Made my first stop at El Rio's this past Sunday. I'd heard really good things about it and wanted to try it myself. I ordered to go and got a variety of things for my family and I to try. A beef burrito, steak taco, chicken taco, and then 2 pupusas - 1 with fried pork, beans and cheese and the other the same but without the pork. Everything was made-from-scratch and prepared when we ordered. While my boys really enjoyed the burrito (best they'd ever had, they said), I really liked the tacos - probably because they included a cut lime with them for us to use and that made the steak and chicken taste so much better!
The menu was varied and affordable. Probably best of all is the family that owns the restaurant. So polite and friendly. They insisted we sat while they made the food and gave us some chips and salsa while we waited. I'd never had Salvadoran food before - specifically the pupusas - and we will all be back for more! I love the variety of places to eat in our city.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Melissa F.San Antonio, TX131Feb 18, 2017
Food is amazing! Very fresh and everything was delicious. The rice was cooked perfectly. Chicken was so tender and juicy and seasoned perfectly. As we were leaving my son made sure to remind me to leave a review because we all enjoyed it so much. We moved here in October and this is definitely my favorite restaurant so far. We will be frequent visitors!
