This was my 2nd time eating food from here, but my first time eating on site. I had the usual n00b thai stuff: Thai Rolls, Crab Rangoon and Chicken Pad Thai and everything was excellent. The Pad Thai is some of the best in Greater Boston, and I have tried most. Service was solid, but it was kinda slow...so hard to guage for sure.
When I had the take out it was good, but I would avoid the Crab Rangoon because it looses something when it sits.
Definitely would come back. -

Ordered take out last night. Flavors are great! I do agree with another reviewer that my Red Chicken Curry had three pieces of chicken in it. The Crab Rangoon was a bit over fried and made it very hard. Pad Thai was dry and uneventful. Chicken Wings were tasty. Drunken Noodles, very good but only a few pieces of chicken. I think this restaurant should be more generous with their meat portions.
Why do I always have to buy a side of rice at Thai restaurants?? Give your customers what they want, instead of making them order sides to complete their meal -

update - gave this place another shot.
The steamed gyoza were very good. The mango curry chicken was not....let me explain. It had a very nice flavor but literally only had 3 pieces of very thin chicken in it. I was left with a tub of mango curry veggies...which is nice...but again, I ordered chicken and got hardly any chicken.1 Previous Review: Show all »

After getting takeout here a handful of times I'm not sure what to rate them. Their Pad Thai was pretty terrible, but their avocado curry and massaman curry were outstanding. It usually only takes them 15 minutes to put together an order. I've never dined at the restaurant, but it seems like they do far more business with takeout customers since since I have never seen more than one table full while picking up my order. Now that I live closer to Tufts I don't plan to make the trek over that far for Thai since Sweet Chili is a bit closer.

I have one question for you Lady Siam....why would you include rice in your dishes in your way super cheap lunch deals, but at dinner make us pay $1.50 for one single little scoop of steamed rice to eat with a dish that clearly is supposed to have rice served with it? I mean rice is SO cheap to buy in bulk, I don't get it?
Because of that, I had to knock you down to three stars. I'm sorry but it is just pretty steep to make us pay that on top of already paying $10 for a dish which comes with rice included at lunch for $7! You do make a pretty mean yellow curry sauce though. I got that with beef and it had just the perfect amount of curry coconut creamy texture and flavor and those pineapple chunks in it paired so well with the mixed vegetables, I was quite the happy thai camper, except for the fact that I asked for it spicier and it definitely didn't seem too spicy to me....
Anna B. got her standard cashew nut chicken and also was very content, but she too thought it was crazy to be charged $1.50 for rice...And your signature lady siam rolls are tiny and small and we had to ask for extra of that pepper sweet sauce, but they were also little bites of fun for us to start our meal on. And your water service was impeccable. I definitely don't think anyone could go thirsty here ever ha
I would maybe come here again to try out some other things, but I think lunch is the way to go here, it is just such a better deal. But maybe I'll do take out since then I have an excuse to see those awesome orange painted walls again :-) -

Just ordered pad thai with chicken and shrimp and the tom yum noodle soup for take out on a frigid evening. I was very pleasantly surprised. Both had a very home cooking flavoring--not too sugary sweet or overly vinegar tasting, just nicely well balanced flavors of fragrant onions in the broth and toasted peanuts in the pad thai. Five stars for very fast delivery and as a staple place nearby that delivers. I look forward to tasting other specialties in the future!

Attention white people: the gauntlet has been thrown. My parents, who are Korean, have deemed this restaurant's namesake pad thai to be "delicious and too spicy for white people to eat." They thoroughly enjoyed this as they exchanged it and the tom yum something soup between them through the course of the meal.
A good Vietnamese restaurant can be judged by its pho. I ordered the tofu and vegetable pho and was not disappointed-- but its hard to go wrong with this simple soup and a bunch of sambal and Sriracha. All-around good sized portions with decent prices to match, although I've had bigger bowls of pho at other restaurants, but no matter, I still enjoyed my meal and left satisfied.
By the way, this place is TINY. 8-12 tables depending on how they arrange the tables. It's a cozy place, bordering on cramped, with music on low in the background and not noisy at all. Good service despite how busy it was when I was there. -

When I moved out to the 'burbs I was super worried about leaving Dok Bua behind. I'm not exaggerating, it was third on my "cons" list. 60 million Thai people agree that easy access to good Thai food is vital for human happiness. Luckily, Lady Siam stepped in to not quite fill the gap that Dok Bua left, but at least ease the pain of separation
Lady Siam definitely qualifies as a hole-in-the-wall, which may be a little off putting to suburban customers, but if you get past the decor, you're definitely in for a treat.
The menu isn't super extensive, but they have all the things you'd expect from a Thai restaurant, as well as some specials and tasty Vietnamese dishes. The fried stuff I've tried there has always been light and crispy, and the sauces tend to be complex and flavorful, not just a pile of chili or syrup. The lady siam pad thai is seriously some of the most delicious(and hot) pad thai I've ever had.
The portions are really huge, and the prices aren't bad either. Lady Siam is definitely worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood. -

