I've been passing this place by for so many years...I'm almost embarrassed to say this was the first time I've stopped in.
If you're looking for wine...this place has a ton.
If you're looking for some really fresh looking seafood...this place is on ice!
If you're looking for a ton of meats from a NY Strip to a rack of Tomahawk Steaks...look no further! This place has them! I just don't have something big enough to grill one but dang...will you just feast your eyes on the selections here. Unbelievable is the word.
But what intrigued me even more is that they have so many fresh pasta selections that's ready for you to take home and make an amazing dinner with. Forget that stuff you get from Whole Foods or Publix, this is the place to show off your Italian Culinary skills, and I for one can't wait to pass by again give my kitchen skills a try.
They also have a steam table that has different cooked foods that you can self serve and just pay but I suggest coming in early when they're all done. When I stopped by, it was already after 1pm so the selections didn't look as good as I'm sure they did when they were just made.
Everyone here is super friendly, maybe overly but that's certainly a great thing!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Nov 20, 2016
If you can't find it here, they don't make it! In addition to every variety of Italian cookie, meat, condiment, homemade pasta, and delicacy, they have a wide selection of other ethnic and international foods. Nuts? Candy? Specialty vinegars? Wines? Dried mushrooms? And not just one... but a dozen of everything. Duck pate with truffles? Check. Cheeses up the ying yang? Check. Olives? Check.
You can wander and window shop here for hours. From uncooked and canned to their in-house restaurant (it's in the middle) with its variety of cooked fare, the narrow aisles are a wonderland for the gourmet and the gourmand.
So, I came to buy Italian chestnuts. I'm a sucker for roasted chestnuts. It reminds of my father who used to make them and the holidays. And they had a barrel of them.
What did I wind up buying? A pound plus of shiny Italian chestnuts; San Benedetto peach ice tea (had it at the yelp sock collection event in Boca and fell in love); Haribo lemon and ginger candy (hard to find & my husband loves em);and two large stuffed cooked artichokes (yum) to have with dinner...
What did I want to buy? Italian mini ravioli stuffed with Gorgonzola (boxed), tins of anchovies, high end balsamic vinegar, pastries, stone crabs; huge prawns; coffee soda, babaganoush.... but I left these for next time I'm in the area.Helpful 14Thanks 0Love this 12Oh no 0 - Aug 12, 2018
I love Italian food so when I found out there was an Italian market in Miami I made sure to go visit. The market was not what I expected. Everyone was very serious and avoided eye contact with the clients. No one spoke to us or greeted us. There was only a few customers around and they all seemed to be regulars.
In the middle of the store, they have a nice setup with a bar and a few tables. We knew they were having a wine tasting when we saw the sign for it by the bar, however no one talked to us when we approached the area. We even took a look at the wine bottles in a gesture of finding out what was going on but we were completely ignored. We are wine lovers so I'm sure we would've purchased a few bottles but no one cared to even acknowledge us. The regulars were seating there just drinking the wine and eating cheese. Awkward moment!
We decided to just take a walk around the store before stepping out. We found a nice pork loin at a good price and scamorza cheese which is not that easy to find at regular supermarkets. We took a look at the products in the aisles and to our surprise many of them were already expired. One sauce in particular was dated June 2017 and we are in August 2018. More than a year expired is just unacceptable.
At the cash register, the lady just rang the products, took our money and never spoke to us or looked at us. It was just rude.
We love to sponsor local establishments and markets, but this was just a terrible experience.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - May 15, 2018
This is an amazing one stop shop for all things Italian in North Miami. This store has become a weekend staple for us and definitely worth the 30 minute drive from where we live. You can get your fix of fresh pastas, home-made sauces, desserts, fresh meats, cheeses by the pound, and every imaginable brand of olive oil.
Our favorite is the salad bar. We love their Stuffed cherry peppers, cheese filled olives, artichoke hearts and pickled tomatoes.
After finishing your grocery shopping you can stop in to the restaurant and enjoy a tasty Italian lunch. The cheese steak and Lasagne are delish.
Across the parking lot they also have a Farmer's Market where you can get all your fresh fruits and vegetables at a very affordable price.

Market and cafeteria, one stop and you can do your grocery shopping and find items you wouldn't find at a local grocery store.
