Love this little place. It is a take out place with couple of small tables and chair to sit in case you want to eat inside.
Rotisserie fast food! Lots of great sides with different serving sizes and good price. Even if you are vegetarian, you can make a best dinner with their side dishes.

Sweetest people work there. They also have ribs and chicken wings for parties. I love the chicken with side of Spanish rice and ratatouille.
Must try them

I have yet to find a better restaurant for homestyle and hearty comfort food in the Boston area.  The ribs and chicken are superb and all of the sides are delicious, especially the mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese, and a new chopped spinach in a cheesy alfredo sauce.

Also new are mini chicken pot pies, a thick stew of chunky veggies and chicken topped with a crusty brown dough, excellent.

Chicken noodle soup is the best I can remember, and their wings boast a truly authentic teriyaki marinade.

The new owners truly have a passion for their product and it is evident in the energy and kindness of the staff.  If youre in the mood for a night in with a huge meal and a movie, this place is for you.

Dine well.

My husband and I have been eating here since before we were married.  The mashed potatoes and gravy alone are worth coming back for, but the roast chicken is also excellent.  It's best for take-out, as the seating area is cramped and hot (think ovens).  Afterwards you can hit Rosie's a few stores down.

La Rotisserie is a tiny cubbyhole that is much larger than you'd expect when you walk through the door. It can be claustrophobic to some, but there's enough space to get around. It is a place I stop by after meetings at times on the way home if I don't have time to cook.

Their entrees have been fairly consistent. The chicken there tends to be a bit on the dryer side compared to Boston Market, using seemingly slightly larger birds. I'm finding the white meat too dry for my tastes, preferring the dark. I'm not one for the chicken wings. They've come out with the sauce overpowering their cooking process and the chicken. I more often would pick up an order of the ribs or the roast of the day, which has varied from lamb to pork loin. The lamb in particular has been good, being easy to cut even with plastic and not too 'gamey' for those who avoid such. The ribs are easy to separate and come apart easily with a bit of scraping if you don't want a BBQ sauce mustache.

The mashed potatoes are a little overwhipped for me, so I get the squash instead, normally flavored with a bit of cranberries to give a nice little contrast. Their rice pilaf, flavoured with stock, celery, and mushrooms, is a nice little complement, though deceptively heavy due to the stock. Also a good side dish is their zuccihini/squash summer mix. I don't like the beans as much, as they tend to taste a bit too sugared for me. The tabouli is okay, though I wish there was a bit more lemon to it. The pasta primavera is alright in taste, the vegetables and linguine fine together. I just wish the cream sauce wasn't so watery.

I miss when they had their Wellesley location less than a 10-minute walk from my house when they took over the former Boston Market there. It churns out better quality than the local Boston Market and Roche Brothers for such food. The pricing is comparable to Boston Market. It just seems higher because of the higher end offered for some ingredients, and you get what you pay for, but if you compared similar dishes, they're roughly the same. However, cornbread is separate instead of standard.

Dishes to try: Rice pilaf, butternut squash with cranberries, ribs, whatever the roast-of-the-day is.

Bostn Market and Kenny Rogers kinda ruined these places for me - they felt so processed and fattening, that at once I was both enamored and turned off.  But i did love that they somehow made white meat taste juicier than it typically does.

and that, my friends, is thanks to chemistry, I imagine.

Because this place seems to be a bit more natural.  and therefore my rotisserie chciken sandwich was...dry.  and frankly kinda boring.

but that means it's probably better for me than BM (sic)

This place must be like Harry Potter's Kings Cross Station, where wizards enter a magical place through Platform 9 3/4 and Muggles find it a humdrum place.

I was shopping nearby and hungry for a late lunch.  The menu on the outside seemed decent enough and boasted something like "Chicken made authentically French".  I figured with it in Chestnut Hill and pricey it couldn't be that bad.  Unfortunately it was.

The chicken breast was cooked nicely, juicy.  But the entire piece must have been in the oven a long time because the wing was all shriveled up so there was nothing left to eat but black skin and bone.  I tried some couscous raisin dish which wasn't to my liking but prepared okay.  The vegetable medley was awful.  I always love my broccoli but today all the veggies had been there so long they were just soggy and soft.  I've had better tasting and textured veggies in the hospital.

The atmosphere was not that interesting and my table was sticky.  I would have gotten a much fresher and tastier meal at Boston Market.  Then I come home and read the Yelp reviews, and figure out I must be a Muggle, since some of the reviewers are amazed by the magic of this place.

I think this could be okay. Except... I like gravy & stuffing. Theirs was relatively inedible. I got the Turkey lunch plate, it comes with two sides. I chose mashed potatoes w/ gravy and stuffing with "bread and fruit" (or I think that was how it was described) I also ordered their 95 cent cornbread.

The breakdown:

Turkey, better than Boston Market, huge portion. Moist not all that flavorful, but fairly good.