Yesterday we got take out from Lady Siam. I got the Soft shell crab appetizer, Dac Biet pho, and Com Suon (Pork Chop). They didn't have the pork chop so we substitued for the regular grilled pork instead. Well, everything was quite disappointing. The soft shell crab was deep fried with a tempura batter (not flaky though) on a bed of iceberg lettuce with a sweet chili mayo sauce. You can taste the guts of the soft shell crab, and let me tell you, it was pretty nasty.
Next, the grilled pork was pretty plain. Grilled pork with garlic on it on a bed of white rice. I haven't been to a vietnamese restaurant that you can see stir fry garlic on your pork. Plus, the stir fry garlic gave it such a taste that lingers in your mouth for the rest of the night.
The Dac Biet pho was very very disappointing. First of, they did not use real Pho broth. Second, who puts garlic in pho broth!!! Dac Biet is supposed to have raw thinly slice beef, tendon, tripe, rounds, and some other stuff, but at this place, they only gave us the thinly slice beef & beef rounds with a lil bit of tendon attached to it.
Overall, I had better. I might try it again for curry, but for Vietnamese cuisine, i'd rather goto an authentic Pho place. -

This place is right next to Toraya (see my review of them!) and my friend and I decided to check it out when the former place was closed one day. This turned out to be a fortunate misfortune.
Just like Toraya, it's a hole-in-the-wall place, with a limited amount of seating, since they mainly seem to do take-out. We were the only people eating in at first, but by the end of our meal there were 3 other tables filled.
We ordered the beef satay, pad thai, yellow curry and spring rolls. The food was prepared fast and the service was attentive. The beef and curry were pretty much perfectly done, the ingredients all fresh and flavorful... the spring rolls were more generic, but in a good to average way. The pad thai was not too greasy like it can be at some Thai venues, but it was over-sweetened and this detracted from it.
Of things that should be sweet, I noticed the table behind us order bubble tea and it looked amazing. They have a wide variety of flavors on the menu as well as other dessert-type drinks that appeal to my inner diabetic fatty.
The portions were generous and all of this cost us only around $35, including the drinks. My only real critique does not apply if you're planning on ordering take-out: it was *extremely* warm and humid inside, so much that my water glass steamed over and I started to feel a bit uncomfortably hot. They either have no AC, or had it shut off, and with no ventilation either eating here is going to get sticky in the summer.
I can be very picky about Thai food (technically this place serves Thai & Vietnamese) so Lady Siam was a pleasant consolation. -

2.5. I can't see myself ordering here again. It wasn't bad, but I was disappointed. First off, the order had an error. $4 soup was inedible because it had cilantro in it (menu doesn't mention that). Some people can't stand cilantro, the other 50% don't care about it, but please mention it. Summer rolls were 95% lettuce, maybe more. My beef dish wasn't bad, but it wasn't that good either. It lacked flavor and the beef had huge strings of fat running through various pieces. You'd normally cut that off and not serve that to a paying customer. For the price, this food should be much better.

Good service. Good atmosphere. Good food. I would definitely come back here if I happened to be in the area and was in the mood for decent Thai/Vietnamese food. I wouldn't make a special trip just to eat here though.

Have only had take-out once. Overall the food was a bit bland, but I would definitely dry again.
My family sampled four different dishes (one curry noodle, one pad thai, one beef, one chicken), an app and a soup. All were fresh tasting, but lacked savory flavor (I'm not talking about MSG here). The sauces need some oomph. -

We went before the dinner rush today, and the food, service, and quickness of preparation was excellent.
I ordered the vegetarian pho and my husband ordered the panang curry chicken. My pho was very flavorful, which is sometimes hard to find with a vegetarian soup. The veggies were fresh, crisp, and held their flavor in the boiling hot broth. The chicken was spicy as ordered, but the sauce was flavorful without being overpowered by the heat. I also ordered a honeydew melon bubble tea (yom!) and my husband (who doesn't particularly like honeydew) stole sips from me when I wasn't looking. That's how good that was.
I was guessing that they get a lot of high schoolers there, since the restaurant is right across the street from the school and the prices are low. i was right. There were three idiot teenagers yapping away about not liking Molly and Paige, whether or not to try magic mushrooms on a pizza, and using the words "like" and "whatever" no less than 200 times in five minutes. I wanted to gouge my eardrums out with my chopsticks, and thankfully, the staff turned up the lovely Thai music so the teenage nightmares were slightly muted. -

