Best roast chicken in Metro West
Their roast chicken is always delicious and juicy. Sides are yummy and the staff is very friendly. This is my #1 choice for "comfort food"Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Eva T.Maynard, MA4145428Jan 10, 2016
Every time I head to the container store in chestnut hill or to Rosie's bakery, I always make sure that I stop by La Rotisserie. I've been coming here for years now, and it's just the best place to get comfort food!
Robin and Debbie are simply the best! They are kind, courteous and more importantly, will give you samples of food if you are not familiar with the items. They provide that good ole' home town feeling for your soul while preparing my usual meal (ribs and chicken with rice and mac & cheese).
I've been to other BBQ places, but I gotta say that the ribs are tender and the sauce is perfecto! I tried the pulled pork today, in addition to the soup- omg, I will be back :) Thanks ladies!!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kurt S.Sugar Land, TX3212445Sep 13, 2017
We ordered the lamb plate for takeout. We chose potatoes and Greek salad for our sides. We added a side of rice and spinach. The lamb was a bit dry as expected. Everything tasted good. Good-sized portions. Everything was delicious.

I was recommended this place from a friend, she raved about their apricot chicken. Unfortunately, they didn't have it the day we arrived but we decided to get the other chicken they had which was apple brined. We were there around 6:00 and they didn't even have a whole chicken available. They have all their foods on display behind a sneeze guard and it looked like it had been sitting out untouched for hours. The chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy were good. The stuffing was a little sweet for my taste, but others in my party really enjoyed it. I might come back just to get an apricot chicken to try, but overall, this place didn't wow me. I would recommend getting soup on the other side of the restaurant instead!

I might never go this place unless I have an appointment of the hospital right next to this restaurant. So I am glad that I have an opportunity to go there.
Their chicken is very very delicious. I already miss that. I am kind a looking forward to making another hospital appointment for Rotisserie chicken. However sides are not as good as the chicken.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Apr 9, 2009
I think this could be okay. Except... I like gravy & stuffing. Theirs was relatively inedible. I got the Turkey lunch plate, it comes with two sides. I chose mashed potatoes w/ gravy and stuffing with "bread and fruit" (or I think that was how it was described) I also ordered their 95 cent cornbread.
The breakdown:
Turkey, better than Boston Market, huge portion. Moist not all that flavorful, but fairly good.
Mashed Potatoes, like my grandmas. I'd return just for them ... if it wasn't for:
Gravy, the worst gravy I have ever eaten in my life except some Hormel brand monstrosity my bf tried last month. I gave my bf a bite and asked "What's that flavor" (I knew what it was!)... he paused "Something brown?" I said- "Soy sauce" he replied- "YES!" Ew. So bad. If it wasn't soy sauce I don't know what it was but it was awful. Almost as bad as the:
Stuffing: Slimey. Gooey. CINNAMON & RAISIN BREAD STUFFING. Seriously. WTF. That is just wrong not to warn someone about that. It bore no resemblance to any former stuffing. It was the same slimey white bread stuffing that I dislike but could have eaten....... but just with cinnamon and raisin bread. Good thing I had my "dessert" left:
Corn Bread: Best I've ever eaten that wasn't cooked by a loved one. Seriously. Tender. Delicious. Not too cakey a la Boston Market. I maybe sensed a hint of lemon? It was wonderful. I will be returning for more of this, I know. It was the best thing by far.
Maybe this is just French? I don't know. Maybe I just hate french food. Maybe its all soy sauce and cinnamon raisin bread. I really can't say I know. But... it left a bad bad bad impression.
If I chose different sides I think I could have given this place 4 stars. If they only had different gravy. I will probably return for more than just corn bread if only to see if maybe that day someone was feeling wildly creative with the gravy and it was a weird fluke. Good thing it was on the side.
All in all this place is worth a try, but be prepared for some strange flavors if you're new to it and proceed with caution.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kyle H.Fort Lauderdale, FL46721Jan 17, 2016Updated review
This restaurant is good but I have NO CLUE how they stay in business... The food is ridiculously expensive and its nothing special. I know that I am a person who hates when someone gives bad reviews to a restaurant wen the food is good because to me that is all I care about in a restaurant but this place breaks that rule for me.
I ordered a combo plate with 1 sode and without tax my meal was OVER 20$. Now i am not cheap but i should not be paying 25$ for lunch at a take out placeHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Jul 3, 2014Previous reviewJust went here for a quick lunch and the food was AMAZING. I work at a bbq restaurant as a cook and the food at la rotesserie completely blew me away. I got the Chicken and Rib combo which came with about 4-5 perfectly cooked chicken wings and 2 incredible pork ribs. The bbq sauce they use is amazing. For sides I got corn bread and roasted potatoes. The potatoes were good and i had previously known that the corn bread was amazing here but i guess there was a mix up and they had cinnamon cornbread which was also very good. The food was alittle expensive but overall very worth a try.

I don't know if this place changed hands, but if it did ,beware so bad. When you order a roast beef sandwich on a baguet, you expect to be able to chew it.Half inch thick roast beef with thick globs of fat and grissle.I had to spit it out as i gagged. My wife ordered pulled pork sandwich,it didn't look or taste like pulled pork.I don't know if this place has changed hands or what ,it's all bad news , I used to love this place once I wouldn't give this food to my dog.Folks once I used to enjoy the food here. Now it's very bad and I don't know what happened.Save your money, don't go here.

I was excited about this place because I generally like rotisserie foods and it smells really good and looks inviting when you walk by. I've been here a few times and have been pretty unsatisfied. The pulled pork sandwiches are good, but that is about it. Everything seems to suffer from a lack of seasoning. The mac and cheese is bland, the spinach is bland, and the rice is bland. Most egregious, the chicken is bland. I stop in for a pulled pork sometimes, and maybe I will try another type of meat. However, this place is a little too expensive for the risk.
I found the service friendly enough. The restaurant is small, but they have outdoor seating when the weather is nice.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Adrienne T.Atlanta, GA144822121Sep 22, 2010
Easy review:
This place is an "upscale" Boston Market, at about 3 times the cost, with approximately 3 indoor seating tables.
Period. The End.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0
