Authentic Indian food in Missouri?? Better believe it. 10/10, give it a try!
Chicken was a little dry though.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Dec 30, 2023
I'm gonna say up front I have been spoiled for Indian cuisine.
We ordered the dinner for two, and while it wasn't awful, I have some notes; First off we ordered it medium cause not everybody like spicy like I do so I won't harp on that except to say we know they make it on the "America hot" scale so their medium on the chicken marsala was ... sweet, and that's weird. The fish had very little taste, and I mean, it didn't even taste like fish, which is also weird. Overall, the food was lack-luster, and this is me admitting that I have been spoiled for Indian food.
The service was good (didn't have to wait too long for refills and such), and the ambiance is casual, which is fine.
Overall, it's not a bad place if you haven't had Indian food before, but if you have to make sure you tell them not "American spicy" as I feel like that would have saved every dish. I'm giving it three stars cause it wasn't awful, but I don't plan to visit again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 4166461603Aug 16, 2023Updated review
Our family absolutely loves Seva. The lunch buffet is a great way to come. Try a little bit of everything if you've never experienced it. That is what we did so now we know what to order when we come visit the store or do carry out online or over the phone.
The staff here is super friendly and helpful with any questions you may have.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0Jul 29, 2022Previous reviewCongratulations Seva on your Top 25 places to eat in Kansas City,! You're a family favorite.
We enjoy coming for your buffet at lunchtime. And love that you offer curbside ordering and takeout as an option too.Apr 25, 2020Previous reviewSeva is one of the best places to enjoy a taste of India right here in KC.
We order the Chicken Tandoori Legs and Breast, Vegetable Pakora, Basmati rice, Gluten free Roti and Raita. This feeds our family of 5 very well.
We placed a online order that my husband picked up. They included a free mango drink that was delicious.
Almost everything on the menu can be made gluten free which is wonderful for our family that has some food restrictions.
Very friendly and great customer service!
Their lunch buffet is one of the best around town! Check it out sometime, you won't be disappointed. - Oct 9, 2023
I came here for lunch today with some lady friends. A friendly woman that worked there greeted us. Very cute place that has awesome artwork painted on their walls. I ordered chicken masala. It comes with basmati rice. The waitress asks if you want mild medium or hot concerning the spicy level. I ordered the medium. The food came out very fast and was very tasty. Just the right amount of heat. They have a hot chai station that you can get free. Love that. If I'm in the area again, I will definitely come back.

We loved the buffet on a Saturday afternoon. A great range of meat and veggie dishes and the chai and mango lassi on the buffet are a nice touch. All staff we encountered were super friendly and the servers often brought around bread and dishes before adding them to the buffet. Nice decor and very clean. We will be back!

I visited Seva at 1pm on Monday afternoon, After having visited many times before. The buffet is gone, except on Saturdays and Sundays-- With the weekday lunch having its own special menu. I had butter chicken, medium spice, garlic naan, and a mango lassi. Hot chai tea is complementary. The tastes are just as excellent as before, with portion sizes more conservative for lunch. The service here is consistently friendlier than many other Indian places in the metro.
Seva continues to be my top recommendation for Indian in Kansas City, despite the lack of buffet and limited lunchtime menu. An added star because Seva is worth the drive across town.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Hillary S.Kansas City, MO126497Sep 22, 2023
Super underwhelming unfortunately. I had heard good things so I was really excited.
Pakoras were great.
Rice was absolutely disgusting. Tasted very old.
Channa masala has a very odd taste.
Spinach needed way more paneer and looked watery.
Veggie korma was decent.
Butter chicken and tandoori chicken was decent.
Raita was delicious.
Chai and mango lassi were yummy and a nice touch that they were included in lunch.
Definitely would not go out of my way to come again.
Oh btw it was about $20 for the buffet.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - A M.Friendswood, TX131472Mar 26, 2024
The food was okay- it wasn't remarkable but it wasn't awful. I've had some amazing Indian food before, and this just wasn't it. The vindaloo was okay. The naan is amazing though- it's perfectly cooked. And the mango smoothie is amazing- it's like drinking liquid yogurt. I would go back for select menu items but not a full meal again.
