Today was my birthday so I wanted to treat myself to a spa day!

My daughter went to this place last weekend with her girlfriends and said it was amazing. She came over to my house after and her skin and face were just glowing. She had the Korean Scrub; where they seriously scrub the hell out of your whole body head to toe, and it's not a gentle rub, it's a very vigorous exfoliation.
The prices are very inexpensive. Today I got the top of the line Milk & Honey
scrub and massage, the whole procedure was a full hour and 45 minutes.
I got up once to rinse off and thought she was finished and she was like,
"Get back on the table". Amazing. Incredible. Obsessed.

And all of it was $100, I was shocked. I tipped my girl $25 because she was so good and it's hard work!

The place itself is a older building but it's pristine inside, it had 2 big jacuzzis, 1 cold dip pool, sauna, steam and these cool cleaning yourself stations. I went too early so I had lots of time to use the amenities and I did.
I barely use my jacuzzi at home.

It was really busy when I got there around 12 ish but it cleared out big time right before my 2 p.m. appointment.
When I left I asked the girl at the front desk when were the slowest times and she said early morning. The funny thing is I usually am anal about crowded spas, but this didn't bother me because everyone was very chill and laid back.
I will be a returning customer for sure; at the very least once per month.
It would have been nice to have gone with a girlfriend being my birthday and all but I had a fabulous relaxing time.
I am literally glowing like light bulb ;)

For her last days in the US, the girl wanted a massage. Since girl has never had a K-scrub/massage, I decided to find a local K-spa. Off we went to Lawrence Health Spa (aka Lawrence Korean Spa) and indulge in Full Body Care (scrub + massage) for 1 hour and 15 minutes at $90.

In order to maximize our time, we arrived an hour early to take advantage of the steam room, dry sauna, whirlpool, hot tub, shower, chilled cold plunge, relax and resting area.

As newbies at these facilities, the staff person demonstrated how to create more steam for the steam room by grabbing a pink handled pot and scooping up some cold water from the cold plunge and hurling the water at the thermostat located on the wall near the ceiling. BTW, you're not allowed to touch anything.

Like Goldilocks, the hot tub was too hot for me and the cold plunge was too cold, but the whirlpool was just right. Usually, I like the rest and relaxation room's warm floors to nap on, but this one was not warm enough. In fact, there were some blankets to cover yourself.

The K-scrub and K-massage were like what I've had at other places so no difference there. Being that it was the girl's first time, she was grossed out by how much grey looking skin comes off with the scrub. In regards to the facilities, this place is more like a three.

If the Irvine Spa was closer to my home, I would go there because of their big warm floors, but they're not here, so LHS is good enough to get your fix.

The place is perfect place to detox your body. But there are many cultural conflict going on here.
For example, a girl wanted to keep her flip flop in side of sauna. Others who were already in sauna considered that flip flop shouldn't allowed in the sauna. And they got into fight. From my Asian perspective, you should not wear flip flop inside from the changing room and you should go to the tub with whole naked. I understand people from another culture feel uncomfortable about it. They wear flip flop and bathing suits. Hummmmm this is difficult problem....Since the manager preferred to go under Asian rule, should we be more strict to follow their rule. Or this is America so do we have to respect diversity and be flexible about it??????

*Ask Lucy for Acupressure massage. Her massage is powerful and hit the point.
*If you are having Brazilian Wax, come here to get body scrub to solve ingrown hair.

      Edit: Feb 22, 2018
Every time I came here I catch a cold, I am pretty sure this place has many germs...

I just learned that they closed their doors and were only allowing refunds for unused tickets until the day they closed. I'm stuck with a booklet of 7 tickets worth $16 each. What a freaking rip-off!

After closer inspection of the photo another reviewer posted, the small print says they will accept the vouchers at their Riveria Spa in Torrance. Since that 366 miles away, I'm in hot pursuit of the manager at the Torrance location for a resolution. Will keep you posted.

Update: I contacted the Riveria Spa in Torrance and was told the manager was unavailable and the receptionist did not want to give me his name. She pretended that she didn't know it and played super dumb with me. She took my number and, of course, no one called me back. I say we take to their Yelp page and complain like crazy until we get our money back! Here's the info:

The other location is called Riveria Health Spa on Lomalita Blvd. in Torrance, CA. https://rivierahealthspa.com/ and the number is listed as 310-375-5600 or 310-378-9810.

