I first saw Dr Kilmer in 2001 for CO2 laser. This was in its beginning stages, and I was one of Dr Kilmer's first patients. After the treatment I did not see great results and had heard of Dr Peppercorn who also did CO2. Since this time and up to 2019 I have had 6 sessions with Dr Peppercorn and the outcome was amazing. He has great communication, and even called me personally after each procedure. Fast forward to 2023...

After learning of Dr Peppercorn's retirement, I called Laser and Skin Center to make an appointment as I had heard they had advanced their technology. I asked for an appointment with Drew Kilmer and was told that she only takes on very few clients. Since I was one of her very first patients, I was hoping she would make an exception, the receptionist said she would ask and get back to me. I never heard from anyone, so I called back and, agreed to see one of the other doctors for a consultation. I asked if she would request the records from Dr Peppercorns office to mirror what he had done, and she said she would. Soon after I received an estimate for $4000 for the lower part of my face being the chin and she had not requested the records as promised. This is a big difference from Dr. Peppercorn $5000 full face.

I have made several requests to get an appointment with Dr. Kilmer and was told that the PA would speak to her and get back to me.

This has been going on since September 2023 and it is now January 2024., I called and asked to have my consultation fee refunded, again I was told someone would call me back. The money is not important as I did have a consultation however, I was hoping that this would spark some acknowledgment and bare minimum a call back. Unfortunately, it seems that customer service is not a strong suit for this establishment.

This review is not motivated to persuade anyone, it's merely to describe my experience. The care from Dr. Peppercorn and his staff are a stark difference between Laser and Skin Center.

Highly recommend! I've had the following services here and couldn't be happier with the results.
-Laser hair removal
-Smoothbeam laser treatment

Beware of false advertising. Today I was charged two and a half times what I was shown initially for a third laser hair removal treatment. Make sure that you keep the initial estimate they draw up for you because they won't honor the agreement unless you saved a copy of it. Also, I received an ultrasound treatment that was extremely painful and had not been adequately warned that it would be painful. I assumed that since diagnostic ultrasound is painless that this ultrasound treatment would be painless as well. This turned out to be anything but the case.

Took my daughter here to get laser for her birthmark (right cheek) due to great reviews. After the 3rd or 4th session the machine they used gave her a blister on her face. Her cheek is scarred and we will no longer return.

I've sent them an email and they email me back and said I will be receiving a call the next following week it's been a week and no calls and no emails. Did not answer any of my questions. Guess I'll try another place.

I'm not sure about all of these great reviews; I'm really disappointed in this whole experience tbh. They were the top rated dermatologist office in a sizeable city and the deal was that after being assessed by the derm the $400 deposit would apply to any treatment within the first year after assessment. So the treatment she suggested was 3 chemical peels. They acted like it wouldn't apply for these treatments because the dermatologist was not the one applying them. But that was not specified on paper; it literally said for any treatment within the first year following the assessment. So they told me okay they could apply it.
Then said $70 of it was still needed to be paid by me when the treatment was listed at $190 (I'm assuming for the products for aftercare, I don't know though). So I just paid it and they asked me if I'd like to leave a tip? I've never heard of a doctor's office asking that before, and honestly I was taken a bit aback and just tipped $20 because the esthetician was nice; I won't go back, I think.
The dermatologist had prescribed 3 peels and that was the first. But they also said the $400 only applies to the first one. And THAT wasn't specified either on the paperwork I initially received. So if I want the next two it will be another $190 then$210 because they're different strengths.
At first the lady tried to do a superficial peel like an extra light one and it just felt like they were trying to skimp me. I am not really excited about that experience at all. I am not someone who flippantly spends money like this ever, it was a really exciting thing I wanted to do to finally treat my skin for some light concerns I'd always wanted fixed and it just ended up not being how they presented it at first. Sucks.

I met with Dr. Kang for a consultation for laser treatment. She was very kind, knowledgeable and did not try to up-sale me. Dr. Kang referred me to Kathy for my treatment. Kathy explained what she would be doing and why. She constantly asked how I was doing and feeling. I felt very confident with her. I am going back for my second treatment with no hesitation.

I was charged 500$ for lower leg laser hair removal. I called three different places afterwards which have more stars on Yelp. They charge 90-130$ per session with the same recommendations. Shop around...5 times more expensive than other places is a ripoff