Spent a lot of time browsing and picked up several items I hadn't seen in a while and we also had reasonably priced lunch. It was the perfect stop after we visited a local nearby ancient monasteryHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Rob G.Miami, FL0453329Jan 30, 2018
This is a great local market that also has prepared food / buffet style with plenty of lunch tables. Yes, this is an Italian market, but they have foods from all over the world! They also have a meat / seafood section and bakery. Also across the street, they have a produce center.
Ive been coming here for pretty much my entire life in Florida and its nice to see they are still around. Yes, there are bigger markets, but bigger isn't always better. Chances are, if you come here, you will find what you are looking for, and then some. I found some hard to find hot-sauce that comes from Malaysia, and was only available online.
Conclusion, great market in North Miami Beach for specialty items, meats, seafood and baked goods. If not shopping, and looking for quick bite, they have a great lunch spread with fresh food. Definitely give them a try, and support your local mom and pop shops.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Michael S.North Miami, FL6713932928Aug 17, 2017
As good as south Florida Italian can be and beyond. Sure, there are quite a few local spots for the Italian flare in Miami and parts north and south, however when your market and restaurant can remain in one spot and thrive as does Lorenzo's, you have something special. Start with the general market and café. That is what my wife and I finally did one Saturday afternoon, while we heard there was a wine tasting event, we made haste, and though the wine brought us on, it was that and everything else that keeps bringing us back.
Sure, vino is a huge part of the market, there are multiple long aisles and you can get lost just looking; however, couple that with the bakery, the deli counter, the café, the general market merchandise and all in between goodies, and you could spend an entire afternoon at this spot. The goods are fresh and the prices are right, all considering the quality for great value. Only recently after visiting the wine tasting did we enjoy the café line as well as the fresh fruit and vegetable market, located just on the other side of the parking lot. The selections of simple and exotic fruits from all over the region will have you examining each colorful treat you encounter.
Parking at Lorenzo's center is a breeze, whether you are lucky enough to pull in and park right off the street or just pull into the lot and park in one of the many available spaces. You will always be on the move and ready to go. I must send a huge shout out to the fine staff at Lorenzo's. Truthfully, these fine folks are what bring us back, week after week. During the hours of 1pm - 4pm, Lorenzo's holds a complimentary wine tasting; and sure, there are your locals, like us, who enjoy the libations each weekend; however there are newbies who get to experience this hideaway each and every time as something new and refreshing. The folks handing out the samples are very well versed with each selection and you will leave, usually with a bottle or two, with more knowledge about the world of spirits than you ever though imaginable.
As the time to check out arrives, the front end staff will take great care of you as well and have you on your way in no time; they accept all forms of payment and are very kind. I give Lorenzo's a giant thumbs up and stamp of approval. Stop on by and try it all out. SYOY!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 75328563Dec 20, 2017
It's places like this that make me wish Yelp offered a sixth star as a rating.
Laurenzo's has lots of specialty foods that you will never find anywhere else. If you like Italian food, you will love Laurenzo's. If you grew up in an Italian family, you will see things on the shelf from your childhood, from family meals and good times at the table.
Things that stand out for me: fresh-made sausage, every day. Salmon and seafood like you will never see at Publix. Cookies and pastries, like my uncle used to bring to my Mom's house every Christmas. "Real bread" (you know what I mean...) They also have some specialty cold cuts, salamis that I have never seen anywhere else, prosciutto like you'd cut with a knife, and more...
There is a nice selection of wines too, but they are a bit pricy, more than other liquor stores.
Laurenzo's also has specialty pastas, both fresh and frozen, like cavatellis and other hard-to-find things.
But -- last but not least, Laurenzo's has a little restaurant with a buffet. I had the meat lasagna. If you are like me, and want more inside lasagna than just ricotta, then you will enjoy it. Rigatoni, sausage, peppers, and more.
Staff is friendly. Parking is tight.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mauro R.West Palm Beach, FL75283236Jul 14, 2019
Too bad, but this place, after 69 years, is closing, They had the best Italian deli for me, speck aged right, great Prosciutto di Parma (real, not like some other places in Miami...), great dried Bresaola, and the Parmacotto.
Unfortunately the founder, Ben Laurenzo, passed away in January 2018 and they can't keep it up. It's a big loss for those Italians who were looking for Italian deli that was good and priced reasonably.
Thanks for the long time of service.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Adriano P.North Miami, FL347187368Jun 2, 2019
I love this place. You can find fresh pasta, tons of products from one of my favorite countries , and fresh cheeses and different meat cuts. Last time I got a superb cowboy steak.
