In 2022, I had a 12K repair done at Kniesel's Citrus Heights on my 2012 RAV4, which was paid for by the other driver's insurance (Geico), because the other driver ran a red light and I had dash cam footage that proved they were 100% at fault. The job was done with such excellence, that you can't tell it ever happened. Kniesel's and Geico came through with flying colors!
Fast-forward to after 4:30 PM on Friday, 3/22/24. My wife parked her 2015 Honda Fit, and ran up on a parking lot concrete bumper. When she backed out, the passenger-side front fender came loose and started rubbing on the tire. She called me in a panic. I called Kniesel's, (next door to where she was parked), and without hesitation, Matt Stevens, the branch General Manager, walked over to where the car was parked, temporarily fixed the problem so she could drive the car to the shop, and permanently fixed the problem at no charge!
How many companies today would extend themselves to an unknown customer-especially late on a Friday afternoon and without charge? in my experience, that kind of customer-first attitude is pretty much non-existent today. THANK YOU MATT STEVENS and KNIESEL'S CITRUS HEIGHTS!

I am livid right now. My car was t-boned. My insurance uses Kniesel's. I went over there and had them evaluate the car. I was told they would order parts and have the parts in which is why I brought my car 2 weeks after the initial evaluation. They have had my car for over a week. When I dropped it off I was told it would take around 2 weeks. I thought that was long considering I thought they had evaluated and ordered what needed to be ordered, but I didn't question it. I have not had one call from the updating me about the progress as I was told I would have someone call me.
I called just now, over a week since they have had my car. Only to be told that they found additional damage and that they'll have my car for weeks.
I asked if they would have my car that long because they have so much work, they can't complete it in a timely manner, or they are waiting for parts. His response " This is about a 21 hour job and we can't just work on your car so this will take a few weeks. So basically, they take on so much work that they can't get stuff done in a timely manner and really don't care about inconveniencing others.
I have two dogs who cannot ride in a rental vehicle. Those dogs cannot go to doggy daycare or go for our outings that we usually go on every day. While Kniesel's doesn't care about the ramifications of keeping my car for that long, I do and so do my dogs who can't do the things they want because this company wants to make as much money as they possibly can without caring about inconveniencing the car owner.
Getting into an accident that's not your fault seriously sucks and having people take my car and not care how long they have it for makes a sucky situation even worse.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Denise M.Rio Linda, CA1016817Aug 29, 2023
I literally have no idea how they are getting so many good reviews. Maybe I caught people on their bad day, multiple times in a row.
I called about getting an estimate on my car after it was involved in a minor accident. Lannis must have been incredibly busy because I could not have felt like more of a bother. I chalked it up to being a bad day and tried back a couple of days later.
I called back the following week and basically talked to like a child. I felt like I wasn't getting anywhere and asked for the manager. I was shocked to learn that this "man" talking down to me was the manager. I was astonished. I just asked for clarification on how they work their estimates, how accurate they were on time and things of that nature. He was so evasive, I felt as though if I left my car there, it would end up with me, the "dumb girl" getting scammed.
I grew up with my dad and uncles rebuilding hot rods. I'm familiar with much of the work surrounding auto-body and collision repair (not that Kevin would know, since he refused to actually listen to my words). It has been a really like time since I've been made to feel inferior because I'm a woman.
I ended up taking my car to a competitor who could not have been more patient, kind or valued as a customer. I hesitated sharing this review. Then, I was at a pto meeting and talking about my experience and learned how many other women had similar experiences at this location and thought I should try and save someone the hassle of being treated so poorly by someone you're trying to give money too.
I highly recommend some training. Or not. At this point, I wouldn't return to the business and will share my story with anyone available to listen or in the market for a body shop. I absolutely know who I am not taking my mustang too though when it's ready for paint.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kate S.Orangevale, CA09Jan 11, 2024
Kniesel's made a bad experience almost pleasant. What a nice professional friendly bunch of people. And it's like my car is new again! Big thanks to Tyler Espinosa for keeping in touch and for being on top of every detail... and a special shout out to Lexi who is one of the hardest working sunniest people ever. If anyone needs collision repair, this is the place to come!

