I like Fox 7 because not only do they play the most outrageous daytime commercials, but they also produce their own wacky commercials that I also very much enjoy. Their commercials are LOUD which I hate because most of the people in them yell or they have some wacked out music from 1988 blaring in the background. But then I think of "Austin's watching FOX! Austin's watching FOX!" I can forgive them for the noise.

I only really want to watch 2 to 3 hours of judge shows when I get the day off, so taking a full day and afternoon of the programming is out of the question. I do thoroughly enjoy that good 2 to 3 hours of Judge Alex and Judge Joe Brown and Judge Judy (the best!) and, again, half the fun is the commercials. You get crazy David Komie "I don't look like a lawyer, but it helps me sneak up on them" and whoever that Funk guy is yelling and parading around that Hummer he painted with his name all over it. I hate the Allied Health Careers and business school ones though, and I think if I watched them everyday the irritation of them alone would have me interviewing everywhere within a week.

The best thing about Fox 7 is just how sensational and over the top it is. I love that. I love that their newscasts have names like Fox 7 News Edge First at Nine! I think they could add a "2 the X-treme!" in there somewhere to really drive it over the top. But for now, that'll do. Fox 7 is just very entertaining all around to watch and I really appreciate how much fun it is when I go home and watch bland boring Shreveport newscasts where you want to poke the newscasters with a stick to get some life out of them.

One more thing! I love how they are letting children do the weather reports in the morning. When it's not precious, it's hilarious. I've been switching over from GMA more and more.

I give two stars because the station is helpfully informative when it comes to ... some things. Okay.

I was interviewed by fox 7 recently, regarding their story about the new library that is opening downtown. The lady kept using tricks when asking her questions to try and get me to say things that I didn't mean (but would make their story more interesting, I'm sure). They reflect the same ignorant attitude that most people in Austin seem to have. They asked me what I thought about all the homeless people that hang out at the library. When I answered, "what? they don't have the right to be in a public place? they're not people like you and me?" they shut off the camera immediately. They wanted me to say, "Yeah, they're all criminals, they should be deported. How dare they be homeless in a city where housing is stupidly expensive and minimum wage is 7.25!!!"

I give them two stars. Watch the evening news until Fisher comes on. His ego is beyond anything I have ever seen. The one night of storms he had to stay up and drank so much tea resulting in his bathroom breaks was TMI.
Rebecca Thomas is great! Where is Mike Warren? Did he take all this time off because Ms Thomas had time off to donate a kidney?

The best morning show in town. I like the live, in-studio musical performances. Very little of the same old canned crap about diet, exercise, children, pets, blah, blah. Joe is just the right mixture of sarcastic, skeptical and informative. I've seen him conduct some great interviews and he appears to enjoy what he's doing. It's really difficult to be entertaining and informative for four hours every morning.
