We stopped in after driving over 700 miles, hoping for a vacancy to get some rest and a shower for the drive the following day. We were greeted by Cici with smiles and friendly conversation and she told us they had several rooms available. My husband was having some congestion and ear pain and she gave us a suggestion that really helped! I wanted to thank her for her kindness and great service but we had to leave early in the morning. Thank you LaQuinta for a great stay and thank you Cici for your help!

Best stop in Tucumcari New Mexico
Front desk staff excellent walked in without a reservation At 3:30 and she said no problem we have room at the Inn! Room is clean, roomy, with office desk, fridge, microwave, sofa bed, (didn't need it it) a King bed with very comfortable sheets and mattress kinda of high in the air but Lots of places to grab a bite all around and best is our trained 100 pound Belgium Malinoux pup! Dog run with artificial grass and bags next to our room...paid $140.00 for security, cleanliness, peace of mind. Breakfast 6:00am FULL breakfast bar and coffee bar (in front of entrance to go) eggs, 3 cereals Honey nut Cheerios, corn flakes, fruit loops, sausages, 2 types of yogurt, OJ, apples, bagels etc..Lots of dogs as we walk by the rooms we hear tons of barking in the hallway from the rooms but this most likely due to anxious nervous dogs poor things but it's fine the dog owners are respectful and responsible as far as we know....no issues with pets.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rayna N.Sonora, CA681523Jul 6, 2023

What stops this from being a 5 star review? Crappy wi-fi. Been here 3 hours, constantly getting kicked out.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Sep 16, 2014Previous reviewI'm updating my rating to four stars from two. After communication with the corporate office, my problem was appropriately addressed. Thank you, La Quinta.
Sep 5, 2014Previous reviewDon't get me wrong - this is a decent hotel. However, they need to stand by what they promise. My reservation confirmation said I would get a King room with a fridge and microwave. What I got was 1 for 3, the king bed. When I asked about the fridge (didn't care about the microwave), I was told they were in the process of upgrading the rooms and only the rooms with 2 queens had appliances. The desk guy offered to put stuff in the fridge for us, but it was medication we didn't want to let go of, especially in consideration of a shift change and our planned early departure.
Very disappointing. Will have to look for a new hotel on the way bac - Apr 27, 2021
Stopped here for a night after a long drive. This is located right off I40. So no need to drive too far off course. The lobby was clean. As well as my room. The hotel itself is in need of a remodel. But overall is decent.
My room was 224. Located on the 2nd floor. It may be the pet friendly floor considering there were a couple other rooms on that floor that had dogs. The room itself had laminate flooring which was great considering we had dogs. All the other hotels I've been in always had carpet. Which left the room with an odd odor.
FREE BREAKFAST was served in the morning from 6am-9am. It is a take and go. No dine in.
They had the normal eggs. Sausage. Cereal. Yogurt etc. there is an employee that fixes up a plate for you you just gotta let them know what you want.
At one end of the hotel there is a potty area for the dogs which is just an artificial turf area. If you're not a fan of that there is an open desert area close enough for the fur babies to do their business. I do recommend this place. Will definitely stay here again in the future.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kim L.Rancho Cucamonga, CA22311Nov 4, 2022

If you're like me (a girl traveling alone cross country for the first time) and looking for a safe stay in New Mexico, BOOK HERE!
I'm SO happy with my night here - safe area, friendly staff, nice room. Deducted one star for jank ass shower. The head detaches from the wall and the angle soaked my whole floor. Yes walls are thin - I was on the phone at around 8 PM and my neighbor banged on my wall. Not so bothered by the thin walls as I was about my neighbor knocking on it. That's hotel life homie! Put in some earplugs and deal with it. We're all tired.
But besides that it was great!
SO awesome too if you're traveling with a pet, they don't even charge a pet fee. There's a little patch next to the hotel too for the dogs. Mine does not play well with others so we would walk around the empty lot next door, also mega convenient even if we were maybe not allowed in there.
Also they don't discriminate against bully breeds. The staff was very nice to my little pit.
Lots of food nearby / others hotels. Really well traveled.
Next time I travel through NM, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
