Probably best if I just tell the story of how I stumbled upon the place. There is a county park across the street from the restaurant called Minsi Lake; a great place for fishing, boating, hiking. Long story short, I'm on the lake with two others fishing for trout......after a fun morning we decide we want to stay, but are getting hungry. Choice 1) drive to get food, choice 2) try the little diner / cafe across the street. Low and behold....technology in the middle of the lake, we a cell phone with internet access to look up the phone number.
As we call...we quickly realize that the "old cafe" that was there a year ago has changed into a rather nice, casual Italian restaurant. Panini, subs, entrees ($10-$20 range), appetizers, etc. Since we (didn't have a menu in front of us (were all smelling of fish), we kept it simple and ordered a few subs for takeout (Meatball Parm, Italian, & Chicken Cheesesteak loaded up).
A quick boat pullover and run across the street.....we were catching trout and perch while sinking our teeth into something 10 times better than something frozen in a freezer 30 minutes before and microwaved. The prices were pretty fair too......$6ish for a stuffed footlong. Bread was nice and super-soft.
To be fair...this opinion is based on one, take-out visit. Inside it looked casual, but decorated nicely with tablecloths and new furniture....but I can assure you....there is no need to take a lunch anymore to Minsi......not when this hidden gem is across the street ready to satisfy your pizza / sub craving.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Erica T.Pen Argyl, PA6489772Mar 31, 2011
I go to Lake Minsi A LOT, cause I'm a local and I frequented La Campagna Country several times, but I gotta tell ya I usually don't buy food here I buy BAIT, yes BAIT. Out back you ring the bell and you can buy anything from bloodworms to shiners to power bait and tackle.
The food is tasty, good prices. Hoagies, Pizza, Pasta. Pizza is not bad considering the other pizza options in the Slate Belt are horrendous!
The atmosphere is very 'country' and I love the option to eat outside especially with their amazing view of the lakeHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kate B.Delaware Water Gap, PA12232Jun 5, 2011
We have never had one thing here that disappointed us! Plus, we've never had the same thing twice. The food here is DELICIOUS. The "Chef's Specialties" are the best on the menu. Service is fantastic. B.Y.O.B. which is great too - always fun to enjoy a glass of your favorite wine with some great Italian food.
The portions are also quite generous, and we always wind up bringing food home with us!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lisa S.BEECHHURST, NY139Aug 6, 2012
Visited yesterday although it was no long LA CAMPAGNA....it was good! We are from NY and my husband ordered a small pie and ate the entire thing! He loves his pizza and is not afraid to NOT eat if he does not like it !! A+ Mom ordered chili with fresh soft, warm bread and a personal pizza...she liked them both...not easy to please her!! Dad had a pizza burger and was pleased. We ordered a kids meal for the little one and it was brought to the table with chicken fingers was cut in half to cool off.....very very considerate!!
Family owned business which always is the best! No one works you harder than family!! ALSO...they had high chairs, booster seats, coloring books and crayons for the little one!! LOVE FAMILY FRIENDLY PLACES!!
Service was very good and $$ very good also!!
WILL BE BACK AGAIN!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jeff S.Bangor, PA261Mar 24, 2010First to Review
Decent food and decent prices. Maybe a little too fancy for the area but they seem to be doing good. Also, they deliver which is rare out here! Byob.

I've been a customer of this out of the way gem for over 20 years. Even under the previous ownership, the food was always quite good, and the prices very reasonable.
With the new ownership, the prices are a bit higher on some items, but the menu has some new dishes that are excellent, and the value for dollar for the majority of their offerings is well above average. I order delivery from them on an average of twice a month, and I will continue to be a loyal customer.
It's well worth your while to head out to Lake Minsi to check out La Campagna, even if you're not interested in the lake.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mike P.Bangor, PA3239May 7, 2010
This place is under new ownership and the food (Italian & pizza) is really good especially considering the location (well off beaten path). We've eaten here twice so far and not disappointed at all. Very reasonably priced plus consistent food. What more can you ask for, oh yeah tablecloths and linen napkins!