It's ok for the price but don't expect anything like the jimjilbangs in LA or Seoul. If you're used to the American spas, don't expect that here. Everyone in here is walking around free and naked.

The sauna, steam room and hot tubs aren't hot at all. The cold tub is nice and cold though. They don't have a co-ed area with any of the extra rooms like jade room, salt room etc.

Entrance fee is $20 which isn't too bad but for what they offer it wasn't worth it. All in all, it was an ok experience but I had low expectations going in and glad I did.

I like here a lot coming in once in a month or two. I get really good feeling, the tension on the body and mind are gone after soaking in a warm bubble bath and napping on the ondle (Jade).
This time, however, a lack of the number of the staff is noticeable. A curtain to the back door (oops!) and emergency door are wide open, the floors are with lots of dust and hairs, and everyone's robes are wrinkly.
I may move to other spa.

Pretty good Korean spa, at least the best I've found so far in the area. For those that have never been, here's what to expect.

      - Pay first at counter. $20 (prices as of 6/2019)
      - They will give you a locker key, bathrobe.
      - Go through the gender separate doors, where you take off your shoes.
      - Find your locker, undress, and put belongings in locker, and put on robe. Keep key around your wrist.
      - Walk down the hall, or use bathroom first. Put robe on one of the numbered racks.
      - grab a towel and walk into the spa room nude.
      - shower off first before you go into the pools, and enjoy!

It's a little awkward at first, but then it goes away after a couple minutes. Soon you feel like Adam and Eve before the Fall, roaming naked without a care. But instead, just a bunch of Adams, or just a bunch of eves.

I feel like there are either Asians or Russians here.
There's three pools and two saunas. A warm pool, hot pool, and cold. Dry sauna and steam. Area for showering and shaving/brushing teeth.

      Nice place to relax.

      Sorry, forgot to upload pics.

Closes August 25, 2019. Noisy. Rude. Rough (in a good way and bad)

Rude lady at the front desk. I had to wait for her to be done on the phone....speaker phone. No directions on what to do or where to go.

Left is for women. To a room with a tv and a lady sleeping on the floor of a stage. Odd.

Locker room. Put your stuff in the locker and put on the robe. Take the towels, key and piece of paper in the bath entrance. Give the paper to one of the ladies at the back tables. They call your number when they are ready. You have to give them your locker key at the table when called. Relax in a spa while you wait.

Best part is the scrub. Very little English so she gets mad when you do not do what she wants or understand her.

Washing my hair was a bit weird and kept dropping my head on the table.

$100 for 30 minute scrub and mill & honey massage.

I wanted to love this place so much! Excited to find a Korean spa in the bay area, I drove up with my niece in tow. No sooner did we get there and then I was told we needed appointments for treatments. Every Korean spa I've ever been to in Los Angeles has multiple people available at any given time so this threw me. We made appointments for later and came back.

We spent about three hours in the very small spot. The people who work here and the people who attend seem very traditional and kind. Especially when you have a child with you, they go out of their way to be nice. That's where it ends.

The facility is extremely old, cramped, dirty, and needs to be closed and power washed for about a week. Additionally they should fill cracks fix chips and do everything else necessary to get this place spic and span and neat. There is a lot of wasted space that is of no use to anyone attending specifically where the table and TV are. That whole area could be made into treatment rooms, jade rooms, salt rooms, etc. for the client. Right now it is wasted space and is a coffee klatch area where ladies congregate and get really loud watching TV all day.

I was also treated very rudely by the only shiatsu lady on staff. She told me not to come back because I didn't like to be walked on. I have two major injuries, and a chronic stomach condition that prevent me having a 150 pound plus woman walk all over my body. Next time we will go to LA for the kind of treatment and professional service that I'm used to.

Im not to sure how to rate this place. Only bc I'm from Orange Country. This is not my first rodeo to a korean spa and I've been many of them in Southern California.

Since the move. I've been on a hunt for a good korean spa to decompress, relax and get my monthly body scrubs.

This place is kind of outdated, maybe Bc it's old? I don't know. It's a small facility and no cafeteria. Beside just going in to get my scrubs. I wouldn't chill or hangout to relax.

Let's just say it's no Wii Spa in LA ( which is way to crowded for me and a little far ) or I spa in Irvine ( which is my all time favorite korean spa )
