This is a beautiful park on Lake Winnebago with many fun things to do! We enjoyed riding the train, walking on the nice paths, looking at the various boats, and viewing the colorful, well-maintained gardens. We didn't stay long enough to ride the carousel, visit the petting zoo, rent boats, use the playground, or climb to the top of the 40-foot lighthouse (which is free, and is open from May 1-Oct. 15). Next time we will plan to stay longer!

One of the best local parks I have experienced. They have a huge playground with a wide array of equipment. There's even a miniature zip line. Older and younger kids will love it.
The park also has a little train that goes around the perimeter, kids rides, and paddle boat rentals. There's a lot of trails and well maintained gardens here too.
The lakefront is quite nice and has a small lighthouse on one side of the park. Worth a stop if you do find yourself in Fond du Lac.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 8, 2021
A really nice park right on the south shore of Lake Winnebago. There are great bike and walking paths throughout plus baseball fields, a miniature train, a petting zoo, a splash pool, and many picnic areas to name just a few of the features. Of course there is also a marina. Very clean.
Convenient to downtown Fond du Lac - a real gem for this community.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 3, 2021
If you are a lake lover and enjoy a daily dose of fresh air, this is an ideal spot for you to check out while in Fond du Lac. We walked about 1.3 miles straight from downtown to the park. It was an easy walk and we passed maybe 2 people while walking there and back. We felt very safe while walking and enjoyed getting to see more of the town. The park was very busy. Not many people were wearing masks but, the park is big and very clean. Whether you were out for a stroll, a picnic or fishing, there was plenty of space to stay socially distanced. The lighthouse was closed but, it was lovely to see up close and to walk around it. We especially enjoyed the surprise swallow nests under the top of the tower. It was a treat to be surrounded by hundreds of swallows flying here, there and everywhere! The views of Lake Winnepago were stunning and the marina made for some great selfies backdrops ;) We also noticed some kitsch historical gems like a retired steam engine at one of the entrances that used to travel from Fond du Lac to Minneapolis and Canada. There is no shortage of things to do solo, as a family or with a group of friends. Plus, it doesn't cost a thing to visit the park.

A lovely park, even in the off-season. The lighthouse is not especially large but it's beautifully maintained and easy to climb. Excellent views of Lake Winnebago. We felt very welcome here and loved our short visit.

Such a FUN and beautiful park! We visited for the first time today and we were left planning the next time we could visit. The kids loved the rides, splash pad, playground, and ice cream truck. Beautiful scenery and a lovely place to walk.

It's beautiful here.
There's a lighthouse, lake michigan, boats, merry go round, & other rides.
You can walk around for hours & enjoy the views & air & nature.

Whenever I am in the area, I always drive through! Wonderful lighthouse, picnic areas, carnival rides for the kiddies (so much fun when I was little).
The Christmas light show has always been great, but in the past two years have been AMAZING!! They now have a fully animated light show with music! You can see the previous years videos on www.fdllights.com
Just be careful when walking in the grass, much like any lakeside park... there are an abundance of geese that leave behind... well, you know!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Pete M.Fond du Lac, WI196294151Feb 16, 2018
I have lived in many places and I don't know if the people in Fond du Lac truly appreciate what a great little gem they have in Lakeside Park. This park, sitting on the southern tip of Lake Winnebago, is absolutely stunning. It offers many paths to wander throughout it's approximately 400 acres. While wandering those paths, you will come across, a petting zoo, a deer enclosure, a carousel, a miniature train to ride, a large playground with designated areas for different aged kids, as well as a walk up lighthouse, a baseball/softball complex, numerous shelters and great old bandstand that is by the Fond du Lac Symphony to play during July 4th. With it's winding channel cutting the park into a number of "islands" there are plenty of bridges for some great views, or to fish off of, and during the holidays they light the park up. The park also plays host to many events all throughout the year, and even on weekends that they don't its a great place to come for a cookout, or do what we like to do, and grab some bagels or pastries and coffee from one of the local bakeries and enjoy an early morning breakfast lakeside.

Lakeside Park is a must-see anytime you visit Fond du Lac.
When the weather is nice, you can spend the whole day at Lakeside Park, and not see it all, nor spend a cent. In winter, you can see some excellent lighting displays, and stop to listen to holiday music, near The Bandstand.
I am a FDL native, and current resident, and highly recommend a visit to Lakeside Park.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