Got the chicken vermicelli, ginger tofu, and Hawaii fried rice. all were very good
Vermicelli seemed to be missing lime or something that I could not put my finger on, but was still very good.
Ginger tofu was excellent, as was the Hawaii fried rice. -

Lady Siam might be my new go-to pho delivery now that Pho House is closed.... They deliver both through foodler and if you call them directly. (although through foodler my total, including $2 delivery, would have been about $17 and change, before tip, and my total calling them directly was $20, before tip, FYI...) Super fast delivery if you call them directly, though! And both the woman that I spoke with on the phone and the woman who delivered to us were super friendly.
The vegetable pho was flavorful and had plenty of still crispy vegetables. I like that they put the two sauces in two different containers so you can skip the hot sauce, if you prefer. I was surprised, though, that the container with the noodles (they package them separately, so the noodles don't get soggy) was half empty. It's definitely enough soup for two meals, but not nearly enough noodles. A little disappointing. How expensive can noodles be?
The Lady Siam Pad Thai ordered by the boyfriend was the perfect amount of spice, the noodles were nice and chewy, and the chicken (he opted for chicken only, although it normally comes with shrimp too) was delicious. Also enough for two meals!
The empty space in my heart and stomach left by the closing of Pho House might be filled by Lady Siam and they have plenty of other non-pho options for the non-pho-eater in the house! -
Review from Doris W.
My boyfriend and I were craving pho a few nights ago. We usually go to Saigon Noodles in Malden, but I thought of trying some place different. Despite mixed reviews on the pho, I gave it a shot. Like I say, you'll never know unless you try it for yourself! I'm glad I gave it a try, but I definitely will not be getting it again. It's a little more expensive than other restaurants, but then again, they specialize in Thai cuisine.
I ordered take out and it was great they separated the noodles, soup, and meat for the dac biet. The noodle portions for the dac biet were smaller than the pho ga's. My boyfriend was disappointed with that. But the biggest disappointment was the broth. Both soups tasted nothing like pho. It was a watered down broth with what may seem like a lot of MSG. It was very savory tasting, slightly salty. We didn't taste any spices. The taste overall wasn't bad, but it wasn't pho. I would not recommend the pho here.
With that said, I will give it another shot but with their Thai dishes instead. Hopefully that will bring their rating higher. -

This review is for delivery only.
We ordered at Lady Siam from http://Foodler.com because I was craving Thai and Lady Siam offered a 10% first time order discount.
After I hit the send button to purchase my order, I realized that it will take them an hour to get the food here, pretty long by delivery standard. Nevertheless, the food was worth the wait!
We got the
Crispy Chicken Pad Thai for 11.95
Spring roll and beef rice vermicelli bowl for 7.95 (CHEAP)
the portions are gigantic and the food...its definitely the best Pad Thai I've had in Bost
The minimum order for this place is $15 and there's a $2 delivery fee, which isnt too bad. This place will be my new favourite Thai food place. I can't wait to visit in person! -
Review from Phil C.
For suburban Thai food, Lady Siam is pretty good. They serve some Vietnamese food as well. The restaurant is really small and you can easily miss this place, as then you'll be looking for Blue Ribbon BBQ, undoubtedly.
I had the beef red curry lunch box, which was a rather nice value. They give you a really good amount of curry and beef. The sauce isn't too hot, though I wouldn't have minded some more heat. It comes in a Japanese bento box. The little fried spring rolls weren't anything special.
The tom yum soup that accompanies the meal was really good. It wasn't warm, but the taste was a nice balance of savory/sour. Some places have their tom yum soup taste like hot pickle juice.
The service was efficient, if anything. You're not going to get an abundance of warmth from the wait staff, but I'm sure you will from the food. -

I was hoping to love this place this from reading some of the other reviews. It was a big disappointment.
I ordered the pho dac biet, what a horrible choice. The broth tasted weird like it had Tom yum soup mixed in and the meat was tough to eat.
My husband ordered the hawaiian fried rice, it was lacking a lot of flavor and the rice was quite dry.
We won't be coming back here. -

I ordered using http://foodler.com for lunch yesterday. We just moved to Arlington center I and have been excited about all the take-out options nearby. Lady Siam did not disappoint. The pad see ew tasted a little fishier than I'm used to, but different isn't necessarily bad, and the that iced tea bubble tea smoothie more than made up for it. I'm looking forward to trying everything that Lady Siam has to offer.

