OMG...BE AWARE RIDERS...This fraudulent and unethical company overcharged our credit card!!! We were quoted a flat rate fare from the dispatcher (John) who requested we pay with a credit card up front. The driver arrived with sickening scent of pot and "snappy attitude" which he apologized for. Thankfully, we safely arrived to our destination but we did not tip for obvious reasons. The cab company tipped themselves 40% of the fare, and the total bill was over $100.00 US!! I called John at Kona and he asked we send a letter of the concern to their contacts in their website. I did not receive a response nor did I get a receipt for the service.
We called Uber to get us to the same destination the next dayt and were quoted half the price. It was my first-time using Uber and the driver was professional, courteous, and clean.
I wish I read the reviews before calling Kona-Taxi cab. DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE!

Driver had a bad attitude from the start. Very rude and must've been having a bad day, blamed the customers for a wrong pick up time when he was mistaken. He said some bad things to one of our guys in our group who was black. Seems to be a closet racist. Driver was a little older Asian man, wish I got his name so I could give a warning to others. Do not use this company, we got an Uber instead and the driver was actually very courteous and nice. I get why Taxi cab services are going away, because of drivers like this unhappy soul.

Zero starts! SCAM alert! This company requested my credit card information up front and quoted one price for the fare, but charged 40% more onto my credit card! The taxi driver was high on marijuana, drove erratically, and was very unprofessional. Do not, I repeat, do not use this company.

Always provided great pick up service for me to go to the Kona airport. I used them once by calling them up, quick and easy.
Then I tried their online booking service, which was even better because I can schedule a pick up time, pay them and also put the tips on.

this company is a joke. claims they have the capability of charging whatever rate they choose after we already paid the regulated, advertised amount online. added 20 dollars AFTER WE PAID just because they "could charge whatever they want for a flat rate." (still don't totally believe what they're doing is allowed under taxi rate regulations.) don't bother trying to use this company if you can help it -- i certainly wouldn't if i could get another cab in time.

Almost never post reviews, but had an excellent experience with these guys. On time, huge van, friendly driver, and help at the airport (we had a ton of baggage including a bike). Thank you!

Made a reservation at 5p for 10p pickup time to go to airport for a flight. Got a call at 9:30p saying they were not coming. DO NOT BOOK. With so few evening flights out it is difficult to find last minute rides on the island and this service was absolutely unacceptable.

We use Kona Taxicab for our airport transportation every time on the island. The drivers are always friendly and right there waiting for you. They even fixed a goof on my end when my wife was getting picked up from the airport and I had booked the wrong day by accident. Reasonable rates, friendly service, and online reservations. Very happy and will continue to use.

They will charge your card & not tell you they have a 24 hour cancellation policy. I booked over the phone and then cancelled less than 5 minutes later. They didn't say that they would still charge the full price or I wouldn't have cancelled. It's not right to take someone's credit card number and then charge them for services not rendered. I understand a late cancellation fee, but it's not right to not tell a customer over the phone about it. Bad business.