Mashed Potatoes, like my grandmas. I'd return just for them ... if it wasn't for:

Gravy, the worst gravy I have ever eaten in my life except some Hormel brand monstrosity my bf tried last month. I gave my bf a bite and asked "What's that flavor" (I knew what it was!)... he paused "Something brown?" I said- "Soy sauce" he replied- "YES!" Ew. So bad. If it wasn't soy sauce I don't know what it was but it was awful. Almost as bad as the:

Stuffing: Slimey. Gooey. CINNAMON & RAISIN BREAD STUFFING. Seriously. WTF. That is just wrong not to warn someone about that. It bore no resemblance to any former stuffing. It was the same slimey white bread stuffing that I dislike but could have eaten....... but just with cinnamon and raisin bread. Good thing I had my "dessert" left:

Corn Bread: Best I've ever eaten that wasn't cooked by a loved one. Seriously. Tender. Delicious. Not too cakey a la Boston Market. I maybe sensed a hint of lemon? It was wonderful. I will be returning for more of this, I know. It was the best thing by far.

Maybe this is just French? I don't know. Maybe I just hate french food. Maybe its all soy sauce and cinnamon raisin bread. I really can't say I know. But... it left a bad bad bad impression.

If I chose different sides I think I could have given this place 4 stars. If they only had different gravy. I will probably return for more than just corn bread if only to see if maybe that day someone was feeling wildly creative with the gravy and it was a weird fluke. Good thing it was on the side.

All in all this place is worth a try, but be prepared for some strange flavors if you're new to it and proceed with caution.

The food is delicious, the staff is super friendly and the place is clean.

I work at CVS so I figured I would try this place out- I COULDNT BELIEVE IT!!! I was amazed by the quality of food and the cleanliness of the interior. I would say it is like a high class Boston Market ;)

QUICK AND INEXPENSIVE: Great place for grabbing a quick bite to eat on your way to a movie or a day of shopping at the Chestnut Hill Mall, Atrium Mall or B.C. Football Game!

I really wanted to like this place. It's walking distance from work and looks like its going to provide you with that hearty fattiness you're craving.
So, the food isn't bad, but a combo plate is not worth $10.
Chicken is juicy enough, ribs are tender...but the sides are pretty flavorless, and...ready for this....bitches charge $.95 for cornbread. Psssshh. Whatev.

Really amazing food. You walk in and they have a series of spits with various meats on them and you just wish you could eat them all. The chicken is especially delicious. I usually also get some pulled pork to go which turns into a great meal later. The sides are just as delicious as the main meals- corn, mahsed potatoes etc. all are really good. Not to mention that the guys who work there are always super nice and load me up with tons of food.
Overall, I go here whenever I can. Its like a Boston Market with food and service that goes way beyond that level.

I stopped by here spur of the moment one evening on the way home from work to grab dinner and it turned out to be a good choice! Think of it as a fresher, cleaner, and a tad more diverse local version to Boston Market.

I grabbed a rotisserie chicken and a few sides and it wasn't that expensive relative to other options. There were plenty of sides to choose from and everything was well seasoned and cooked thoroughly.

The one downside was the service. It wasn't too busy at the time when I was there and the woman behind the counter was torn between whether she wanted to pay attention to me or talk to her co-worker at the register. She also had some difficulty with English, but she made sure to take down all of my order.

In the end I recommend this place for a good quality meal you can grab  quickly with little hassle.

I might never go this place unless I have an appointment  of the hospital right next to this restaurant.  So I am glad that I have an opportunity to go there.

Their chicken is very very delicious.  I already miss that.  I am kind a looking forward to making another hospital appointment for Rotisserie chicken.  However sides are not as good as the chicken.

One big warning with this place: come hungry. One of their plate specials to go is really more like 1.5-2 meals, especially with the portions on the sides. And (in general), get the food to go. There's only a few little 2-seater tables in the place and they're right in the flow of traffic.

As for the meat, I only get the roast specials. Their beef roasts tend to be awesome, their lamb roasts tend to be super-double-plus-awesome, the pork roasts (they have the most often) tend to be "ok". I only ask for gravy w/ the pork, for what it's worth.

Ditto on the "stick to the safe sides" recommendations (they add a bit of something to their steamed veggies, maybe some cumin or curry powder that makes them extra yummy), but I'd put a particular vote in for their stuffing. It's faaaaantastic... like a slice of a loaf of pure awesome.

I've been going to this place since Junior high and I'm getting old. It's consistent, the smell is absolutely mouthwatering, and whatever the marinade they use on the chicken is - it's amazing. Some of the sides could use a bit of work, but staples like mashed potatos, ratatouille and the sweet potatos are always good. Go for the breast & rib combo.

The sandwiches are like the sandwiches of the Boston Chicken of y'ore. Chock full of juicy chicken on fresh bread.  The rents love the roast of the day.

The fact that this place is within walking distance of my home add points..but the portions are huge, served hot and tasty.  It's a take off on Boston Market .  Their ribs can range from either dry, to very meaty and juicy.  The sides are excellent, mashed sweet potatos (in additon to reg. mashed) as well as at least two veggie choices.  Their homemade brownies are TDF!!!

This was my staple when I lived in Brookline.  The ribs here are flavorful and fall right off the bone.  The chicken is tender and juicy and the sides here are great.  Can get a bit expensive but worth every penny.  I still make treks down here from Quincy just to get some.

Delicious!!! The chicken is so juicy and tender.. (and fatty I must say haha but that just makes it yummier!!!) and the sides are also just as good. My favorite is the corn sides and the rice... I also love just getting a whole thing of wings.. I have yet to try their ribs & duck, etc... (the duck has to be pre-ordered!) One of my favorite places to get roast chicken.. too bad it's inconviniently far away to get it for dinner (bad traffic around dinner time from where I live)
