I went to Leif Rogers for a consult about five years ago and he seemed great but ultimately decided not to go forward with him... the timing was off for me. Recently thought about returning so I went on Real Self and saw that his license is suspended! Here is the case against him if you want to read about it. Basically malpractice.

I am not doing this to trash him and, as I said, he seemed great in person. But I think this kind of information is absolutely vital for anyone thinking about surgery with a doctor. I don't have any inside info on this, just passing along so patients can make an informed decision.
Super confused about how many stars to leave. Wish they had an N/A choice.Helpful 2Thanks 2Love this 0Oh no 2 - Liliana N.Bell Gardens, CA1101820May 25, 2023
I just want to thank Dr. Rogers and his amazing staff for helping me with my acne. I been suffering with acne for about two years now. They recommended two lasers and one peel which were the Aviclear, Opus laser & Vi Peel. They explain how each of the lasers worked and what the benefits of each laser. When I tell you they saved my skin, I mean it! I'm so happy with my results. Big thank you to Dr. Rogers & Nurse Bea & Nurse Nour.

this is by far the best practice ever. potentially even world wide (and in the states for sure). Leif Rogers exceeds every expectation, he is normal, down to earth, and above all the most skilled sutgeon who delivers. And an amazing dude! my surgery was 7 hours and the work is exceltional. Martha is a professional nurse, the whole team with Liki went way beyond ecpectations. Danielle, ofice manager so responsive. trust them. they know what they do. Jane, the nurse, so helpful. They deserve the best recomendation and please feel free to talk to me if you need any feedback but I think this truly tells my view.
if I ccpuld give a stellar review I would!

I will try to make this as short as possible because he truly has done so much for me that I don't even know where to begin. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 49, double mastectomy along with 2 very bad reconstructions from surgeons promising to make me look normal again. I was left disfigured with hideous scars, a ton of scar tissue, chest and back pain. I stopped going out or to the gym, I hated to look at myself in the mirror and had surgeons telling me be grateful I'm alive. Then I found Dr Rogers. He is not only insanely talented, but the kindest most compassionate doctor you'll ever meet. He listens to you and for the first time I felt like I mattered. His staff are amazing! Martha, Jane, Virginie.... so supportive, always available. They don't care if you have $5 or 5 million, they are always so wonderful and kind. Dr Rogers removed those horrible implants, lifted everything, put smaller implants like I wanted, added fat to them. Now they're soft and round. I cried when I saw my body. Absolutely amazing! He didn't just make me beautiful, he gave me a new beginning. I feel comfortable in my own skin again. Now, I look for mirrors instead of avoiding them. There aren't enough words to describe how grateful I am for Dr Rogers. No other plastic surgeon will ever touch me again.

I went to this man for a lip lift. In the three preop appointments not once did he mention my nostrils would be completely cut around the entire bottom. I would have cancelled immediately. Nostrils cut and put back like an amateur or what happens when you don't wait for the plastic surgeon when you're in the ER. Even though he said in six weeks a facelift is looking good, when faced with my broken nose, yes broken, he said it takes six months to a year to see the result. Who would have their nose redone when it had been redone perfectly 4 years ago. He said my nose will magically rearrange itself; the nose fairies will replace all the cartilage which is now gone from my nostrils, the right totally collapsing in when gently pressed, so that breathing out of it is impossible. It bends left as if I never had my nose done. This is an arrogant, entitled Dr who could care less about a patient swelling " unlike any he had ever seen". Left the surgical suite without instructions in hand. I sent him the horrendous pictures for three weeks; did he call? No, never did. I had to go in to see him and he showed total disrespect by raising his voice . I have to have surgery again to have my perfect nose back on my face. Now there are jagged bones sticking out; sharp ridges to the touch. It is a travesty; my nose is broken and my sinuses constantly running; symptomatic of a broken nose. See for yourself. I am filing a malpractice suit. The first pictures are of my perfect nose - done by Dr John Layke perfectly in Beverly Hills. The rest are of my nose tonight. I am so heartsick I've had to take anti anxiety medication. The office did nothing before, threw me out as fast as could be when I woke up, and maintained the fantasy all I needed was time for my nose to reduce its swelling. I was NEVER informed a lip lift would impact my nose at all. Now I have to wait six months to have it redone. And my scars? Just like Frankenstein.

Ruined my face with microliposuction. Left holes and tunnels. I had to get surgery to fix his mess and I still have divots caused by his overzealous and unskilled microliposuction and then reckless use of steroids. He tried to sell me profound, an rf treatment that would have destroyed my face. Glad I didn't do it.

Dr Rogers himself seemed nice enough but communication was lacking. I paid $400 for a consultation and mid way through the consult Dr Rogers left the room and told me he was going to get before and after photos to show me. He never came back and I was told I would be emailed the photos. I heard nothing after several days, followed up, no response. Followed up again, and they responded with an excuse and still didn't answer any of my questions. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but it's been over a month since my consultation and after several follow up requests I still haven't gotten basic questions answered or before/after photos. I'm very disappointed that I paid so much for an incomplete consultation. All other consults I had with other Dr's were free and way more comprehensive with attentive staff.

this doctor charges a ridiculous amount of money plus the consultation fee of $500 which is non refundable and does not apply to the surgery. I went in trying to give the surgeon a benefit of the doubt. I wanted to get breast fat transfer and he would do it for a whopping price of $32,000 for the procedure.

