Recieved an order missing an item and with two substitute desserts, including the creme Brule listed on their menu. When I contacted them, I was given a refund for the missing item and then told they were out of one dessert and no longer served Creme Brule, so they sent what they sent. I... don't care for baklava, and it's nearly half the price of the creme Brule I was charged for. I had to call a second time to get a price adjustment to be charged for what I got, although it's still not what I ordered and still a waste of money.
Call people if you're going to substitute an item so they have the opportunity to just cancel that item. And take creme Brule off your listing if you don't serve it.
Awful service. Worse communication.
The chicken Parm was decent, but I've got this bad taste in my mouth from feeling like money was taken from me...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Patrick B.Providence, RI133191Mar 26, 2024
A nice, greasy pizza place (in the best way). Absolutely love it. Boston style pizza with ample toppings.

GUYS STOP HALF ARSING THE FOOD AND SERVICE. Ok the FOOD MORE SO. So I decided to eat in for the first time in forever. I usually do take out which I never have a problem. But sat in and wondered how their calamari was: a bunch of fried calamari rings and banana peppers thrown together and call it a day type of presentation was what I got and a side of marinara. Fine. I'm not picky so I munched them up bc I didn't feel like wasting them. The girl behind the bar made my drink really good so that made up for it. In fact I drank more than I ate there...smh. I also ordered an eggplant parm grinder. Usually that thing is smothered with cheese and sauce but when it came out for my dine in, I hardly saw any cheese and the sauce was just laid out across-barely. I mean I coulda asked for more sauce and cheese, but I felt like I didn't have to since every time I get it to go it's always sufficiently covered with cheese and sauce! Idk just order how you want at this place I guess. Can't rely on the bare minimum of service.

We would go there often when our kids were younger, and my husband likes to sit at the bar and have a beer, ETC.
We visited this week ordered a couple of beers and the calamari. There were exactly 12 calamari rings and a plateful of banana peppers. I mentioned this to the bartender and was given some vague answer. Plus, they had a odd taste and smell. I wouldn't go back, there are so many places on the ES to choose from. It was fairly good ten years ago.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Sep 21, 2012Previous reviewJust Ok and it depends on what night, our last visit was inthe bar and the bartender spent more time on the her phone and talking with the cute customers than waiting on my husband and I. Food is mediocre, but in a pinch, the East side is missing more family style resturants..
Aug 29, 2012Previous reviewWe live on the ES and have frequented Hope Street Pizza, normally just OK for quick dinner. This last visit we sat in the bar, service in a work RUDE. Bartender spent a lot of time checking her phone, we had to ask her for service then she told us that she knew we were there... Food, chix tenders for one of my children very salty, burger way overdone and nothing else on the plate eggplant obviously frozen.. not returning anytime soon too many other place to have a mediocre dinner.. sorry

Kind of mixed feelings. Sauce and crust were really good, cheese not so much. The kind of cheese where each slice it forms into one piece. Maybe it was too long a drive home. Definitely will give them another shot.

What has happened to this once upon a time 5-star+ Greek style pizza? I once raved about this pizza. Tasty sauce, Ample toppings. Delicious blend of cheeses and that signature thick flavorful crust. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Or oh, how the mighty have cut corners? Long story short: Large pizza was 2 inches less in diameter than previous pie. Sauce was bland. Cheese seemed "okay" but different. Skimpy pepperoni (had to hunt for olives). And the crust was thin and tasted like stale bread. Yes, same prices as before.
I notice that previous reviews were all from several months ago. Are they scrubbing the poor recent reviews? Sad. Lots of other pizza joints.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Anthony B.Meriden, CT027Mar 17, 2023
More like Nope St Pizza. New to the neighborhood and have been trying local places. My wife and I love Mediterranean and pizza so we were eager to try Hope St Pizza. We were profoundly dissatisfied with our experience. The ambiance was probably the only thing we liked. Felt like a neighborhood family owned diner and we liked that a lot. Decor was kind of dated, seats had tears in them covered by duct tape, and the tables and floors were quite dirty. We can get over that though. The food was average. Nothing stood out to us. Not the most extensive offering of Greek or Mediterranean but I guess they do mostly pizza. The service was horrendous. We weren't even greeted by any of the staff. How hard is it to say hello when a guest walks in your store? We sat ourselves (found the cleanest table we could). Waitress didn't introduce herself or say welcome. Just dropped off menus and asked what we wanted to drink. Food took a long time to come out IMO. 45 mins in a half-full restaurant seemed long. Waitress barely checked up on us while we ate. We finished and she just dropped off the check on our table. Didn't say anything. We sat there for 45 minutes and she never came back to check on us. We had to go to the front counter just for them to tell us we had to pay at our table. We went back to our table and the waitress gave my wife attitude about the check. We paid it, left a decent tip and left fuming. Won't be going back anytime soon.
Summary: Great location. Dirty. Decent food. Bad service. There are much better options on Hope St.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Virgilio S.Hartford, CT03Feb 2, 2023
I genuinely don't understand how this quality of pizza is served we're only a few hours drive from NYC I can't imagine many people enjoy this pizza. It very much reminds me of dominos pizza though not as cheap. I might actually prefer dominos and I never eat there because it makes my stomach hurt that cheap dough. This pizza didn't make my stomach hurt but the dough is sort of card boardy like dominos and the whole thing lacks flavor it just tastes like bread. Very dry.

A hidden gem on the East Side. More than pizza, Friendly staff and patrons, excellent gyros, kabobs, Greek salad and of course pizza. Nice selection of beers at the bar and fantastic service. Prices are really good as well