Lady Siam is a really nice hole-in-the-wall Thai and Vietnamese restaurant. They definitely do much more take out business than eat in. The vegetable pho that my girlfriend got was one of the best I can ever remember trying. It had the perfect spice level and flavor and tons of vegetables that were all cooked perfectly. I tried the Yum Nua, which is a spicy grilled beef salad with a lime dressing. The beef was absolutely packed with flavor and heat, and it was an excellent dish. We also tried the crab rangoons (I know, seemingly out of place in a Thai and Vietnamese restaurant) and they had the best crab rangoon filling I've ever had. Simply amazing flavors. My only gripe about the rangoons is that they are very small and you only get six. Given the prices and the setting, you might not expect to get this much out of Lady Siam, but it is truly an incredible taste experience.

Review from Deanna D.
Good lunch experience at Lady Siam. We got there around 12:30pm and it was quite in there. The restaurant is small, clean and sparsely decorated. Our waitress was friendly and attentive.
We started with the Crab Rangoon which was tasty--not the best ever but still fresh, crispy and good. I had the Hot Basil with Seafood Lunch Box which was fresh and flavorful dish with the right portion size and a steal for $7.95! The bf had Crispy Pad Thai with Crispy Ckn which he said was flavorful and enjoyable. The honeydew bubble tea was OK- a bit slushy like and no ice cream or milk base which was odd.
Overall a good experience and great value for delicious Thai food. We will be back!Listed in: Great Cheap Eats

My brother knows the chef and I live across the street from the restaurant, so I had no reason not to try it. We end up ordering from there way too much, as the food is inexpensive and excellent. The Pho is the best I've had in Boston - my favorite being the beef ball soup. The Hawaiian fried rice is also a favorite and they do a great Pad Thai, as well as scallion pancake and tempura.
I've also had many other of the Thai items on the menu and they have never disappointed. The beef macadamia nut is so yummy! You can't beat Lady Siam for the value! -

Absolutely delicious and reasonable! My mom, daughter and myself went here. We've been to so many pho restaurants that I think we know pho. I hate it when the broth has a clove taste to it. I was so happy when I tasted this and you could tell it was a real soup from stock!
The staff was super nice and friendly. They didn't make a face or huff and puff when they saw the mess my daughter made. Hey, give her a break, she's only 21 months! But she did love the pho! -

This place gets 5 stars because of the value. It is such great prices for great food.
We love the bubble tea. We love the wait staff. We love the food.

I have eaten here about 4-5 times so far. I keep going back for the bubble tea! Taro and coconut are delicious! Even brought my 2 year old niece here... she wasn't into the food, but loved playing with the wait staff who entertained her throughout the meal. Great service!
The food is really fresh and original. Pineapple fried rice is yum yum. -

Ehhh... when it comes to Asian food, I only trust other Asian's taste.
This place is right downstairs from where I live.. and the parking lot is always packed.. so I decided to stop in. The place is not decorated so well... and the food in my opinion is just mediocre. It's not amazing Thai food.. it's Americanized Thai food.

Love going here for Pho and seafood soup! Great value. Last weekend the place was packed. Love the tea!
We got a tofu app that was okay, but in the future I'll stick to spring and summer rolls.
We always leave here happy, the food agrees with us, the check is the right total and we feel like we've been fed well for a decent price. Excellent value. We have also gotten delivery for dinner that arrived quickly.
Also, the staff is very nice and friendly. And who said something about the decor? WHO CARES! I happen to love all the orchids, glittering butterflies amidst the holiday decorations.
Happy to have Lady Siam nearby. -

I went here mainly because Toraya was closed but was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and the good prices.
I got a green curry box which included a salad, pad thai and some fried appetizers. Everything tasted great though I will ask for more spice in the curry next time I go.
I'm always on the lookout for a good Thai restaurant and this one fits the bill. -

I really like this place. Never been there but I have ordered many times from here. They have decent crab rangoons and gyoza. The pad thai is great, I get it as spicy as possible and they do get that right. The Lady Siam Fried Rice is good as well. I ordered the Pho and they delivered it perfectly! I was impressed because ordering soups through delivery is tricky, but they did well.
I have tried ordering using an online website and they took less than 30 minutes to deliver my food and everything was accurate. I was hesitant because I didn't believe they would get my order and even deliver it, but they showed up with everything. Good delivery service! -