We are so impressed with Kniesel's in Citrus Heights
Jordan was the technician in charge of our car. He called and kept us informed throughout the process. Everyone there was so pleasant. Our car looks better than it did new. If you need a company to repair your car due to a collision don't hesitate taking it to them for repairs.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lauren T.Foothill Farms, CA0104Nov 12, 2023
Went in and they stated that my appointment was to just tell me what they will fix and the car would not come back to be fixed for a few weeks. Terrible service

Hello Lauren,
Thank you for your feedback. The process for evaluating a collision repair consists of a preliminary estimate appointment and then a repair appointment. The estimate appointment is an important aspect to how we evaluate the repairability of a vehicle. This allows us to examine, inspect, and evaluate the damages to determine whether your vehicle is repairable or might be deemed a total loss. Once this has been completed, we would then schedule you in for a repair appointment.
I am so sorry if this was not explained to you at the start of your claim. However, in order to evaluate the damage and assess what parts would be needed for the repair to your vehicle, this is essential to deliver the best repair possible.
Should you wish to discuss this further, please contact me directly,
Sincerely,
Rebecca Endres

If you are looking for the best possible experience to make all the crummy parts of getting in an accident so much better, GO HERE! The front desk staff Stephanie was always warm, welcoming and helpful. Who then connected me with the Service Advisor Sam. She is a real gem. She was very thorough in her assessment of my car and made sure to not cut any corners in making the repair everything I could have asked for and more. She gave me multiple updates along the way of exactly what progress was made on my car and what still needed to be done. They got the car finished in record time and right at the time she estimated in her previous update. She treated me like a friend and made me feel so well taken care of the whole time. She made all the efforts to go above and beyond in every way. Shout out to the shop because my car looks flawless. Every detail including some of the interior is perfection. What amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail. I wouldn't change a single thing about the experience and will be back for some
Long overdue repairs very soon!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 13267548Sep 7, 2021
Top-notch customer service from initial collision consultation repair quote through repair process up to hand off. Everyone involved from John my collision consultant to the women who run the office to the amazing Kniesel's guys who fixed my car have been wonderful. My car looks great and they completed it in exactly the amount of time as promised. Also, I want to express my sincere thanks to the detail shop for a wonderful wash job not only on the exterior, but also for what they did in the interior. They cleaned my interior mats and sprayed a little fragrance for me. I'm a very happy and pleased. So, if you need a little collision work done, I TOTALLY recommend Kniesel's.

I would like to give a shout out to Doug at Kniesel's Collision in Citrus Heights.
He did a fantastic job of communicating with our insurance company and keeping myself and my daughter informed of every step along the way to picking up our car. He triaged multiple calls from myself, my daughter and our insurance company. He was always pleasant and extremely helpful. Our insurance was a nightmare and Doug stayed focused and in control of keeping everyone in the loop.
My daughter and I were amazed when we saw the car after repairs. The beautiful workmanship and attention to detail was exquisite.
Thank you very much Doug. Awesome job well done.

If I could give 0 stars I would
I've had an extremely poor experience with them and would not recommend any Kniesels to anyone.
The pros: they do quality work
The cons: they find as much work as they can, at a high price
I'm not an auto body mechanic but have friends who are, and am a mechanic myself. I knew what was wrong with my car beforehand. So I decided to go with the luxury body shop to get quality work. (Big mistake)
I was in a fender bender, they say totaled the car. Everything from a scratch on a windshield wiper, that is not from the accident, to a headlight scratch, to a scratch around my window, from getting it replaced years ago, they want to replace and or paint. Please see attached photos.
I'm sure they would say they want the car and me to look new and be happy, but they car is 7 years old and many of these extremely minor things do not need to be part of this insurance claim and shouldn't be. So now my car is just about paid off, with a little over 100k miles, is totaled (by them). They also say this is out of their hands and has to do with the insurance. But they quoted all these things to the insurance at their pricing.
They want to repaint excessively. Replace parts that do not need replaced, with over priced back ordered and used parts, etc..., I can find all of these parts new and in stock on rockauto for less than HALF the price they say, and the parts are CAPA certified, new/not used.
This shop is not for you average Joe. I did this to myself and should've gotten other quotes that are now coming In so much lower. If I would have went with any competitor I would have a fixed and working car without a totaled title, instead I have a headache dealing with this, a "salvaged" car, insurance, paying them for disassembly, etc.
I am extremely disappointed with the options I was never described to or told about even after asking. IF I were to go with them knowing now, I would have asked them to take apart the car on my dime, w/o insurance so they can fully quote me. Heck just skip that and go ANYWHERE else.
Save yourself the headache and ton of money and do that, whether that means lower insurance premiums for next year or out of your pocket expenses.
Extremely disappointed after hearing they did good work.
Please feel free to message me anytime if you would like more details or photos.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1Business owner information

Hi Blake,
Thank you for your feedback. I would like to take this time to address your comments.
We approach each repair with an individual assessment, which takes into consideration the concerns and expectations of the customer, as well as the repairability of the vehicle. Our goal is to provide your insurance carrier with the most accurate assessment of damages at the time of the estimate.
One of Kniesel's Collision's Core Values is Integrity; that is, we hold ourselves to the highest standards to accurately assess and report all damages to the carrier. Additionally, we are given guidelines by the insurance carrier on which parts vendors we can select for parts pricing; RockAuto is not included in what is available to us.
We understand your frustration that the vehicle was considered a total loss by your carrier and are sorry it did not turn out as you wished. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Sincerely Yours,
Rebecca Endres
