Friendly front desk. We booked a pet friendly room.

AC smells very moldy, making the whole room smell of must/mold. A/C is either on or off so it gets really cold. Once shut off, the whole room starts to smell like the carpets have been repeatedly peed on by pets and not properly cleaned; the stench was strong. This was supposed to be one of their newly renovated rooms. The room was clean otherwise. The 1 star goes to this really being on par with a $60 per night hotel but not better in any way. Definitely not worth the $120.

The breakfast eggs were stale and potatoes not all the way cooked.

I found the place to be just what I needed after a long day of sightseeing in Houston. The property makes you feel at home with it's amazing decorations and comfortable, clean beds. Great customer service and breakfast as well! I even got to meet the owners who told me that this is actually a green hotel and they're very friendly people! Highly recommended!

Hotel is located not in the greatest looking places.. however, the hotel was absolutely amazing in the inside. I had gotten a 1 king bed room, and it was great! Very clean, bathroom is nice and spacious, and the room too! Great service, late check out time. Extremely quiet. Complimentary breakfast! For sure recommend any one that is in the southern part of Houston / Pasadena area to stay.

The pool and pool area were filthy. We had hoped to bring the grandkids there to swim to celebrate Mother's Day, but couldn't because it was so disgusting. We arrived on Thursday. The garbage can by the pool was overflowing. I had asked the girl behind the desk and also housekeeping if they could please clean the pool area up and empty the garbage can by the pool, and I was told by both, "That person isn't working today". I asked every day we were there and was told that same thing each time I asked. So, the pool, pool area, and garbage can just got worse each day. There was food in the pool and on the pool deck, empty 6 pack rings floating in the pool along with paper garbage. The garbage can was overflowing and the wind was blowing the garbage all over the grass and into the field next to the hotel. Someone also tossed a bunch of fruit (from sangria?) behind the garbage can. It looked horrible. There was also a towel shortage. The only "towel" available was a bath mat. I was told that nobody had done the wash yet. It was a very loud location too. Sam Houston Freeway is right by the hotel. The hotel room wasn't the cleanest. Dust and dirt were all along the perimeter of the room. It could've been cleaned a lot better. Stains on the carpet, chair and couch.

Staff is very friendly, and it is obvious they take pride in their service. I stayed here during the week and nearly all rooms were occupied. Walls were very thin as I could hear the tv of the person next to me, but it didn't keep me awake at night. Even being so close to the freeway, I didn't hear any traffic noises during the night. Breakfast is very simple, nothing spectacular.

My room looked nice at first glance, but as I turned down the covers, there was a big black hair on the sheets. I cringed, threw it away, and tried to forget about it. Then I noticed the common areas were really run down, with stains on the carpet and really banged up wood trim by the elevators. The first morning of my stay, I got out of the shower and went to blow dry my hair and the blow dryer didn't work. I called the front desk, and the clerk told me that she didn't have another blow dryer and that maintenance wasn't available. She literally said, "There's nothing I can do to help you." I said, "You have to help! I have to dry my hair and get to work!" She told me housekeeping didn't come in until 9:00, but I had to be at work at 9:00. I asked her if there was a vacant room available so I could use the blow dryer, and there was. But I had to get dressed, go down to the front desk to get the key, and go to the other room to dry my hair. What a hassle. She promised me the dryer would be repaired that day while I was at work. When I got off work, the first thing I did was check the blow dryer, and yes, you guessed it, it still didn't work. I again called the front desk. This time I spoke to a guy, and he told me there wasn't anything he could do and that maintenance doesn't work on the weekends. I asked him if they had any spare blow dryers and he said he didn't know where they kept them or if they even had any. He asked me if I wanted to use a different room the next morning to dry my hair, and I said, "Rather than having to do that, since it was a pretty big hassle, can't I just move to a different room tonight?" He said that they were overbooked and didn't have another room. I asked him how I would be able to use a different room in the morning if they didn't have a different room that night. He said something about a "maintenance room" that they aren't allowed to rent out. He also told me, "There's really nothing I can do to help." The apathy is what really made me angry. No ability to help, no apologies, nothing. This is the hospitality industry, but there is no hospitality here! I went to Target and had to spend $32.00 on a blow dryer that I really don't need (except for tomorrow morning). I was scheduled to stay here again next weekend when I'm in town again for work, but I have CANCELLED my reservation. I won't stay here again, and I won't stay at any LaQuinta again. They need to train their employees to CARE and to HELP guests.

First time staying in this La Quinta and overall I was very pleased. Most importantly the room was clean, and updated and overall good condition. I did take issue with the fact there were exposed wires on one of the outlets, not sure how this is missed by housekeeping or maintenance but somehow they did. The front desk staff was friendly during check in, but did not say a word otherwise when I passed by them or checked out, a bit disappointing. I also would have like to have had a luggage rack in my room, would have provided a place for me set my suitcase. On a small note, there is a need for a painting or decoration on the right wall in the lobby, there is a giant white vacancy that needs to be filled. Since its convenient to my Houston office I would consider staying here again.
