Some friends and I came here on a Friday night for a tribute to hip hop's 50th anniversary. This was my first time at this venue and I really enjoyed the entire experience. Everything was organized and clean including the bathrooms.
We had the cheap seats all the way in the balcony but we were still able to see everyone good on the stage. The seats were comfortable and I like that you didn't feel smothered sitting to the person right next to you. The acoustics were good and I truly enjoyed the show.
There was sufficient street parking and I also saw a parking lot where you could park for $10. I would definitely check out another show at this venue.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Mar 8, 2022
I was super bedazzled by the Drum Tao Performance. We came to the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts with no expectations and were definitely impressed by the performance and would definitely watch another one of their show. The performance consists of combine music and dance that reflects Japanese tradition, and also incorporates Korean, Maori, and Indonesian influences.

They need to upgrade the Ladies Restroom on the main floor. It is outdated and doesn't look like it is cleaned on a regular basis.
Free parking on a weekend night if you arrive early for off-street parking. Otherwise, the parking lot is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tamar P.New York, NY0967Mar 5, 2019
I am done with Lehman Center. The first show I went to there was okay (Taj Express), but not great. The second show was mediocre (Ballet Hispanico) and featured multiple ridiculously long intermissions. The third show (Currents) was okay and would have been fine, except the actual show differed very much from the description of the show on their website! That was the last straw. I would not have bothered to attend this show if I had known this to be the case. Also, their programs always seem to start late, yet they're still seating people through the first 15 minutes of the show, and they don't wait for a break between acts to do so, so you have people walking all over the place while you're trying to watch.
It's not worth the two hour roundtrip schlep from Manhattan to go to a place that can't even get a program description right and seems to have a pattern of booking second-rate shows that wouldn't cut it at a more well-known venue. I appreciate the diversity of their offerings, but seriously, book better shows.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stephanie W.Bronx, NY62388Aug 17, 2017
Totally appreciate this venue. Not only are the shows awesome, but they display the diversity and culture of the Bronx. I've seen better shows at Lehman than at Madison Square Garden. A true Bronx treasure!

Attended the Forever Freestyle concert with my mom. I only had two concerns - the seats are way too close together, and it tends to get very hot up in the balcony/mezzanine sections since it gets crowded, and it was almost IMPOSSIBLE to find a vendor who was selling something to drink other than alcohol. I ultimately found a water fountain, but it was a hassle to keep getting up from my chair to keep myself hydrated during the show due to the heat. Overall, great show, took me back to being a child in the 90's.

I saw Diego El Cigala on 4-14-18. Lehman announced that it would close during July and August for a million dollar make over which is great. Diego's performance- he bickered with the pianist during the whole performance because the instrument drowned out his voice somewhat. That was rather entertaining. He also walked off stage to address a lighting issue and within minutes a spotlight was shining on the diva. The audience was also treated to an ongoing range of unusual gestures, grimaces, and sounds. The opening act, Alex Conde and his band, were a shining example of being hungry and passionate at the start of a musical career. After Conde closed his set, the evening took a surreal turn. I won't go see El Cigala again but once was ok, for laughs.

Excellent shows. In my experience shows always start on time with good sound and lighting.
Parking is not an issue and ticket prices are better than in NYC.
Bathroom accommodations remain a problem because they need larger bathrooms for large crowds.
By an large Lehman Center is one of the gems of the Bronx!!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
