Wow, I am blown away with the quality of the Fruit Tarts, muffins, pastries and cakes.
I did get a loaf of spurt bread and could not believe how tasty it was. I can't wait to go back and get more of their bread.
This ranks at the top of the best bakeries in the East Bay.
I will post photos next time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sara S.San Francisco, CA934811661Jan 27, 2024
This place was all right.
Their brioche is pretty close to a real french version though not as fresh.
Bread is good.
Some pastries looked quite disappointing and Didnt look french at all
They had good looking cakes
Staff was really not very friendly - maybe because it was the morning and they were ready to go home but yeah a smile goes a long way ladies and when you get tipped for no reason to encourage you maybe say thanks hahaHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 30, 2023
Slice of pumpkin cheesecake 4.95
Small coffee 2.95
Whole fruit tart $27
Initially, I went to La Farine to buy a cake. I saw the slice of pumpkin cheesecake. I've been craving for it since Thanksgiving. The the pumpkin filling was just right. The crust had a crunch and was sweet but it works because the filling isn't sweet. I think Costco's version was way better. Next time, I'll try the chocolate one.
Coffee was coffee. It's a regular cup of Joe.
The fruit tart was delicious. They had pies with different variations of designs with berries, mango, kiwi and grapes. I chose the one with an outer rim of mango. The fruit was fresh. The cream had a good balance of tart and sweetness. Perfecto!
I want to get one for New Years.
The space is quaint. A few tables and some seating. It's a nice place to read or write.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jan 27, 20241 check-in
A beautiful bakery with so many amazing options. I highly recommend the morning buns and the cakes. Beautiful works of art that taste as good as they look.

Love everything at this bakery and try not to go too often to watch the waistline. Lol. The staff are friendly and helpful. I was looking for something with almonds and the lady was helpful in helping me select an almond croissant and consider some other options. Great place to pick up any desserts or baked goods. Clean and convenient location on Piedmont Ave.

Been here 2x in the past 2 weeks. I was looking for
a good scone. Instead I decided to get a variety of other things just to give it try.
The chocolate scone with icing is good, orange current scone is good. Cheese bread and the eclair is super good. The morning bun the sweet sugary on is good but small, the savory one is excellent. Their tart is another excellent choice, great colors with the different fruits.
Service, last week, it was odd, 1 cashier but not sure if she was new, just very confused. This weekend, 3 cashiers and everyone wanted to help. Kind of loud and could be because there was a lot of people. I just want to enjoy a little quiet when I am trying to order.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 2498355May 26, 2023
Found this place when we were walking around and I have always wanted to try some French bakery or pastry on the East Bay.
This place was pretty busy when we entered but it took us less than 10 mins to get our order.
I love the chocolate eclairs here, cream was so good. Reminds me of the eclairs in my hometown. I also got a croissant, tastes good too.
They serve a good variety of pastries here, I love the settings too. if they have canele that would be even better!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Fabio R.PA, PA03Apr 6, 2024
Very disappointed in the Pecan Butter Rum torte. While visiting from out of town we found La Farine in Piedmont and thought "a French torte would be the perfect desert to bring to a small dinner party." At nearly $30 I figured it had to be good. Sadly I couldn't have been more wrong. This pecan torte had virtually zero flavor... the most bland, unimpressively tasteless baked good I have ever had! Even our local family members, (all of whom had baked goods from La Farine in the past) were very disappointed. I should've saved my money and bought a pie from the grocery store.
To make matters worse, every person at the table is a "foodie" who has eaten at some of the finest bakeries in NY, France and Italy. The torte I brought became the joke of the night. How embarrassing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
