Q:
Does anyone know if they have set hours for lunch? Everytime I have gone, they are closed?
A:
They are a small family run operation. Some days they do open a little later than intended, but they definitely are open for lunch because I've eaten lunch there many times.

Got the enchiladas mole. The sauce on top is sweet and spicy, with CHOCOLATE!! Eating while I write this review... it's good. The more I eat it though, the stronger the sauce flavor gets. I would have added more chocolate but that's me haha. The surfer was sweet. She was the only one but I get that, we showed up 45 min before closing time, party of 4. You get a large amount of food the $$ you spend. Is it nap time yet. I'm full

First time here and I've heard many good things. First off, the service was excellent. The salsa has a sweetness to it that I really enjoyed. I ordered the tamales dinner with a chicken tamale (green sauce), and a pork tamale (red sauce), Christmas in May for you Chile heads!
HOLY COW! Most amazing tamales ever! They are fluffy pillows of corney goodness.
The red and green sauces were a great accent to the amazing tamales.
If you enjoy tamales, this is the place for you!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jen P.Nicholasville, KY01Nov 26, 2022

The food? Bland. The service? Not good. The ambiance? Meh. I'm struggling to find something to like here.
First, they bring you a small bowl of chips with salsa. I had four people in my party, so they went quick. Like a couple minutes quick. But, you're thinking they're gonna bring more soon, right? Just like every other Mexican restaurant on the face of the planet. But you wait. And wait. And they never do. Never seen anything like it.
Refills? They say they're free but I think that's because they don't give them. Here's the math. Party of four, zero refills. That's bad math.
I ordered the steak Fajita Quesadillas. One bite into those and you know you have immediate regrets. No flavor. Massive chunks of green pepper and onion. I'm sitting there wondering if they ran out of knives. I mean, cut those ingredients up a little. It's like you're not even trying. But the flavor is the real disappointment. Like eating air. Nothing. It was better when I dipped it into the salsa. I was able to salvage it. Heck, they ain't gonna bring you any more chips for that salsa anyway, so might as well put it to work.
But here's the thing that really gets me. This party of two behind me. Sitting there. Drinking margaritas. Everything's cool. The waitress starts pressing them to order food because, according to her, it's a Friday night and she needs the table.
I get that you're running a business. I get that you can't have people sitting there shooting the bull and not buying anything. But margaritas ain't cheap. They're drinking one after the other. They can sit there as long as they want, in my opinion. So here I am angry for two people I don't even know. Bizarre in that joint. The whole experience was.
Maybe I should try it again. But I'm not going to. Burn me once...you know the phrase. Two thumbs down. Way down.Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jay D.Lexington, KY065Nov 8, 2022Updated review
They are closed, and sign is gone. Apparently out of business, which was predictable.
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 8, 2021Previous reviewI live VERY nearby in a nice neighborhood, therefore drive by there frequently. They are almost never OPEN!
What is up with that? Their hours show as 11:30 -8pm EVERY day, yet you drive by and 4 out of 5 times the place is dark and the "open" sign is off.
HOW do you stay in business that way?Jan 16, 2021Previous reviewI just called and asked price of Fajita Nachos. You put me on hold and then hung up on me. I have called back TWICE and you won't answer the phone... no wonder you have such terrible reviews on-line!

Excellent authentic salsa and chips.
Sis had the best fajitas she says she has ever had, and I had delicious chicken soup.
The waitress was super nice. The establishment was nicely decorated and they serve drinks too!
They were out of flan so we split a gigantic piece of chocolate cake with ice cream. It was a three layer cake with plenty of icing. It tasted homemade. Delish!

We just moved from AZ to KY so we've been spoiled with amazing authentic Mexican food. We tried this place out last night and it was so good. We care about the quality and seasoning of the meats and their chicken was perfect. Good sized portions. Good quality meat and cooked just perfectly. We tried the chicken tacos last night and we can't wait to go back and try the chilaquiles for breakfast. I highly recommend them. During covid restrictions they are open for carry out and possibly delivers through an app like DoorDash but I'm not positive about that. You can even pick up margaritas and beer! I want to spread the word to support this local business during the pandemic because I would be so sad to see our city depleted of its cute family owned restaurants come 2021
The staff was very friendly and accommodating of my order.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Robert C.Fort Mill, SC18843130May 3, 2018
Double check the address with google before you go!
Once you arrive don't expect much. Looks a little gimmicky but give it a chance. The tacos are AUTHENTIC AND AMAZING!!!! The tomatillo salsa is very warm but the flavor is great. Do yourself a favor and order some. I wanted to try the tamales but was too full. We ordered to go so understand the pics I post aren't the best.
IF YOUR LOOKING FOR AUTHENTIC CORN TACOS GO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
