So ... 5 stars? Yes, let me explain.
We travel all over (lifetime Marriott Titanium ) ... but when we travel with doggy life can get complicated. When we are on a long car trip we want something easy that checks the "road trip" boxes.
Enter the La Quinta - it is what it is, I knew that when I booked it, and it delivers for our one night stop over.
* very Dog friendly,
* competitive rate w pet, for us about $100 including tax on BringFido.com.
* check in easy and friendly staff
* hot continental breakfast included
* Cracker Barrel is directly next door and is walkable. They sells salads, grilled chicken and beer $10- 6 packs = quick and easy to order on line and walk over.
* so close to 81 freeway
Don't get me wrong, there are a few items that are very rough around the edges here, but for a one nighter on a long road trip La Quinta Kingsport is a hit all the boxes.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nancy M.Lexington, SC354Oct 23, 2023
Roaches in rooms, maid entered room with do not disturb sign out, coffee maker looked like someone had spit in it, and another vehicle hit my car right outside the front door and left, but cameras didn't work so unable to determine who it was. Staff was new and didn't know how to navigate the situation and management was unwilling and disinterested in helping. Overall, I would give this place a 0 stars if I could.

Hey these rooms are the nicest ones by far , I stay there for work all the time and if I could leave 7 stars I would. Garth is one of the front desk supervisors that went above and beyond to take care of me. I dropped my engagement ring and Garth went crazy helping me find it. And he went as far as keeping my hopes up and we found it. I am so satisfied with this hotel and I wouldn't recommend any other place to stay. 7 stars

Needed a dog friendly hotel during our road trip west. The property does not charge for pets & it happened to be where our first stop on the trip would be. Staff called ahead of time to ensure we had a pet so a pet friendly room would be available upon arrival.
No issues upon checking in. However no details were provided about the hotel/room.
Once we got to the room, the smell kicked in. It smelt like an animal shelter in the room. We had to buy Febreeze to control the smell in the room. The balcony was not cleaned as it was filled with trash and animal treats. Did not want to walk barefoot in the room. The positives were that it had a microwave, mini fridge & coffee maker.
We went to dinner and received a phone call saying there was an issue with the credit card I used for payment. When we returned, our key card was deactivated. I went downstairs to address the situation. "Oh great, we've been trying to get a hold of you all day". False. I mentioned to the person working the front desk I've received two calls. One earlier about the pet friendly room. The second about the card issue. I wouldn't classify that as trying to get a hold of me all day. She insisted they've been trying all day. However at check-in, no mention. When I came downstairs for spoons shortly after, no mention. When we left to get dinner, no mention. Called the card company to notify them of the situation. Upon finishing that call, called the front desk of the hotel. Phone just rang and rang for 3 minutes. Hung up to call back again. Again just rang and rang. This time I let it ring for 5 minutes. No answer. Went to sleep to resolve in the morning due to being tired from driving all day.
Continental breakfast was served 5-9am.
IMO the hotel is overpriced for what you could get at another hotel with equal value.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Janet C.Winchester, VA11Jan 18, 2023
Filthy bathroom walls and tub. Dark stains ( chocolate, coffee, blood?) on underside of top coverlet. Found sewing needle in room. AC/ Heat unit not working properly.

This place was terrible. Room had a marginal a/c unit which we did realize until too late - place filled and there were no alternative rooms
Room smelled as well
Wife overheard the cleaning staff being astonished that there wasn't proper cleaning equipment and supplies.
Stay away!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tim W.Carlsbad, CA177210Feb 6, 2022
Hopefully they can reset their ratings after the construction. That said...during the construction and at the present state of this hotel you are better off staying at Best Western or motel. Probably from the construction, common areas of the hotel are dirty everywhere. We had to change rooms due to sheets that had marks that could be from shoes or maybe just an old laundry machine? Maybe they gave us the crappy room because we had a dog? The nice man at the night desk accommodated us very quickly! So hey...they're trying. I still have to keep the review accurate and this location makes La Quintas look bad. 2 stars. Oh...and they are only giving out breakfast bags. 1 bagel. 2 muffins. 1 yogurt.

It is a nice hotel and the location. The Cracker Barrel next door sure is convenient. However, it was concerning to me that our room had not been cleaned thoroughly before we checked in. There were the leftovers of a previous tenant in the refrigerator. Later, when we were getting ready to check out, I found a sock over by the desk. We brought this to the attention of the lady at the front desk staff who seemed totally unconcerned. She made some inane comment about the world being so bad she wouldn't be bringing kids into it. Soon after we arrived home from our trip, we both tested positive and got sick with COVID. I'm not saying we got it from staying at this hotel, but this is our first time to encounter a room in this condition.

We were forced to stay here due to our plane being delayed by a day. It was difficult to Check in seemed like no one knew what they were doing. The hotel smells, there's stains all over the floor, they only gave us shampoo no body wash or conditioner, the toilet wouldn't flush the "fixed" it then the next time it didn't work. We had to manually put water in it to make it flush and the bathroom door doesn't even look. Would suggest staying here.