Yelp justifies its worth for directing me to places just like this.
Perfect little diamond in the rough - unassuming storefront in little patch of other unassuming storefronts across from Arlington High. Never would have occasion to be walking by, never would think to stop while driving by, but so very glad we made it down.
Good, plentiful and cheap Thai - I swear my plate of pile high noodles was bottomless, or at least self-refreshing. It took me a good half hour to work my way to the bottom. My country style pad thai was agreeably spicy, a fairly high amount of kick without even having to specially request it. Thanks for that. The Lady Friend had some noodle dish on special - those lovely wide, flat noodles and a pile of veggies and chicken, something like pad kee mao or pad see you, but not mao or you. Me? Me me! We got a nice little appetizer based strictly on the name adjective bestowed on it - "cozy" shrimp. Who doesn't like to be cozy? No one!
This is exactly the place I was looking for when I moved out from Somerville and my two similarly no-frills Thai storefront standbys there. I despaired of ever finding it, but after partially striking out at Tom Yum Koong 2 up the street, my hopes and prayers have been answered. -

Dined in the restaurant on a quiet Thursday night. The room is rather small, like 6-8 tables. It seemed like their takeout business was good because the phone was ringing frequently. We ordered appetizers - gyoza and curry puffs. Both were nothing to rave about. The dumplings were rather tasteless perhaps someone at my table preferred them just boiled instead of panfried as well. The curry puffs were tiny bites lacking in meaty filling. I would not probably order them again.
I did enjoy my hot bowl of noodle soup. Get the seafood tom yum coconut soup. It is big, hearty, and delicious. Not too spicy. Very creamy and filling. It smelled beautiful. -

maybe more like 3.5 stars, but I have high hopes for them and want them to stay open.
The last place here was a CRAP chinese food place, this place has more thai that vietnamese, but does offer both. The prices are average and for delivery they are quick. I wouldn't bother eating in this blah place, plus I am a block away.I will say that the aps are small. You get the usual 5-6 pieces but they are mini! The Gyoza is ok (the dipping sauce is super plain), The crab rangoon have corn in them, which is awesome, but they are really small and have WAY too much wrapper to filling ratio. We also tried the curry puffs and even though they were small, they were the best of the batch! Our curry main dishes were a solid B. I want to try this place again and actually get the vietnamese part of the menu, for Thai I go to Thai Moon. -

Good, fast, and cheap....here at Lady Siam you can have all three!
When the craving for some Vietnamese food and bubble shakes hits me and I don't want to haul all the way into the city this is the perfect stop.
Overall portions are a little bit small, so it's good that it's cheap because you can totally over order and not feel empty in your stomach or your wallet. Decor is nothing fancy, but clean and decorated with amazing orchid plants.
A few items not to miss:
-Lady Siam Rolls, crunchy and sweet
-Curry Puff, little puffs with a spicy punch
-Yellow Curry with your choice of proteins
-Vermicelli Bun is my fav Vietnamese dish with it's rice noodles, mint, peanuts, fish sauce ('nuoc cham') and choice of pork, chicken, or shrimp is a wonderful flavor combo. My advice go for the pork and shrimp. Though my only criticism of this dish here is that it is awfully small.
Finally I round out the meal with a taro smoothie with grass jelly. I don't really know what grass jelly is, but the taro is starchy and sweet and so are the grass jelly bits. If you like sweet, creamy goodness...go for it! -

I happened upon this place because I had a day off and decided to bike over to the sushi place in Arlington Toraya that a friend recommended for very fresh fish. I managed to miss Toraya's lunch by about 10 minutes but Lady Siam's was next door and open. Seeing as it was nearly 3 and I hadn't eaten anything yet the whole day, I opted to give it a shot.
I have a hard time giving middle of the road reviews to places I didn't necessarily have a bad experience in. The place isn't bad by any means, it was just a little average for me. Given, I tried the Tai soup because it was cold and I STAND by Le's Tai. It's very hard to compete. Lady's wasn't awful or anything but it wasn't quite as flavorful as Le's. The portion was great though for the price.
The appetizers are good. I tried the Lady Siam rolls and I must say I liked the size and the dipping sauce. They weren't too greasy either. The Bubble Tea was pretty fantastic. I had the Royal Milk Tea and wasn't expecting it to come as kind of an ice cream like frappe. I just wished it weren't so chilly out today otherwise I might have been able to appreciate it more.
In any given event, I'd say this place is more like a 3.5 but rounded up. I plan to try the Thai food next time. -
Review from Ryan L.

This place seems to do a better job on the thai food than the viet food.
My wife had a vegetable curry which tasted decent and the thai appetizers (wings, spring rolls) were fine as well. However their pho is none too good. The cut of beef was not that great and it looked like they sliced their beef against the grain giving the meat a grainy texture so the meat was none too good. Come here for thai, and "pho-get" about the pho.