When I first went to this office, I had trouble with the bookkeeper, but the RN, Noura, was so loving and helpful, she smoothed the situation over and I continued to come back. I have to say that of all the places I have been recently, I truly have been happy with Noura and the job she did.
The office recently had a "Bootox" event wereby you could purchase botox at a discount. I was happy to do this and did so by the deadline. there was another discounted procedure that I wanted to do but needed my husband to sign of on it, for more than one reason, the most important of which is that he is very picky about overdoing it. So when he was okay with it the following morning, I honestly did not think there would be a problem. It was a $1250 procedure, one visit and for us, that is a lot of money. But apparently, this required the approval of Danielle, whomever that is. I was told, some kind of Manager.
Danielle said "no, they had a policy and must adhere to it. They would however edxtend a 10% discount". So over 10%, off the retail price of $1,500, instead of the $1,250 price that had been good only hours ago, this policy was worth the loss altogether of my business. Well she explained, they were very strict about their policies and they had to be adhered to. So she refunded the $1,000 Botox purchase I had made from the "Bootox" event, upon request and now, in addition to all my future business and any referrals, todays total revenue loss from me was at least $2,250.
I can't afford one unhappy customer in my business, when I shared that with her, she simply reminded me about their policies.
What a shame. I will miss Noura.Helpful 11Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - Sonia H.Los Angeles, CA1420Nov 26, 2018
For some reason Leif Rogers agreed to do the surgery I requested, but then did something else. I will never know why. He said he would reduce my breast (I am a size D and needed to go down to an A or at least a B), but instead he just lifted it. When I asked why he didn't reduce it, he laughed and said "I'll just take a bit more off next time." I don't think he understands that it is painful to have surgery and forces us to take time off of work to have it.
In our initial consultations about the reduction I was very clear about why I needed my breast as small as possible; I can't get an implant on the other side where my breast was removed because of cancer so I need the healthy one smaller so they'll match. He seemed to hear this and understand, but then in our final consultation he looked me in the eye and said "Are we doing an implant next?" so I understand now that he must have forgotten what I asked for and during surgery he must have just done what he assumed would work with an implant. Unfortunately I can't get one of those so I need the healthy side a lot smaller, which I told him very clearly before the surgery.
There were a ton of other red flags which I now think should have warned me off, from his constantly combative young assistant to his insulting anesthesiologist. For some bizarre reason his anesthesiologist scared the hell out of me for no reason moments before surgery and once again, when I asked Dr Rogers why he just laughed and said "I'm sure he talks to everyone that way." I guess scaring everyone makes it okay in Dr Rogers' eyes? (I would leave this review for the anesthesiologist, but Dr Rogers says he can't remember his name.)
While he did the surgery I had asked Dr Rogers to test any breast tissue for a reoccurrence of the aggressive breast cancer I had last year. This was 6 weeks ago and I have asked him every time I went in, as well as emailing his nurse and phoning his assistant, but I never got the test results. This is an aggressive form of cancer and 6 weeks could be the difference between life and death, but still I can't seem to get this information so I have had to contact the hospital where he performed the surgery and pay them to release my records to me directly.
On a small positive note: I was grateful to Dr Rogers' nurse Arlyn, who spent time fixing the weird things that Dr Rogers and his assistant told me. She also was the only person who told me how to move post-surgery so I wouldn't damage anything and how to take care of the wounds. I wish Dr Rogers were more like Arlyn, he certainly ought to be asking her how to coordinate patient care because he is obviously more a surgeon than a doctor or a clinic/patient manager.
Also positive-ish: Dr Rogers also performed minor liposuction to harvest a small amount of fat to use as fat-grafting in my missing breast (it can sometimes heal radiation damage). My stomach looks the same as before (which is fine, I liked my stomach) and the fat-grafting makes my missing breast look like Freddy Kruger's face, but I think that's normal at this early stage (that _will_ need another surgery). He removed the tissue expander that had capsular contraction and the scar tissue around that, so I hope that eventually some of the pain from that will eventually heal.
Everyone else here leaves such positive reviews, and they certainly influenced me in my choice to go to Dr Rogers. Unfortunately I had a negative experience, I don't know why or what I could have done differently but I tried my best to communicate clearly with everyone there. Maybe he doesn't like making breasts smaller and so next time I will be going to a reduction specialist. I don't want to have multiple, unnecessary surgeries and I need to know if I have cancer again, these do not seem like unreasonable expectations of a doctor so I shall try someone else.
Edit: updated to add that it is now 2 months and Dr Rogers never did let me know that my cancer test was clear (and it was, yay!), but I payed the hospital and after a couple of weeks they sent the results with my surgical report. What a nasty wait that was, very glad to find out it is all-clear.Helpful 33Thanks 2Love this 6Oh no 0
