've never met so many people who are so completely incompetent.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Andy L.New York, NY32257Jul 9, 2023
Asked two simple questions. Do you make lens here same day? Do you take my insurance? Didn't get an answer.
Sales person literally couldn't answer how long it takes to make glasses.
The prices are absurd compared to online or even Warby Parker up the street a few blocks. Just bonkers prices and lack of transparency.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Grace N.New York, NY301135May 8, 2023
I don't know what's with all the bad reviews because I've been coming here for over two years now and I've only ever had very helpful and accommodating people help me. The last time I went, I had an issue with my insurance and the manager sat with me and tried 4 different things to make it work. Very friendly and helpful. Not to mention the automatic yearly reminders for an appointment and how easy it is to reschedule if you need to.
Obviously the glasses aren't the cheapest, but I don't know anywhere that sells good quality glasses for a low price. Mine have stood the test and I've never had any problems. Will contonue to come here as long as I live in NYC!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maria H.New York, NY01Oct 6, 2023
The people are pleasant and friendly, but the service and the system are nothing short of terrible. I had to come back several times. 1. For ordering incorrect contact lenses 2. People not showing by up for the designated time 3. Staff are not knowledgeable about how the system works 4. Long wait even just to get an appointment
I don't leave bad reviews, but if I've had it, I don't want others to experience the same.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Olivia L.San Francisco, CA03Jul 28, 2023
Went for an eye exam. They did not explain anything and that seemed sort of judgemental if I asked question. Was given different information about what the exam would involve from each of 3 different people, the third being the doctor. It all seemed a little sketchy (i.e., asked me to sign a form saying I declined a certain exam without actually offering it).
I called back to ask about the script for contacts and the woman explained it to me, which was nice, but I feel like the doctor (or someone?) should have explained it before I left.
Glasses are nice but similar quality for cheaper elsewhere!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aarian P.New York, NY375Sep 10, 2023
I have been a patient at this location for most of my adult life. Now my family uses them. I have read several reviews over the years and have found them to be insightful. I can say that each experience typically has a lot to do with the salesperson on the floor. I have had a few bad experiences but that was based upon the one personality that day who just seemed to be aloof and impatient with my questions. Instead of confronting that individual, I just won't come back for a while (several months) Whenever I do return, that rude person is usually not their that day. In the last few times visiting the store, I have been pleasantly greeted and professionally handled with kindness and the care I deserve. We laughed, I was able to take my time and ask questions. As a result, I choose lenses that I was happy with. I felt at home. The representative that worked with me was an excellent representative of Lens Crafters. I'm look forward to always going back in hoping I never have to experience another grumpy salesperson. I like LensCrafters.

Everyone works there is fantastic; but I'm especially thinking about Dr. Lawrence and the manager Lisbeth. Both are knowledgeable, patient and thorough.
I'd never bought glasses before and they made the process smooth and painless.
Glasses are expensive, but they are medical devices.
Highly recommended.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John T.Wappingers Falls, NY03Dec 30, 2023
horrible service. placed an order online for Oakley frames. checked out as a guest, no account created. never received any confirmation emails, or order number. My credit card shows a charge. 3 days later, contacted Lenscrafters online, trying to figure out what's going on. Their response is: "no account found, dispute the charges with your bank. We're sorry for your trouble". So their horrible website created this headache for me, i wasted time waiting for the glasses, the customer service don't seem to care at all. First and last time i bought anything from them.

I bought an expensive pair of glasses at LensCrafters, and the young man who was helping me was completely uninterested in fitting my lenses properly. I went back to the store to try to get them fitted, and they told me I needed to see the optometrist. it turns out that in order to get my glasses fitted to my face properly so that the frames actually work, they make you see an optometrist. I can't see out of my glasses. Today is Wednesday and they told me "it will have to be next week." They are rude, they are completely uninterested in customer service, and I will go anywhere about Lenscrafters from now on. And I have used them for 25 years. --Disgusted
