Daisy and Jimmy made taking our first Beginner Salsa Dancing class so fun and welcoming! Jimmy's instruction was very clear and easy to follow. The class took place in a beautiful, spacious outdoor space, and the music was great too! Highly recommend!

Love this places found this place just randomly and I am soooo pleased with my results in my dance skills and surprisingly my confidence. I got a chance to really learn skills, musicality wise styling little tricks. I was able to talk to Sergio and get his story
He is a Professional Latin dancer and Master Instructor, Sergio Leal, became a professional dancer and world dance competitor after graduating from Cal Poly Pomona with a Degree in Pure Mathematics in 2000. His dynamic performing skills and unique choreography have entertained audiences across the U.S. and have been featured in award-winning routines ,T.V., film, Theater and numerous articles and magazines throughout his dance career. His dance background includes Latin Ballroom, Argentine Tango, Hustle, Bachata, and Salsa
So he has so much background on dancing and also instructing. This is extremely important when you want to find a place called home when it comes to dancing. Enjoy :)Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Cynthia B.Los Angeles, CA86779Oct 9, 2020
1st time taking classes with Sergio and to say I had a blast was an understatement.
1st off- Covid Consideration:
- these classes have been moved to a wide outdoor space with plenty of fresh air and breathing room.
- Only prepaid students allowed since there is a set capacity to give everyone space and separation.
- upon check in, temperature is taken.
- all students must sign a waiver to acknowledge they are not infected or around anyone that was.
- everyone must wear their masks
Sergio as an instructor-
Some are great dancers and not good instructors. Some are great instructors but not the best dancer.
SERGIO IS THE TOTAL PACKAGE!! He looks great doing the moves and can teach you how to do the same.
He's very clear with his instructions
He teaches each step layer by layer. 1st the steps, the technique, foot work, then hips, posture, and arms.
You can tell he is very very very experienced and has been dancing and teaching for a very long time.
Great music selection.
He made "complicated" steps feel easy.
Not only did he teach proper techniques but he was in tune with how you style your steps so you can "shine" on the dance floor!
Bonus- although I was already in the front row, I appreciated him rotation the lines so everyone would have an opportunity to be in the front.
I can't wait to attend more classes and ask more people to join me next time.
I'm so happy I found a fun outlet to express myself, get my workout in, and have a good time.
Hope to see you at the next class.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Tiara A.La Crescenta, CA074May 2, 2019
Love this place! So warm, welcoming, and its like a salsa family! I don't have latin dance experience but Sergio makes the environment so comfortable and natural that you're able to pick up the steps without feeling self conscious or nervous. I took the Salsa beginner series on Saturdays and had such a great experience.
I didn't think i would catch on as fast as I did bc but honestly its surprising how quickly you master the basic. They do a great job of getting you comfortable and confident with the basic steps so then you feel like you're able to tackle the more complicated stuff without feeling like a mess.
No matter your level of experience, I highly recommend these classes!! And the $90/month package is literally unlimited classes. And they actually mean unlimited lol I was confused at first but YES, you can try out other beginner classes if you want to learn other dances, you're not boxed into a strict schedule with any one type of dance. (I highly recommend checking out the bachata classes - so fun and uhm sexxxy. Trust me).
So you can pop in to any other of the series on different days if your schedule changes and they are so accommodating. This was really nice bc sometimes my schedule changes and I didn't want to feel like i was missing out or falling behind. Also plenty of parking right by the studio, a huge lot so i never have trouble finding a spot and its free.
Also with unlimited pass you can go to the Tuesday evening classes at Ixtapa on Colorado in pasadena. After the classes it basically turns into a club and you get to practice and have a drink and its such a nice break from my crazy week. Love it!! SO fun.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - LD S.Glendale, CA115221May 1, 2019
Unprofessional and scattered. Their calendar is not updated so I and about 10 others showed up for a class that wasn't even happening... which you know what, alright, stuff happens but take responsibility to the mistake or lack of communication. They did not and just turned everyone away.
The vibe is cold and un welcoming. It was my first time and the women checking people in really couldn't care less that I understood anything about them, their company, their very incorrect calendar, etc. She was rude and had elitist attitude.
What I understand by this first visit is that they don't hold their clients to a high regard and very unaware of how they come off and simple business practices. (They were also about 15 minutes late to the their class that was happening)
This is something that is supposed to bring joy.
They probably dance well however clients are not paying them to simply dance well...we pay for this so you can teach us while respecting us.
Don't pay to for this kind of service anywhere... especially for a dance class that is supposed to be fun.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Victor R.Los Angeles, CA762May 13, 2019
Amazing instructor who is passionate about teaching! If you want to start mastering any dance style start here! I've been a regular of Sergio for almost a year now. Happy to say that dancing has change my life in a positive way. Can't Thank him enough for being a great teacher and friend!
If your new pay attention to his website calendar and his social media as things might change. We are all human and have lives. Reschedules and start times might happen. They rare if they do happen but his very courteous about announcing it through social media and emails.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Genesis E.Downey, CA682144Feb 7, 2018

I took beginners Cumbria with Sergio. I loved it. The instructions were very clear and it was fun to learn. You don't need a partner to attend the class, since every one rotates. Which is a good thing since you get challenged because everyone has a different style of dancing, but of course it's fun! Sergio observed everyone and would make a point to take more time on any individual he saw was struggling to grasp any steps. As far as the Groupon, it is for beginner classes. I don't see why the girl who wrote a previews review had a problem with it since you are notified of this before making a purchase. Anyways, I'd recommend it. I had a lot of fun, and I looked forward to class every week. I'm definitely coming back.
